For a few people who are thinking about looking into this anime or the manga for it and assume by this recap that the hero is another one of those "Strongest above all creatures" type stories, that is only half right. Unless the translation of the manga I read was wrong, the guy wanted to be reborn average and the Goddess granted that..... without realizing that she messed up by making him average in comparison to all (I.E. he is the middle of the scale for ALL creatures). So while he would be consider S-rank to humans, there are creatures and beings that would be higher than him and we have not met them yet in the story besides the goddess.
