- In todays video we are looking into everything we know about the Power Coins. The coins used in the Rangers Morphers to give them their powers.

From what I remember Ninjor has an easier time accessing the Grid to make Rangers, it's why he (in Power Ranger lore) has the credit for the most Ranger Teams created as a single entity separate from the Grid.
Where Zordon needed as much power as he could get to create the White Tiger Coin, including shutting down the Command Center and delicate precision, Ninjor can do it in a short time and create up to six at a time, just by linking up to six rangers together and manipulating various energies in moments.
I assume he's also able to create Zords as well, just as easily, so he could hold the record of the most Zords built.
Essentially he doesn't even need to worry about the access vibrations of each Ranger team, as evident with the Master Morpher coins, if he wanted to or needed to he could revive every Ranger Team by making coins of each team.

Actually, Jason's red ranger powers were never damaged/destroyed do to the transfer of power with zordon announcing to Jason, Zack and Trini - May the power protect you before they teleport out of the command center.
Exactly he was still in red ranger mode when he was teleported out of the command center. The power of the red ranger might of be transferred but the access to the grid was still connected (I.e. his morpher. Rocky had his own)

@@shooterracing the reason why Jason was still in his ranger form is because the guy that played Jason was not in the show anymore that was his body double if you watch the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episodes of season 2 you will see that Jason, Zack and Trini were barely seen in the show and they had body doubles and voice doubles and you could only see their backs and they used old footage to make it look like and seem like they were still in the show when they weren't and when the Power Rangers give their powers away and when they lose their powers they demorph they go back to looking like civilians they don't look like Power Rangers anymore their not in their ranger form anymore they look like people they go back to looking like people and also they gave their powers to the new rangers
@Connor Williams yeah you're right but their is a reason for that there is a reason why Rocky wasn't in forever red. He was gonna be in the forever red episode but he moved and they couldn't get in contact with him and when they couldn't get in contact with him he lost his chance and missed out on his opportunity to be in that episode so the contact Jason. That's why they got Jason instead of Rocky. There is a video on TH-cam of Rocky saying that and another video on TH-cam of Tommy saying that he didn't want Jason he wanted Rocky
In regards to the restored Rangers in Forever Red, I figured Lightspeed Rescue and/or The Silver Guardians collected and restored any morpher they could. For emergencies but mainly just to study.
The reason why jason had his morpher intact was because he never lost it to begin with. When a transfer of colors were made during the battle of Zedd, Jason was still in ranger form after the transfer was complete. Which is the reason I believe he still had the morpher.
Ninjor never gave Zordon the coins. Alpha said they found them along with the map that led them to Ninjor.

They should make a power ranger Hexgon series in the comics and will they adapt the skipped sentai seasons and explain and upon the rangers powers and the morphin grid
The reason Jason has his morpher still is because he never lost it. He left with it AFTER copying his powers for Rocky with that sword with the crystals in it.
Zack lost his in a dance off against MJ and Trini gave it up for peace

This is the lore that is actually cannon. They were not in the fight that destroyed the rangers connection to the morphing grid in the fight against Rito so Jason, Trini, and Zach never lose their original powers.

I don't think the OG Red, Black, and Yellow Ranger ever really lost their power. It's been a super long time, but I believe the dialogue in the episode stated that their powers had been copied/duplicated for the new rangers.
As a kid I watched up to whenever the Zeo Rangers symbols were being drawn out either during or after the Power Rangers episodes. As an adult, I'm amazed in how big the Rangers universe has been expanded. I'm grateful for this channel to help me catch up and learn things I didn't know.
You know what I always wondered why Adam had that damaged morpher. This finally answers it as Zedd and Rita destroyed the Ninja power coins. So when he used the command black ranger power instead of mastodon it was a different power coin.
I have an idea for a future video, if you're interested. It'll take a bit of fictional skill, though.
Perhaps the creation of a What If series. What if Billy had actually become the Gold Ranger? What if Justin had gone to space with the others at the end of Turbo? What if Bulk and Skull had been given Power Coins at the beginning of Mighty Morphin? lol What if Adam had fixed his Power Coin and returned full time to helping the rangers In Space?

what a great video! you really did your homework for this one. I'm been watching Power Rangers from the very beginning with my daughter. We're not far in to Zeo at the moment but it's really interesting to see what happened to all of the old zord and how their powers have transitioned from one to another... Kimberly is still the best pink ranger!
Jasons morpher is explained in a comic book. He fought a Dark version of the Red Ranger and after the fight took it's morpher

@Jay P. It is the Marvel comics to which you are referring to. @Dboy4100X3 The Marvel comics are canon as far as i know of. They take place during Seasons 2 and 3 of the MMPR TV series.
Jason didn't have to repair his morpher and coin. He had the original. The one that got destroyed was the cloned morpher and coin that was created during the power transfer with the sword of light

I have the same question. Where does this information comes from? Any of the comics? Where are the other 3 coins?
5 originals, green ranger, white ranger, would leave 2. I’m wondering if Titanus would have had a coin for him as we didn’t see a ranger and neither did Sentai.

@@pixelated.dreams As jorge pointed out the video said that Ninjor created nine. So if Zordon and alpha made the white, then that color doesn't count. Which means that there are 3 unaccounted for.
@@Ajax1063 hmm that’s true. I’d still speculate that there may have been a coin they used for form the White Tiger Coin, as it would fit perfectly if there was one for Titanus and then one for Tor. Both Zords linked to Coins but no Rangers. As then after that Ninjor made 6 new coins for the Ninja Zords.

Actually, the Dragon power coin was obtained by Rita Repulsa in the distant past, before she was sealed away.
While she was out conquering the galaxy, she was looking for the coin. Eventually she found its location and invaded the alien planet it was on. The planet was was inhabited by a warrior species. She defeated and subjugated them, and took the coin (their most sacred relic) and its power for herself.
The Power Rangers (2017) movie got it half right when they said that Rita was the original Green Ranger.
All of this is from the BOOM! Comics series "Go Go Power Rangers" (issue 15 I believe, or somewhere around there)
That's a different continuity from the original show.

Jason never gave up his morpher and powercoin. The sword of power duplicated the morphers and coins of the T-Rex, Mastodon and Saber-tooth Tiger. Jason's morpher most likely reconnected to the morphing grid after Rocky's mopher and coin were damaged.
Makes sense, but I guess the "reconnection" must have taken some years to happen - else why wouldn't he have just morphed into MMPR Red once the Gold Zeo Powers began to fail him at the end of Zeo? Likewise, why wouldn't he have morphed in the Turbo Movie?
I mean I guess he could have left it at home, but I think it's quite likely ex-Rangers carry their morpher around with them just in-case the same way it appears Adam did in In Space (though too that episode was strange in that, if he was to carry one around with him, why would he carry a busted up Mastodon Coin and Morpher instead of his Zeonizers? I guess the morpher takes up less space, but still - had the Zeo powers already grown so strong by that point they were more unstable that a charred Mastodon Coin?).
One things for sure - if Hasbro ever decide to fix plot-holes in the PR timeline, they've got ample situations with which to start with lol.
I think Ninjor just has an easier time creating power coins, perhaps he created the OG coins and hid them in the desert, Zordon got 5 of them while Rita got green, the rangers used these, then lost their Dino Zords, Zordon created the new Thunder Zords by using the Dino Zords as a base, this allowed he rangers to command the Thunder Zords as the Dino Zords still tied into their powers, I also like to think Zordon created the Dai Ranger powers as a back up incase the rangers lost their powers, as luck would have it, Tommy was the only one to lose his powers, thus why the other rangers still use their main powers and Tommy was the only one to use the Dai Ranger powers. eventually they lose the Thunder Zords and their powers, thus Zordon is forced to send them to find Ninjor, I like to think Ninjor created the Alien Ranger powers alongside the Shogun and Ninja Zords. He then gave the powers to the Alien Rangers, but kept the Zords on Earth as Aquatar doesn't face that many dangers like Earth does, so they only needed their Battle Borgs for bigger threats, so when the main rangers come to Ninjor, he creates the ninja power coins tied to ninja powers, basically duplicating the process for the Alien Ranger powers, but tying them into the OG powers, thus that is why the rangers keep their main powers, just tied to new source. Like how using the Dino Zords as the base allowed them to command the Thunder Zords, by duplicating the source of the ninja powers, their new ninja coins allowed them to command the Ninja and Shogun Zords. And then shi goes down at the end of the show and they get the Zeo Powers, thus from then on new powers are just created for new teams from different sources and by different people, all these method tapping into the Morphing Grid through different means, whether it be an ancient power source like the Dino Gems, Energems, Quasar Sabers. Or through artificial means like SPD, RPM, or Morph-x with Beast Morphers. Honestly alot of this is pretty cool to try and think about, and adds a bit more depth to becoming a Power Ranger.
Dai Ranger Powers?
@@trealsteve Gosei Sentai Dairanger, it's the name of the Super Sentai series that came after the one MMPR was adapted from. For MMPR Season 2, they brought in the White Ranger from Dairanger, as well as their Zords as the Thunder Zords. During Super Megaforce we see some Super Sentai powers used but never explained WHERE they came from or who might have used those powers. My comment is simply an idea I had to explain why the Dairanger powers were never used. Basically only White was needed since Tommy had no more powers, and the other Rangers still had their's, Thus why the Dairanger powers were never used.

@@TheZamaron Makes narrative sense for why the first three seasons (MMPR) characters only changed Zords and not costumes. Lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if a similar retcon happens in the comics.
Here’s a theory maybe the original power coins were restored during the finale of the In Space season when Zordon sacrificed himself to stop the forces of evil.

jasons coin was cloned as well as the morpher, thus while the copies were drawing the full power of the grid his coin likely had a smaller connection that would probly deal the same type of damage that adam suffered, thats to be said for zach and trini as well once the copy coins were damaged the original coins likely were able to regain full power and the damaged coins gained the very limited morphing abilities
See, I'd like to see an in-depth Netflix Power Ranger series on how Lord Zedd came into power, how Rita came to be, the whole Ninjor-Power Coins/Zordon Deal and his own warriors. That would be awesome.

was gonna chime in on how jason technically still has his power coin and that rocky's was a duplicate but it seems that its been screamed at the top of there lungs already lol, so my thought was jason still has his own coin and adam yes had the broken coin and then a restored one, funny thing tho can one really say the original core 5 rangers showed up in the cross over, granted real world losses... that really was never confirmed which set of 5 mmpr are in the crossovers and we also get karone in the big crossover as the pink lost galaxy ranger when kendrix was in total control of her powers once again at the end of lost galaxy... ranger lore its messy at its easiest lol
The thing about the original power coins which is overlooked.
The ninja power coins were destroyed but the original coins still exist, albeit void of power due to Rito. In theory they could be resurrected.
There was a story in the 90's that the Coins where used in some sort of betting/game between Zordon and Rita, Zordon winning 5 of the coins and using that to seal Rita.
Not sure if the story if cannon or just something that was floating around back in thous days, but it's the one i remember even now 30 years later.

I wish I had a magical coin that gave me superpowers.
This does bring up the interesting fact that the original dino power coins can be restored. I had been thinking that perhaps using the power of the Zeo crystal, they could have also restored the original power coins too and maybe even broke the spell that prevented Tommy from using the green power coin. Imagine if they did that and found a way to combine the power coins with the Zeo ranger powers, with power from the white and green coins being channeled into the original five and a kinda Zeo variant of the dragon shield made for each ranger so they could have a "Super Zeo Mode" of sorts. It would have blown our minds seeing something like that happen when we were kids.
That would be soo cool!
@@the6thranger I always thought the dragon shield would look awesome on the Zeo ranger costumes, but never much liked the Zeo helmets. Would have looked great to have the Zeo shape for each ranger in the center of their "dragon shield" and the helmets change to look similar to Lord Drakkon's.
As well as the "The whole of the power ranger series" in chronological order, if possible? I would like to be completely caught up on the timeline in order. Being that I fell off as I got older & the fact that power rangers is no longer available on Netflix nor was it in chronological order. Thank-you!

It's always confusing who the Rangers are. If you see the Red Power Ranger, is it Jason? Or Rocky? Or is Rocky Zeo Blue? Is TJ the Red Turbo Ranger, or the Blue Space Ranger? Katherine could potentially morph into the Pink Ranger, Zeo Pink, and the Pink Turbo Ranger! Same goes for Adam but he only uses his Mastodon Morpher.

@@PokemonFan1986 I prefer Super Sentai these days. I was a hardcore Power Rangers fan watching from MMPR, up until Dino Thunder when I was 14. I got into Super Sentai in my 20s when I found some episodes online. I've seen all of Gokaiger and Kyoryuger, and I'm currently watching Mirai Sentai Timeranger. I've also seen some 70s Sentai like Jetman and Dynaman but since they're so old they're hard to watch more than one episode.
It's not a hard concept to grasp. The original Power Coins were copied by the Sword of Light, and Jason, Zack & Trini kept their morphers and coins as momentos that were simply deactivated and disconnected from Morphing Grid. This is due as only one ranger can exist at one time with the Power Coins. After Zordon died, Jason somehow reactivated and reconnected his Power Coin to the Morphin Grid and was able to return for the Red Ranger team up in 2002. Just as he returned for the Legendary Battle. Then the Morphin Grid summoned both the Power Coin and Jason in Beast Morphers. Personally I think it must have been Ninjor who restored his connection to the Grid. When Rocky was the Red Ranger for the team up against Draven he had his Ape Ninja Coin in order to Morph, and more than likely had that recreated by Ninjor, like Tommy's Master Morpher which has all his original Power Coins, Zeo Sub Crystal, Dino Gem and Turbo Powers contained within it.
My personal canon diggs deeper into what the coins are made of.
Rangers tapp into the morphing grid in various ways, some by magic, others by science(which leans close to magic), and the rest through various artifacts. Some of these artifactsnmay be imbedded into morphers, but still contain their mystical properties(hey, we're back to magic).
These artifacts are imbued with morphing grid energy(gems, stones, ...), and what is on of the thing we have that can easily be reshaped? Ninja Steel!
Power coins are just a kind of metal imbued with morphing grid energy similar to the ninja steel, shaped into coins by Ninjor.
Note that ninjor is one of zordon friends who can not make new power coins but he can also repair both the power coins themselves and their morphers and another friend of zordon can be seen in the mighty morphin power rangers the movie both her and ninjor can also grant you the powers of the ninjetti powers and also speaking of the mighty morphin power rangers the movie after the rangers got their new powers they should have gone straight back to zordon after ivan ooze destroyed the command center and repair it then whent to fight ivan ooze

Jason's power coin and mopher was never damaged. The original Red, Black, yellow rangers were only power transferred to the 2nd Red, black, yellow rangers.
It was the 2nd Red Ranger Rocky who's Power Coin was damaged.
Jason never lost his powers rocky lost the powers
Basically Jason transferred/gave his powers to rocky making him an ordinary person and not a ranger anymore not until he became the gold zeo ranger.. but thats just it.. it was never explained how he got his red tyrannosaurus powers back... if you base it in the comics tho jason transfered his tyrano powers to rocky but he gained new ones and became the red omega ranger..
I think a Red Turbo Ranger coin was mentioned in the comics.
The turbo powers where past on to tj so thats why he did not used that power no two rangers can use the same power

You mentioned Ninjor made 9 power , assuming Ninjor had a hand in making the white tiger coin what happened to the other 2 ninja coins?
On the 25th anniversary Tommy used his ninja white zord white falconzord so I am not sure about the other ninja coins but Tommy restored because he morphed into white ranger green ranger red zeo and Dino black

I watch all the video and the question is I didn't see the video show turbo ranger and dino thunder ranger coins ,can you find or create another video that will be awesome.
Technically when Tommy/White Ranger in season 2, Zordon only addresses the White ranger powers coming from the light of Goodness and could never be taken away from forces of evil. He didn't have a coin at first on his belt buckle like the others nor was being addressed. His powers were gone like the other's though after the Thunder Zords were destroyed by Rito and control panels damaged inside Command Center. White Ranger does however get a ninja coin with the other's when they get their ninja powers and zords as there's episodes he's seen with it, particularly the episode "The Sound Of Discordia" when Tommy as White Ranger tries to resist giving his coin to the monster. Also there's also the Badges Of Darkness in season 1 that putties used to morph into counter parts of the rangers. Which were not power coins.
So the white tiger power was channeled directly from the command centre rather than a power coin?

What about when Rocky morphed as the Red Mighty Morphin ranger in Super Ninja Steel or are people going to ignore that/neglect poor Rocky

Jason’s powers, (as well as Trini’s and Zack’s) were copied and given to Rocky, when he, Aisha and Adam joined the team, but he didn’t actually lose them.

It's easy to believe they were copied, because Jason, Zack, and Trini didn't de-morph when Rocky, Adam, and Aisha gained their powers. Super thin excuse to hide the fact that none of the departing actors were actually present for the episode haha. It's a stark contrast to the later episode "Different Shades of Pink", where Kimberly just hands Kat her power coin. No Sword of Light needed haha. So it kind of begs the question why the Rangers had to go on such a perilous journey in the first place, just to pass the torch to new Rangers? Maybe they were copied. But then it also begs the question why they needed to be copied, when they clearly didn't do that for Kimberly. LOL Ah well, it's Power Rangers. Writing isn't exactly the show's strong-point.

Jason power morpher and power coin where never destoryed or damage during Rito's attack, it was Rocky's, Jason's Power was transfered to Rocky but never saw them unmorpth.
The show informs us that, even *before* the white coin is created (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) there were nine coins. We know Zordon had five - Pink, Red, Yellow, Blue and Black; and Rita Rerpulsa had the Green coin. We now named 7 of tyhe ten coins; what color were the other three?
so what were the other three coins that Ninjor created, because you said he created nine.
I'm pretty sure he ment 11+. the 6 dino coins and the 5 aquatar rangers. Then he gave the rangers the ninja powers with 6 new coins. Plus the Zeo and Dino Thunder Coins plus in the comics Turbo red coin.

@3:26 I believe he didn't the season 4 ninja coin (Black Ranger Power) to morph, he used the original morpher & Coin that blow up when Rito destroy the thunder Megazord. The Ninja coins were turn in to dusk by Rita & Zed before the Alien Rangers saga.
Can you make a video telling us how the morphing grid is used by the rangers and how it is tapped into. I have a feeling when the grid is tapped it creates a breach and power coins or crystals can be made. I’m going to ask a question that I don’t think too many Power Rangers fans think about so much: why is it that the MMPR didn’t get NEW Power Coins when they got the Thunder Zords?
I mean I alwaysss found it odd that during their morphing sequence going forward they continued to shout the names of their Dino beast when the Zords of such Dino beast were destroyed but never shouted the names of their new Thunder Zord beasts or received new power coins for them. And Bandai and Hasbro or any independent toy/prop creator for that matter had even made valid power coins for the Thunder Zord beasts
Technically there were three sets of power coins; the Dino, the Ninjetti, and the Alien rangers. The White Tiger coin was created to replace thr Dragon Coin. The coins the Alien Rangers had, had the symbols engraved on the Ninja Zords
It always bugged me that if the Crane was Kimberly's animal spirit, and since the coins were tied to them (I think Zordon did something in order to keep Kim alive during that arc I don't remember) then how could Kat access those powers without problems? Was Kimberly a battery of some sort? I don't know that just bothers me I guess.
As for Jason having a the Tyrannosaurus coin I always just thought (well assumed really) the Sword of Light made copies and thus Aisha, Adam and Rocky had copies while Zack, Trini and Jason retain the originals, but again that's just me (and this is of course not including comic book explanations)
They separated the power from the user after Kimberly almost died from losing her coins. Deciding having them connected to the user left the individual ranger in trouble. Which saved them all when zed and rita destroyed the ninja coins later.
They said Lord Drakon used power coins that combined the powers of the Green and white Ranger. Also meaning it was using more focused power off the specific part of the grid it was drawing from. It'd certainly take someone powerful to handle twice as much power from the grid like that.
If I remember correctly, Jason never gave up his morpher and coin, but a replica was made for the new ranger
This does explain a question I've had about how Ninjor was able to instantly recreate the white ranger powers for tommy when he made the ninja coins. When you look at things though, it would have made sense to create more white ranger coins. One for each ranger.Not all at once of course.
The way you worded it, there must be an original team of rangers before what we have on the show.

Nope... Alpha 4 was the first Alpha automaton brought to life by King Lexian of the Planet Edenoi, recruited by Zordon to assist him in his war against evil. Alpha 4 discovered the map to the Temple of Power and along with Zordon searched and found the Power Coins, also helping to build the Command Center as Zordon's post on Earth. When he became obsolete, he was replaced by Alpha 5, who shared the previous Alpha's memories and emotions.

You made a mistake, the tigerzord coin and white ranger power are two separate forms that he calls upon during the show. Also in the uncut version he uses the turbo power in his master morpher.
Agreed white tigerzord is separate coins and ninja white ranger falconzord coin is different but it possibly joint togeather because in the original movie Tommy accessed white tigerzord costume and then used his falconzord so really technically he could use white ninja ranger suit in future
@@lloydjohnlyons The original movie isn't canon. The version of events in the show that led the Rangers to getting the Ninja Powers (including a new set of Power Coins) is canon.
I always assumed the 'Ninjitsu' costumes were the ones tied to the Ninja Coins, and when fully morphed the Rangers just powered up their Dino Suits using the Ninja Coins instead of the Dino Coins, which is why the design didn't change. Similar to how in Season 1 Jason uses the T-Rex Coin to power the Dragonshield and Dragon Dagger when Tommy's Coin is out of power, so too is the White Falcon coin used to power the White Tiger suit when fully morphed using the Ninja Coins ("White Ranger Power!" morphing call instead of "Tigerzord"). I guess with the same logic, if Jason could use the T-Rex coin to power the Dragonzord in Season 1, Tommy could use his repaired White Tigerzord coin to power the White Falconzord in Dimensions in Danger, and yes, maybe even the Ninjitsu suit.

I do have kind of a dispute about the green coin being destroyed. Technically it was recreated after the original coin was destroyed by the wizard of deception. Then it was sent back in time after he cloned Tommy. So theoretically, an intact green power coin is still out there somewhere.
I don't believe that the original green coin was EVER destroyed. The green candle only cut Tommy's connection to the green powers and returned them to Rita, implying that she regained the coin itself. Could also be a reason she escaped Zedd's dumpster.
Green coin was never destroyed. They wizard had repowered it with zedds and Rita's help.
@@sectorsecurity4701 Jason prevented the transfer of the green energy to rita by using it. Most of the powers were gone. Zedd took the rest with the green crystal then Tommy destroyed it. It was no longer safe to zordonto repower the coin to use the green ranger powers.
@@Shadothecat true, BUT, I imagine when Jason handed the coin back to Tommy, the spell took hold again to return the coin to Rita, as the T-rex coin was no longer interfering with the power transfer.

In my opinion in forever red, They just ignored all of the events from previous season and just acted as if it never happened to make a special for a power rangers anniversary I believe.

so first the room the white coin was created in was in another dimension. the reason zordon and alpha where so secretive about creating the white coin is to prevent lord zeds interference.
It's debatable that it was another dimension, but I can see where that comes from. Billy had to key in an access code to a physical door to get there. Also, if it's in another dimension, why would they have any need whatsoever for the screen Billy witnessed from? And why would the door drop Billy directly in front of it?
well since in the MMPR og movie the coins of dinosaurs is technically put to side and the new coins/animals are the ones that got final damage so the black and red rangers morph is sort of valid an or they couldve traveled back to the Ninjetti temple and reacquire the power. perhaps a rejuvenation power pond under the temple for when the coins or power idols are damage in the future? lol or Ninjor traveling back to restore powers to the OG rangers that remain.

There is a lot of inconsistency with all of this, how did Kimberley manage to pass her coin to Kat without the sword they supposedly had to use when Jason, Zack and Trini transferred their powers and also it would supposedly kill her to give it up.
