Absolutely love you guys making videos together. Lost my dad to cancer in 2013 when I was 16 years old. He worked on all his vehicles himself. I never learned the craft from him so I’m learning from you guys. Keep it up!
I love that icon set and it pairs up perfectly with the makita 1/4" sockets that come in the little pvc carriers. Add those and it's really an unbeatable combination.
I have both bit sets, and I enjoy using both of them in different cases. The biggest downside is that the Gearwrench isn't nearly as easily portable. I have the table, too, and want another for my tool shed. Some people change the light out for a better one. However, what I did was paint the pegboard white. It reflects the light better and helps brighten up the work area a bit.
Nice analysis. If you store the GW ratchets in the tray with the heads flexed up a bit and locked, it is much easier to grab them. Also, you can put the GW ratchet heads to 90 degrees and use them as a crank. Finally, some WD40 Specialist Silicone spray works great on these smaller ratchets to smooth them out.
I use my icon for Carb tuning and interior fasteners. I really like my matco set for low pro sockets. I paid about the same for both, but the matco was used
I think they both have their uses but the Icon is more compact and has the essentials. Gear wrench is almost a 1/4 inch socket kit with the size of it, not compact at all might as well use a regular ratchet at that point
Since I have so many bits and sockets, I bought the Gearwrench bit ratchet by itself. However, I still plan to pick up the Icon one set. Pestacycle, Tone and Vim also have one similar. Tone and VIM are a tad longer. Either way, the Icon style bit ratchet has it's uses.
I’ve got the Wera and added the tiny Titan 1/4” swivel head ratchet to it and I have the icon and used tactical rubber bands and added the 1/4” Makita socket set to it. I want to like the gear wrench but the fact that there isn’t a case or compact way to store it, kinda defeats the purpose
I have the gear wrench set, I also wish you would have came with some better storage case than this little cheap thin plastic crap. And my version is probably worse since your bits are in that little case, the new version they're just in little plastic cheap bit holders. But what I really enjoy about the gearwrench over every other bit set like this that I've seen, is the width of the ratchet, I feel like it just gets me a better grip

Sorry to hear that, and I agree I love this channel

I will have to check out those sockets
At Sema 2023, Harbor Freight said they're coming out with their bit set that includes sockets. Should be out soon!
That would be awesome

We love the table so far. It’s very sturdy
I have the Gear wrench. I hate the crappy case. I would have bought the ICON if it was out when I got the Gear Wrench set.
They are both nice but icon case is awesome

Icon is supposed to be dropping the set with the sockets sometimes this year I believe
That would be nice
Love it

I love the Icon
It’s nice
For the price difference, you could add the Quinn 1/4 inch socket set and have the same versatility.
Great idea
That’s what I did also.
Great video
Thanks we really appreciate it
Are icon tools better than gearwrench tools
Nice workbench
Thanks, it’s really nice
Awesome video
Thanks we appreciate it
I just got my gear wrench set like 5 months ago and they no longer have the yellow case for the bits and the plastic tray is cheaper.
I have both sets I like the gearwrench a little more but use both sets...
They are both very good

Your right
Smart idea

Great channel guy's. Are you father and son?
Thanks we appreciate it. Yes we are father and son
for 25 dollars I could buy sockets for the Icon.
Both are nice
They are
