    Thank you for the video. It made disassembling and further reassembling much easier.
    My laptop was throttling for almost 2 years. Couldn’t figure out until I realized it was all dried-out, old crumbling thermal paste to blame.
    Also, thanks Dell engineers for making that complicated.

    I used this tutorial to replace the thermal paste with artic mx4, as I had suspected using liquid metal would lead me to make a mistake a possibly kill my machine. I was right, some mx4 got onto the capacitors, I cleaned them off, and made sure everything was fine, put it together, and it worked! Maybe once I'm better at applying thermal paste I'll try using liquid metal. Thanks for the video! Only took me 4 hours to do though

    Exactly what I was looking for! My battery is bloated, my fans are very dusty and hence my 15 7000 is running very hot. (Idling at 80 C, maxes out at 100 C causing the CPU & GPU to throttle to 1.8 GHz) I have bought the "Noctua NT-H1 Pro-Grade Thermal Compound". Hoping it will drop my temperatures by at least 10 C, since LM is quite expensive in my country. Do you think I can do the maintenance by myself? What suggested screwdrivers would I need to open all the screws you did in this video? Also my fans are terribly dusty, how would one clean them (water? )? Excellent video! Keep up the good work. You've earned a sub. :)

      I'm glad that this video can help you out, if you are a bit of handy man and know how to put a IKA chair together, then trust me you can follow my video and if you have any question ask me i try to reply quickly. regarding the screwdrivers grab any cheap set of screw driver but if you want to service often you electronics get the one in my video description. about the fan noise never ever use water , you need a old tooth brush and a "Alcohol isopropilico" link in the description. you can use the same alcohol to clean the motherboard, its safe. i would recommend you to put a copper shim on gpu and cpu 20mmx 20mm .3 or .4mm thickens. and you will have to put thermal pasteon gpu/cpu then on othe other side of the copper shims. you will be shocked by temp drop. good luck

      Thermal pads won't help shit nothing, first of all, thermal pads have very low thermal conductivity, and also comparing one to another, there's very small difference, also RAM chips don't run hot so you almost wouldn't even need the cooling and third, there's common thermal surface, this means that all chips are cooled with same surface, same cooler, so if the cpu/gpu runs extremely hot and the whole cooler is hot, it won't help much if ram/pwm is cooled with same warm cooler...

      LM can be changed and you can clean and re done it, and it does NOT expire! the only expire kinda stuff is if you place the heatsink and lift it after few days you must clean and repaste it. any type of paste they have expiry date and the date is based on the use and heat pass. normal use 3-4 years. LM will give you 4-5c extra drop. good luck

      its the same 99% as your 7567, BUT i would highly recommend you to not place a LM.
      go with : thermal grizzly kryonaut extreme: amzn.to/3Ng1vXE
      the LM is very good but very risky and fragile if you move the laptop a lot, its good for computers that don't move from its place. because LM will dry after a month and it will create a perfect bound and awesome heat transfer but once its dry and bounded its at its most fragile state, any slight vibration or hit it will crack that bound and you will get the worse heat transfers, but use the PASTE version you will get almost the same result with a factor of 2-3c difference, but its none conductive and it will not dry for 5-6years.

      hi and thank you for your support,
      and if you want to get your GPU working, let tell you you cannot replace the GPU (not by your self, its called reballing GPU)
      BUT you can Fix the issue at home if you follow the following instructions:
      #1, remove all the motherboard, remove everything off the board as it shows @17:28
      #2. then you want to get a aluminum foil tape : amzn.to/3jh4tLr
      #3. then you want to isolate using the tape the GPU, doesnt have to be perfect. you can see how i isolate a gpu on this video ( th-cam.com/video/LPThmVu9-JM/w-d-xo.htmlsub_confirmation=1. ) @8:54
      #4. make sure your have no air blowing to the where you working nor A/C is ON,, it most be at room temp or 28c above
      #5. get a heat gun or get a hair dryer set it to max heat and medium air flow (heat gun must be at 280c) the hair dryer just sset it to max heat.
      #6. place the board on a wood surface , not glass nor metal.
      #7. deep the hair dryer above pointing directly to the gpu with 3cm of distance. for 5 -7min
      #8. turn off the heat and DO NOT TOUCH OR COOL THE BOARD. let it sit and cool down by it self for 10min.
      #9. clean up and place new paste and you will see the result :)
      good luck

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is a good idea if you need to be extra cautions, BUT as long as the laptop is off, you can remove ram and HDD and m.2 without any issues, without removing the battery. when you look at the schematics of the motherboard you will know that the power rail to the ram and hdd and m.2 and many other ports and parts are off and there is no risk of shortage.

      Thank you! for the feedback and your support to the channel by SUB :P
      regarding your question: NO it will not Corrode nor it will go bad regarding the thermal conductivity.
      you have to keep one IMPORTANT thing in mind about LM:
      #1. LM when applying its in liquid format, so you can safely move the laptop around without any worry.
      #2. after few months of use the LM will not stay at its liquid state, it will become hardened and it will bond 100% with cpu and heatsink (it will not destroy or damage the die or the heatsink) , it will cure and it will have even better heat transfer effect.
      BUT when its cured at 100% the bond its very very extremely fragile, that means if you bang around the laptop in the bag pack or slow bumps on the table it will crack the cured bond and the results will be HORRIFYING.
      if you are not planing to move the laptop on daily bases and it will always stay in one place then sure do LM, else you have to be very careful after few months of applying LM, else you will be forced to reopen and re apply LM.
      option: you can use instead of LM use his paste version and the differences are about 3-4c

    I see you didn't clean the heatsink.. isn't it necessary to clean it when u open up ur laptop, becuase i've heard the dust attached to heatsink disturbs it's airflow.. Some suggest to wash it aswell.. is it possible with this particular model?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh ya defiantly you will have to use a tooth brush and compressed air, but in the name of god don't wash it. if you get to wash it you will have to use hair dryer for at least 5min to heat it up nicely, all you need is to use brush and compressed air.
      we use this compressed dry air vacuum, that is 1000% better than any air can that is marketing, that it will push humid air and can damage components and also the pressure from this air cans are nothing compared to the air duster.
      and the air dusters can be use around the house for many stuff and in a long term it pays off. check it out.
      i can't run a service job without the air duster :P

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      thank you for the feedback, and let me try to explain the best as i can.
      1st of all LM once placed it will last a life time conducting heat or cold, there is not expiry date on it.
      2nd. most people that use LM dont understand the physics or the type of the material and the bond that it creates.
      the LM will bond the cpu/gpu dye tot he copper , it will act as an soldering two parts together over time this bond becomes even BETTER not worse (better heat or cold transfer). BUT over time it becomes even more fragile as well.
      so now we know that it bonds both material and over time the bond becomes better and fragile.
      now lets see where we applying the LM,
      When applied into Laptops it will work like a charm for a year or so, and after that period of time the bond is becoming better and more solid. but as human we tend to bang around the laptop or the bag-pack , so what happens in that situation is that the heat-sink will move slightly , that will cause the joint to crack, because there will be no more liquid left.
      so to cut the chaise , if you move your laptop a lot and its not in one place all the time , i dont recommend you to place a LM unless you willing to replace it every 1-2 years.
      if you keep your laptop in once place and are very cautious regarding moving it, then LM for life without replacing it.
      same goes to pc.
      people place LM in PC cpu and after a year or two they see the temps rising they think its LM faults! and its NOT.
      if you think how the heavy heatsinks are mounted to the motherboard and the gravity is not to the favor of the heatsink and that the heatsink is holdup with screws and springs, so it can move/slide, and it positioned on the side of the case.
      SO after 1 or two when the LM starts to make a solid perfect bond and one day you accidentally give a tiny bang or move it very slow, that heavy heatsink that is hanging on the side of your case will move and break the bond.
      therefore LM is awesome if you are very very carefull with your stuff.
      laptops that move around its a no no,
      i hope i explained myself,
      thanks again for the feedback

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  ปีที่แล้ว

      you don't see the difference in temp because your fan curve is based on temp.
      for e.g the fan curve works like this the fan will go @ 80 % when temp is 70c and when temp goes higher the fan goes faster.
      the advantage you have now its that your fan does not kick in at max when you at max load.
      if you have set the fan curve at e.g 50% and full load before the repaste you would see a 90c
      and if you set the same fan speed at 50% after repaste you would see 70c or less
      what you get now is less fan noise and faster cooling.
      other option is to download msi afterburner and set the fan curve to your liking.

    • @uFixTek

      your fan will be running constantly if you put LM or not! the fan temp controller is based on a diode in the cpu GPU and the fan will spin after 50c or 60c a lot. but it will bring your temps down and that means less fan noise.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Toyeboy89 oh boi , let me tell you something, you got two options: #1. install MSI after burner and lower your fan spin curve (and be ready to burn your GPU soon... ) because even if you put a magic liquid or call NASA you out of luck because its a simple physics: the heat from GPU/CPU will conduct to the heat-sink via LM but after 2min in order to heat dissipate you need air flow, the more air flow the cooler the heat sink and the cooler cpu then the fan slows down..
      #2. put a headset :P
      you have to choose there is no magic option here, you can only transfer the heat faster with LM or pastes but you still got to cool the heat-sink after 1-2min under load.
