I lived across the street from the Lizard Lounge long time ago, AND I love this Joni song, written with an intensity, not just in melody but in rhythm. Don't know how else to describe it.
My favorite Duke love song. He purposefully sounds like Larry Carlton on the A section. You have to love the conga player in the info…..he literally moves like Jaco, arms swinging.
Ah, thanks Wally! Yeah, I’m super lucky to have friends like these, amazing musicians and beautiful humans. Happy to read your kind words, all the best to you and the family - Duke
Such a lovely piece played so beautifully by an amazing group of musicians. I've really missed seeing Club d'Elf at the Lizard Lounge and am beyond thrilled to hear that they'll be starting up again in September. So looking forward to that!
Joni right before Jaco. Just gorgeous music. Since I was seventeen I had noone over me! Brad Mehldau did a killing version too and played all those great little lyric lines. The original had Robben on acoustic but... this one features a tele! drool :-)
I wish I'd kept track of how many times I actually said "wow" out loud while watching this. I love the original version, and you guys nailed its voice, structure, swing, and punch while giving it your own artistic kiss. Thank you!
Masterful ensemble & individual playing. Thanks for posting. I'm just not entirely sure that America / the world / *I* deserve to be on the receiving end of it.
Beautiful cover of a beautiful joni classic. 👌👌both guitars with tone to die for.

This remains one of my favorite DL videos of all time. Such a groovin' arrangment, and all of the players are so excellent.
What a monumentally great band. I feel so lucky to have "been there" a few times.
Thank you, my friend. I would say you were way more than "there" :-). As I remember you made my and everyone else's night with your awesomeness!
This is so fkn groovy. Santa meets Steely Dan and a side of country gravy.

As a huge Joni fan, it's a real trip hearing this cover. Duke, you and your friends make incredible music. I am loving everything you do.

I would have guessed this was a Becker-Fagen tune based on the feel & changes but it's by Joni Mitchell song. Wow! Well done by Club d'Elf & friends.
The sound of pure joy and happiness
Great players with great taste!
