- Lady Gaga reveals to "CBS Sunday Morning's" Lee Cowan her struggles with mental health while recording her latest album, "Chromatica," and how her producer helped her through it. The full interview airs Sunday, September 20.
She's human like everyone else. Why do people think that music stars are superhuman?
Despite her fame and money she's a mess. The music industry makes her even crazier. But that's the life she chose. Amazing how many people would die to be in her shoes and have no idea the stress and lack of freedom and privacy that you really have.

Yes, I do suffer from depression, PTSD and chronic pain due to health issues and I have a severely challenging autistic son that I haven't been able to see because of COVID-19 :(

She’s such a warrior and fighter - It’s amazing to use her celebrity status in a positive way of shedding light on such a sensitive subject WE are all going through.
Mental health is real. Anyone can have mental health issues. Even people who are rich and/or famous. Having those things doesn't MAKE you happy.
It's supplemental. It's like having dessert. Dessert is great, but if you don't have your meat and potatoes per say, the dessert won't fill you and give you what you need. Think about it. If you aren't genuinely happy, having nice things and people knowing your name ain't gonna fix that.

My mother has Fibromyalgia and it sucks! Good on Lady Gaga for powering through. Reality is, that at some point Lady Gaga will not be able to perform any more if she is dealing with fibromyalgia.
My mom has fibromyalgia as well, it is a horrible debilitating disease that it truly has affected her as well as the whole entire family around her.
I have Fibro and it is so hard. I felt so seen when Gaga started opening up about having Fibro!
I had fibromyalgia, severe depression and anxiety (along with other symptoms) due to a Vitamin D deficiency (very low). Vitamin D is often overlooked. I had to order/ask for a Vitamin D blood test for myself because none of my doctors (over 3 decades) ever considered it. My doctor was very surprised with the test results but said "Good Job!" with a smile and put me on a 12 week prescription (50,000 IU's a week). I wish I could talk to Lady Gaga directly about this but maybe my info will get to her somehow :)
It's scary when you become radically depressed and you don't have a reason to be so low. When you feel that low you don't think you can pull out of it and you have "bad ideas".
How are you feeling now that you’re taking them? I just started vit D supplements but I also started taking probiotics and I feel a tiny bit better already from my digestive system
@@katrinna7311 Good deal! I started taking my D prescription 2 years ago and I still supplement D now. I've never felt better! I take other vitamins a supplements too but D made the biggest difference. My digestive system was/is sluggish at times. I think I have an underlying sensitivity to some foods high in salicylates and/or lectins that trigger gut issues. I think Vitamin D is my biggest help/best friend regardless though. (Turmeric is 2nd)
@@katrinna7311 BTW I also figured out that ibuprofen was making me feel worse because it has salicylates like some foods do.

Reducing inflammation seems to be the key but figuring out the sources is a job so D and Turmeric help me compensate.
Dammit if only people had access to vitamin D....

I love you Gaga! Thank you for telling us about your experience with your depression and creating Chromatica with it. It is hard to push yourself when you're hanging by a thread but well done to BloodPop/Michael for seeing past that and encouraging Gaga to be the best she can be out of that situation. That's wonderful human connection to have in an industry so demanding at times with covid 19 doing its thing in the middle of it. It is an honour to have Chromatica in my home 😃

Consider requesting a blood test just for your Vitamin D level. Mine was very low and I used to have the same depression and pain symptoms she complains of. Doctors overlook this all the time.

I hope that she’ll some day be able to let go off the entire fame thing and retire. It is very obvious that fame is ruining people, especially those that are more intellectual and look for a deeper meaning in life. I’ve been following her for a long time and it’s always the same: She puts out a record, is happy because it’s successful and then falls into a very deep depression until she brings out another record again and the cycle repeats itself.

My problem with Gaga is that she uses ailments as a source of attention. Her star faded back in 2012 and since then she has come out with a flurry of issues: PTSD, Sexual Assault, Chronic Pain from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Depression etc. anytime/everytime she needs attention. It's pathetic at this point. She's a grown woman in her 30s and really needs to get it together at this point.
The thing is, she put off all her trauma and pain too long. Because it became world famous in a very short time. She continued to feel Lady Gaga busy in her career and "hiding" everything related to her mental health. even when she was raped when she hadn't started her career (was a person from the music industry)
All That at one point had to explode and unleash diseases like fibromyalgia and depression that she have to fight every day.

Well when your mental and physical health impacts your life so greatly, it only makes sense it creeps into your work and everyday living. This album is what came out of her negative experiences. And why not be vulnerable? It's harder to be soft and vulnerable with others, especially about our struggles.
