How did you get started in renovations? I’m really glad to see a young person appreciate older homes and preserve the doors, sink etc... You are doing an amazing job!
Hi, thank you for the informative videos. Could you help me? I recently bought an old historic house with the intention of a full renovation as a hobby. I ran into some difficulties and would like your input if possible. 1) How do you find the original architectural drawings and permits the builders used while building a house? 2) What kind of professional could be the best to advise on the structural aspect of a house? Any thoughts on these issues would be most appreciated. I am located in the southern USA. Best wishes.
The county office might have architectural drawings if they were submitted for permits. Also a local historical society may have them or ask a local architect who's been around the town a long time. He or she might know someone who collects drawings of historic buildings. And he or she should be able to recommend a structural engineer.
1A; If your city has a historic society, that may also be a great place to acquire the historic drawings. Sometimes your elder neighbors, like in my case, have pictures on the interior of the property. 2A: i suggest hiring a structural engineer to assists with the structural issues in regards to your home. They are able to provide guidance/solutions to your contractor in regards to resolving any issues on your property
I hope the electrician is done. A perfectionist is great but being on time is also necessary for his business. He must have many complaints on his poor meeting of time limits. I suspect he doesn't take you, as a woman, seriously. If your father or an older man could meet with him and get some commitments from him I bet he would honor them. Offering beer seems to go a long way in this area too.

Thank you. My grandmother had an older home and she taught me how to use power tools. From there, I just grew to love home restoration projects
Anyone else a lil frustrated with the electrician lol. Loving the updates!
You have a lovely home! And thank you for saving it and your cute little cat!
Thank you. Everyone knew the cat would eventually be mine. I was in denial.
Loving your videos and can't wait to see the rest of the house and apartments progress!
