Hey. I don't desire to bring negativity to your channel, but watching this fella share the joys of hoplites triggered a memory of a SandRhoman History video debunking "the Hoplite Revolution". I have been a fan of SRH channel for years, and it became a bummer to watch a video pulling apart the theory of Hoplite Revolution but even more so because it seemed like they were strawmanning the affirmative view. If you have the time, would you consider doing a reaction to it. I'm certain they are nice people, but I want to know if I am overreacting to a critic of a theory I like or whether they are using bad rhetoric to oppose solid historical analysis. th-cam.com/video/pnDtf0muoqI/w-d-xo.html

Hi Metatron, just Subscribed to your Channel a couple days ago after watching "Nerdrotic's "Friday Night Tights". I really love your content as well as being genuine and real. This is the kind of Historical content I was looking for with references, logistics and along with being human. I was losing so much confidence and trust for so many years with other "historians" to whom enough times I call "amateur opinionists" depending on their intentions. You may already know this but you can also immediately catch if something is off just by the way they present their case, such as treating reports and opinions the same with particular attitude. Equivalent to "literary style" as Cliffe Knechtle would say. Pax Tube is also another great channel I would like you two in contact with. You two are on the very same/similar boat. Farya Faraji is similar mostly in the music department when he talks about music theories and more. Once again I really love watching your videos and keep up the good work.
TH-cam's automatic title translation for other languages has been enabled by default for several channels and is generating terrible title translations. For example this video's title is "herói3" for me. The creator has to manually disable that in TH-cam Studio in order to disable that.

Asking chatGPT about helmet crests. 1. These descriptions emphasize the visual impact of the crest, implying that it was designed to intimidate opponents and convey the warrior's status. For example: Iliad 3.337, Paris dons his helmet with a horsehair crest. Iliad 17.451, where the crest of Hector’s helmet shines as he fights. 2. Xenophon's Cyropaedia Xenophon describes crests in a more practical and symbolic sense. In Cyropaedia (The Education of Cyrus), Book 6, Section 4, he notes how Cyrus uses crests on soldiers' helmets to make them more imposing and distinguishable. “He equipped them in such a way that their weapons and armor gleamed brightly and that their crests, which he designed to stand high, made them appear taller and more formidable.” 3. Herodotus' Histories While Herodotus doesn’t go into detail about helmet crests, he mentions Greek warriors' armor and the importance of symbols in military regalia. For example: Histories 7.89: In the context of describing the Spartan warriors at Thermopylae, Herodotus focuses on their military dress and appearance, which likely included crested helmets as part of their impressive visual display. 4.
