- In this video, we take another look at IL-2 Sturmovik: Flying Circus-in my opinion, the best WWI flight experience available today. Whether you're playing in VR or not, this game truly lets you experience, in some way, what it was like to be a WWI pilot.

Try it without the labels. WWI aircraft are very easy to identify compared to WWII. They have different numbers of wings and all sorts of odd shapes and colors. The game does such a great job of rendering them spotting and ID ing them in a realistic manner is quite immersive.
IL2 is a brilliant VR flight sim. Flying Circus has been the poor relation to the WW2 sim but now it has a career mode things are changing. One minor draw back is that larger user made missions will result in a dismal AI until the number of enemy aircraft drops. Online it isn’t a problem. When the likes of DCS feels like a bit too much IL2 is a brilliant way to wind down. With a decent set up you can get 60FPS all day long at max settings in VR. Stunning graphics, no ghosting with a Pimax Crystal has to be experienced to be appreciated.
The fan in the face is perfect. Don’t forget the scarf.
Rudder Pedals are nearly a must for that planes, but Flying Circus is so much fun. Great Video!
First time I ran Rise of Flight (FC predecessor). Way before VR was thing, I took off in my Camel hearty engine throbbing like an excited bumble bee. We climbed up over the Somme valley out over towards the trenches. Out in the distance I could see little puffs of smoke dancing on the cloudless air. Slowly they got bigger as Archie zeroed my flight. The first shell that exploded near my plane almost gave me a heart attack. I had head set on and home made track IR. FC Is very polished and a rather large dollop of fun.
Great game, I've played non Ironman and you can go from ww1 over to ww2 campaign and play through til the end of ww2. Long haul but epic
WW1 flying is still the most fun in a game
Hate to be that guy... but... authentic WWI experience while keeping icons on..... 😁
The icons can be turned off. Hope your vision (and judgment) is good, if you do.
@@ericpetras953 Vision is ok I gess. But I do, I do fly with them turned off. After a while even with limited resolution on a VR headset of monitor screen you start to pick up on the subtleties of the diferent profiles of aircraft, wing shapes etc. Besides it was ment a a soft jab, I'm not knowking the way you decide to play. A few yeast ago when I played IL-2 1946 (and it's predecessors) I always used to fly with labels on too.
Does the fan have variable speeds so more when diving and less when climbing, stalling.
Il-2 Sturmovik: Flying Circus - You don't hear much about it, but what do you think?
Which version is this? I, II or III?
Is this the 3rd chapter...? Flying Circus 3?
Thanks 👍🏻
They are really too expensive but keep an eye for discounts they do it often. I have all the WW2 modules and with patience I got everything on big discounts.
Cost ?
Damn
tried this "sim"
definitely not a "simulator"
definitely more on the side of a GAME
the flight model is fisher-price
AI is stupid. Enemy doesn't fight. Try WOFF OTT.
And I can fly with my steering wheel?
Steering whels don't have the necessary axis of control to control an aircraft.
no paying for a plane or a map that was available on rise of flight...? no way. and i wont make a 3000 rig just to play a sim with 5 planes...
The sim has more than 100 planes, and some tanks too
