Definitely feel your pain as I just went crazy with my 50gal low boy as aptasia( hope I spelled it right) they got on my nerves. I removed every piece of life rock ,grabbed my power drill with a huge drill bit. Made some fresh salt water and drilled each of them until they dissolved in the bucket. I usually zap them with a long syringe with boiling hot ro 💧. I removed the substrate that was crushed coral that had them all over the place and dumped into my backyard against the fence line.Replaced with 4 20 lb bags of life reef sand, as I left the clean rocks with corals attached in the tank 💧 overnight. So far good as I will monitor any remaining ones to do the same.My mistake was buying one rock from a seller whom claimed no pest was on them on in them. Lesson learned. Happy reefing 😊
I do a water change every couple of week's but due to work commitments and a vacation and being away i didnt do one for 5 weeks, set up auto feeder and auto doser was working well, The tank never looked better.
Tank looks amazing man. I too deal with Aiptasia in my jbj 45. I find if I take care of them as I find them with some Aiptasia X or whatever, it at least keeps them at bay. Something I will always have to do, but I have come to terms with it. Worst case scenario, there are bergia nudibranchs.
First off let me say I love your videos and want to thank you for taking the time to produce them. However, my main reason for the post is to see if your sump still has the tiny shrimp in it and if you'd be willing to siphon some out and sell them. I'm willing to pay a small fortune for some. I've been in the hobby for over 2 decades and even have a video that got 60k views, LOL. Anyways, either way thanks for the great vids. Because of personal medical issues I've gotten rid of my 240 and now I'm intending to upgrade my FijiCube 20 to an Innovative Marine 75 and mostly as a result of your videos!
CJ, beautiful tank, question, can you send me info or tell me about your hood for your lights. Materials, construction details. I need to build one but want it lightweight and yours looks lightweight. Also need mine to just rest on some support posts I have that are attached to my wall.
@@CJSAQUARIUMS Where I’ll have it I have about 48” of wall space in width, but was considering the 75 so I’ll have a little extra room on each side vs going with the 100 gallon
I would prefer the 100ext only reason I didn’t was due to being in 2nd floor of an apt. Weight issues. The 100ext will give you more space under tank and extra sump space with NUVO sump
@@CJSAQUARIUMS Maybe it’s worth squeezing in a 100 gallon. Might give me more options like adding some smaller tangs. Any concerns with the tank going on slate tile without leveling feet?
I shimmed my entire left side of my stand to level the tank haven’t had any issues the stands are a pain to assemble but strong. You could always go custom with leveling feet yourself tho. Ether way I’d go 100ext in your space if it fits 🫡
Get your self a strippie my system was curved with aptasia add just one strippie and with in a few days i cud see a huge huge drop in the aptasia population and its been about a month now and not a single one left best investments i ever made
My experience kalk paste works. You will need help though. The kalkwasser only works on the ones you are able to get too. The peroxide is a great tool for reef tank. Never had an issue using it. Ive dipped zoas with it. They closed for a few day but came back happy.
Your best option is natural removal, id stay away from the peroxide and all that stuff. Copperband, filefish, peppermint shrimp, etc. You will always have aptasia in your tank, its just all about keeping it at a minimum
Address those pest CJ I love my aquarium and the single only thing I just can’t stand in an aquarium is aptasia which I lost the battle with. So get on em early

I siphoned them out when I cleaned my sump you alittle too late. If they pop up again no problem they are yours just cover shipping 🫡
That Flame Angel is lovely. How's he doing with your corals? I hear they can go for the softies.
Model citizen for now but I’ve always had luck with flames being well behaved
Nice but I NEVER SEEN CLAM Fully open?? Spoke too soon brother looking great

Any thoughts about the IM being lagoon style tank? About to pull the trigger on the 75 gallon model.
I love all the IM tanks just get the footprint you want. I prefer the EXT version

Bro this method is only putting a bandaid on the problem. As soon as your done or stop dosing h2o2 it will come back. Best of luck to you ❤
The master plan is forever evolving bro just documenting as I go 🫡💯
Reef look good but for green hair algae Siphone is better and filter socks
Quick question what’s your schedule and setting you have on your lights
Limpets CJ they are your friend.
Looking good homie 👌💯✌️🔥
Molly Miller Blenny, mine doesn't tackle the larger Apps but I have no babies sprouting up anymore 😊
I think i saw baby mysis shrimp swimming in sump 👀
Time for a stripey…they don’t stop eating aptasia
I have a lot of potential corals they pick at. Avoiding fish solutions at the moment
Do you have monie cowries? Best thing i added to my tank. Tank looks amazing btw
What’s less likely to eat up my coral an flame angel or coral beauty?
Get the long sleeve glove please when you dip your hand in the tank
Clean sand like this way I guess is wrong
Gorgeous tank
Does your Flame angel pick at your corals much?
This guy been model citizen 👌🏾
CJ, did I miss something with the anemone? I don’t see it.
Moved around to the back left behind the peak unfortunately you can see it on left side shot 🫡
