But its greatest moveset with Fake Out and Parting Shot can be bypassed with Covert Cloak and Clear Amulet respectively. So i curious how it will fair in Gen 9. What is your take on this? 🤔
Covert Cloak and Clear Amulet don't stop Iron Hands, Rillaboom, Lando T, and Arcanine H from dominating, so I doubt it will stop Incineroar, especially since Incineroar was still viable in Gen 8 restricted full of Dynamax pokemon (which could be flinched) and special attackers like Kyogre or Calyrex Shadow. At the end of the day, you only get 1 clear Amulet and Covert Cloak, and Clear Amulet especially isn't great since it means losing what it typically an important item.

I don't hate Incineroar. Nor did i actually use him much. In a game where anything can be knocked out in one move and where players just stack teams with nothing but powerhouse pokemon. They need more pokemon that can put the breaks on that. I never really thought of it as "for the health of the game," but now that you mention it. It really is.
I hate to tell you this, but the more the meta develops, the more it usually leans towards a defensive meta. Towards the end of both SM and SwSh, not counting restricted formats, games went on for a long time because bulky pokemon would typically be vital in a team, and it would be more viable to bring bulky pokemon that would always do something than a frail pokemon that might do nothing. In this recent regionals, Flutter Mane was brought out less than half the times we saw Heatran, Rillaboom, or Iron hands.
@Endershock1678 It's no problem. When I said powerhouse, I wasn't referring to glass cannons. I would also put Iron Hands and Rillaboom in that category. whereas Heatran, although it can serve as an offensive pokemon. It's good typing tends to make some players use it more defensive as a pivot or counter to many offensive pokemon. Ground being one of the easiest move-types to counter via Immunity, Ability or Resistance helps Heatran do its job when used like this. Heatran is more in the middle ground between something like Great Tusk(Powerhouse) and Umbreon(Wall/Defensive). Apart from Burning and setting up Stealth Rocks, Heatran dont have much movepool utility to be considered Supportive like Incineroar. So when used defensively Heatran still mostly tries to dish out damage via type coverage.
I think that what they did witj Incineroar is great. It doesn't have any game breaking abilities or moves (Looking at Urshifu) but still manages to dominate via great support tools and balanced stats. Also idk I just like seeing a starter dominate for once instead of Box/DLC legendary number 94

Blaziken will never be used sadly since chi yu is just a better option for a fire type (also incin destroys blaziken) blaziken is frail, so 1 fake out and a partner to target it and bye bye, or even worse lets say u get blaziken in clean into incin (in a 2v2) incin will just tank a cc and parting shot u until ur attack is 0
I do like the defensive utility of incineroar. I wish it was nerfed a little though, so other defensive options were more viable. Intimidate, fake out, a switching move together with good typing and stats make it hard not to use. Maybe taking away access to switch-out moves like u-turn and parting shot would help, so that cycling it in and out becomes a bit harder could help
Then again, Intimidate did get somewhat of a nerf with certain abilities like Scrappy and Own Tempo being immune to it, but I see your point. I'm ngl tho, I am somewhat biased to Incineroar since it was my first & favorite Pokemon

Intimidate needs a nerf. Hopefully the next gen, it will work only once similarly to Intrepid Sword ability. Incin will still be good with the nerf, but it’s overcentralizing

Nah he’s comin trust
@@skrawvgc honestly I hope not (entei and arcanine h. definitely have not my family hostage I swear )
@@nataledesposito2075I did a quick search. It's 2nd in usage ATM, only flutter has more.
I fricking love Incineroar its my favorite pokemon
And now it has knock off, helping hand and CC. This year's VGC is gonna be filled with these guys
It has Zangief's harassment and I like it. It's like a Gigachad Garfield
I just realised that my favorite pokemon primarina is coming back
Urshifu Single Strike can also hit incineroar with Super Effective Damage.
I see we forgot Greninja or Excadrill happened
Cant wait for the return of the king, i love him and will enjoy roasting and annoying everyone with fake out, intimidate
Its crazy that the 4th fire/fighting type is the strongest one
It’s fire dark
Yea, Incinerawr - that one Puss-in-boots that gets outsped by Breloom , put to sleep and absolutely dunked on by an SD Drain Punch. Well done. 😄
INCINEROAR GANG WYA
Ah yes Incineroar the Legendary Pokemon of VGC
Why am I getting a cdc covid disclaimer 😂😂🙈
Because I mentioned COVID!
Hyped to see blaziken vs incineroar matches hopefully
@@alolanchampion yea and also the items clear amulet and covert cloak stops intimidate and fake out respectively
@@what.are.you.doing.stepbrothing is that makes u lose a choice or life orb or recovery on a mon to do that also it hasnt stoped Lando from going ham RK9 from being great gyarados being useful for once yes the items are nice but u can only use 1 on a team so unless u planning to drop ur bands and scarf and risk losing KO ranges probably wont be worth
@@jasperhoek4678 there's enough options to prevent it. What else do you want? Its not like they gave Incineroar 200 base attack, special attack and speed. Incineroar does not OHKO or 2HKO most of the mons. All he does is slows down the powerhouses which is necessary bc of the increasing powercreep of the newer generations mons
@@what.are.you.doing.stepbro He doesnt just slow down he crippels mons, and enables ur own offensive power houses to shine more. Yes Incin does slow games down but in the end with Incin a lot of games become a repeat. since he forces u to use certain mons but cuz they counter incin but because if u dont use them incin his partners will run away with the game. I cant put it really into words (also the 200 atk stat is irrelavent he is a defensive mon not offensive they can gie him 20 more atk and the game wont change much but if they give it 10 more bulk its a problem)
This is only truth to very very competitive players. I bet majority of those who watched the video is happy to see their favorite pokemon come back. I just started to play ranked with some pokemons that I like. I play singles, so I don't see Incineroar very much, but I think the way people work around the new games iteration tells more about people wanting to keep using it them the actual pokemon
Speed boost blaziken: that's about it?
Well I don't see Blaziken in VGC usage last time I checked, and idk if it wants to deal with urshifu rapid strike's surging strikes and water ogerpons ivy cudgels atm
@@gabrielchee8470 cuz it's so strong that it's banned 😂
@@quiteshayne00 last time I checked, VGC doesn't ban stuff like Smogon.
The players just suck it up and find ways to utilize or deal with broken mons like flutter mane or urshifu. They may complain, but they'll still try and figure out ways around stuff.
Since the word pokemon is also plural i thought there would be more pokemon like a list lol
And now incin gets helping hand😳
Incineroar is my favorite fire starter, but my god it’s dreadful to run into online
Im so happy. Litten haters suffer
a banger!! great vid
If you can't beat em, join em
Why would you ever be scared of the best defensive pokemon that helps makes balance even better?
Intimidate needs a nerf. Hopefully the next gen, it will work only once similarly to Intrepid Sword ability. Incin will still be good with the nerf, but it’s overcentralizing
Nah, nerfing a tool that slows the game down and keeps power mons in check is a good thing
Nah, Intimidate already got plenty of counterplay in new items and abilities blocking it, nerfing it to inteprid sword will make it basically useless
Also I only watched the short so no way of knowing he's talking about vgc. It says best dark type gen 2 t-tar that's it.
Gotta say part of my issue is that I don’t use legendaries
Most dominant in history is a reaaaaach. Maybe most dominant in one battle mode for a few years.
Poor Hisuian Arcanine
He’s dominant you say? 👀👀👀👀
Mana... all the physical focused gameplay makes me wish for a special attack/defense meta.
Yeah I wish there was more special counterplay, like special intimidate or bring frostbite back
@@patrickripleyiii134 special intimidate I would want. Frostbite can rot off.
what tf is wrong with game freak honestly. they definitely made incineroar broken on purpose
What it got Knock Off and Parting Shot at the same time
No it lost knock for parting
*What If
Was Blaziken in singles what Incineroar is in doubles?
Nah inci is definitely better in doubles than Blaziken is good in singles
Incineroar is goat, but without locking transfer to scarlet and violet 💀
But finally new DLC can added all starters im glad LETS GO!
You said it. I have a friend of mine who's favorite mon is Incineroar, and their excited for it returning
In nba terms where does incanroar place in the vgc goat debate
i am scared to see how it interacts with gholdengo
Ghold is just gonna be never used again. It loses purely on type matchup the only KO chance it has is FB but even then if we invest into sdef which with mons like bundle running around we will its gonna be cooked
Cat of the healthy meta
Whimsicott and excadrill are coming back but not togekiss :(
When a dominant force meets another, most would think they would test each other in battle, then did but on the same side,
Their are legends of the graveyard of pride it's fuller then the ones we're familiar with, don't be prideful the most prideful thing is in an entire loop of failure
(😂How did I loop this around into a proverb🤣)
Why is there a COVID awareness tag
Because I mentioned COVID shutting the circuit down
Love the yugioh music
Yall scared about Incineroar? Smeargle coming too lol.
He's so dominant 🥰
As a noob to vgc, i struggle to understand these videos. I still watch them to attempt to learn, but i still dont understand what people mean online when they say a pokemon won a event. I'm just trying to learn here, dont be cruel.
