Love your drum kits, just copped them (1 and 2 as bonus!). Now im into making my own kits using local (Dutch) drum breaks for some new sounds! I process them also by sampling into akai S950
People, Dj Pain's channel is one of the if not the best channel for producers. His channel is just dripping with sauce. He deserves at least 500k, and I hope he'll get there soon, because he deserves it.
dude , I totally agree with this video...you know what else they are doing? downloading cracked vsts , ive done it , almost everyone did that and does till this day...BUT people are actually selling this! ....yeah , they download cracked vsts and sell them , dude....the ignorance , the audacity...unbelievable. thumb ups for the vid! respect!
@@DJPain1 thats right...''plugin bundle''....''omnisphere , serum , nexus '' = 20 $ , lol...If that isnt a slap in the face for the creators , I dont know what is.
You're absolutely right. Who wanna sell sample packs should make their samples. Unfortunately, it's not always the case. I found myself making tutorials or demoing plugins with Logic stock (and free) loops and too many times I have copyright notice from "some guy" that is clearly not Apple. That's really bad for all the other little producer that works hard to make original samples and are trying to make a career in the sound design world. Thanks for your useful video, stay safe and have a great day.
Yeah I have watched people steal on live streams and call it original sound designed kits with distortion effects added pulled from an old drum machine. I think people are so accustomed to stealing that they don't understand what is original. Thanks for the info!! This made me step back on your first video and re-evaluate how I was creating sounds.
To be honest, I chose this video expecting you to give me a detailed description about synthesis. You did not do that, and yet you pointed me to 5 solid tutorials! Honestly couldn’t be happier and keep it up king!
Love how in depth you went in this video. Especially the fact that you took the time to show other sound design channels as well. I think it drove home the message!
Great information here. Making your own one shots/sounds is what will give you, the producer, your own, unique, distinct, sound. It is time consuming but may very well be worth it in the end. I'm writing while listening, so excuse me if Pain covered, but adding Foley (i.e your own recordings of bouncing a tennis ball, to hitting a brick with a piece of rebar. Literally ANYTHING)!! sounds to your kicks and snares, and mixing them to taste, are HUGE. BTW, Pain, I see you climbing to the 100K subscriber spot! I remember you had 70 something K a year or so ago. Much love and support over here........for your videos, that have given me inspiration, and knowledge on top of what I know and have learned throughout my career. Peace!
Just like that sound in David Banner's hit "Run", from early 2000's, was straight out the Yamaha Motif. It's been in quite a few other songs as well. It was like a kick, a snare, a crash cymbal, and a stomp all in one. But the beat was so smooth.
I am so stocked up after copping your drumkits I will never need to make any but good to know. I plan on getting a mic soon then I will put this to use. Much appreciated as always.
I originally got into music production because I wanted to do sound design and in the last 3 years I have just went in another direction, I got back from deployment and was on leave, had nothing else to do one day. And loaded up recorded sounds from my cheap ass H1. Fucking love those sounds. I opened a can of cat food, tweaked it. R&B snare!!! I need to get back into sound design. It's a whole nother level.
one project im working on is playing Keyboard kits to a keyboard amp and mic ing it and capturing it. sounds a bit real long rabbit hole.. but its really good
I spent hours researching "royalty free" drum kits and man I'm happy that I stumbled up on your video. The search is over, Imma make my own drum kit for my beats. It's the simplest answer (even though I know its gonna take me a hot minute to learn sound design). Thank you.
Hell yeah great video! I just got Acid pro 10. I admire how fast you navigate thru the program. Must have taken you years! So how are you adjusting the wave forms on the keypad? I keep having to adjust em with the mouse
Real talk. I bought a drum and sound pack from a very well known YT beatmaker and it was full of samples, but not even sample info was included, let alone any legal info. How can you be expected to use something like that in a beat where you're expected to tell the artist sample clearance info?
this is dope, however my question is this...how does a up and coming producer get acknowledged or stand out from the crowd if he has original sounds?? aside from just grinding and getting yaself out there like how do u get people to know like "hey my shyt is all original?? cause some of these other guys be promoting it like that and its clearly not lol
They will know it's original because they have never heard the sound before dude. Also go outside and socialize you will need to build relationships with people.
I would like to have an 808 kit with really deep, really smooth, 808 bass sounds. I don't like the distorted 808's that people are using in today's music.i like the early 90's era production. And I like how they used snare samples from the 70's in the music. (That hitting a cardboard box-type sound.) As a matter of fact, do you remember when music had a feeling? The sound was so good that it had a feeling and changed your mood instantly. Like "It Ain't Hard To Tell" by Nas. Why aren't we getting any more music like that in today's world? Maybe I'm just nostalgic and reminiscing. Great video though. The plaques are looking nice and shiny on the wall bro.lol.congratulations.
Music today still has a feeling, but you’re always going to have a bias toward the type of music you fell in love with first, the feeling you get from 90s music is the same feeling kids get from trap music today, music is very generational which makes it even more special🔥👌🏽
Don’t steal my drum kicks or snare sounds! 😂😂😂 This sounds like the goat-farming allegory (not my allegory): “I thought using loops was cheating, so I programmed my own samples. I then thought using samples cheating, so I recorded real drums. I then thought that programming it was cheating, so I learned to play drums for real. I then thought using bought drums was cheating, so I learned to make my own. I then thought using premade skins was cheating, so I killed a goat and skinned it. I then thought that was cheating too, so I grew my own goat from a baby goat. I also think that is cheating, but I'm not sure where to go from here. I haven't made any music lately, what with the goat farming and all."
