We NEED to see a flashback of this. Bulldog hitting those high notes (assumingly BADLY) is comedy gold ready to be written. Make it happen. Even if it's just a cameo. Canon gauntlet has been thrown down....make it so.

That guy who plays Frasier's son seriously cannot act

Dude, I love bulldog but I find it hard to believe he’s even heard of ave Maria, let alone that he’d sing it in public

Are you sure? I can so see Bulldog growing up and being sent to a Catholic Private school as his parents tried to "fix" his blossoming delinquent behaviour. Being forced to church and learn Ave Maria as a child to sing in the Sunday choir. Even identified early as having the perfect prepubescent voice only to come crashing down in failure as his voice cracked with puberty just before his teenage biggest performance (insert Peter Brady story line here). This so could be a perfect flashback storyline for Bulldog and the reason he's such a pig with low morals to make up for the repression he had as a kid as well as, always trying to "over perform" when given a microphone. Believe me, I went to Catholic Private school if anything it taught me, was I wanted to be BAD as soon as I got out. Dunno, think this would make a perfect back story for Bulldog. The origin story writes itself. To hear Bulldog try and recreate and correct his previous glorious failed attempt at Ave Maria would be comedy gold. @@BestSitcomEver

The show is ok, but not even close to the class, wit and magic of the original Frasier seasons. What were they thinking? Or even better, what was Kelsey thinking? Why dilute the iconic status of Frasier with such mediocrity?

Um, nice to judge based on just two episodes. This show has a HUGE bar to live up to...more so than probably any other sitcom that came before. I recall many said the same thing when Frasier first aired after Cheers. It would NEVER match up to the original series. So here we are. I've watched the first couple episodes a few times now...and see every character having potential. The chemistry IS there...just needs time for them to gel as an ensemble cast. It will come. Also take into consideration character arcs. Niles, Roz, Daphne, Martin all were rough and unlikable characters in the beginning. However, their stories, growth and development over the seasons is what we fell in love with. Give this show the same chance.

@@dinocub1 Well, I hope you are right, but I doubt it. "Frasier" has set the bar too high, it was a very special show, the chemistry between characters and the writing were brilliant. Even Frasier's apartament was excellent, it almost became an important character itself.

Speaks volumes they couldn't even get David Hyde Pierce to reprise his role as a regular cast member. Really disappointed with this "new" season.

This reboot is missing Niles so much 😢 although in fairness the young whippersnapper playing his son is trying his best to play a spergy version of his pops.

This is NOT a reboot, it's a 3rd act. David stated a few years back he didn't feel the need to go back and recreate anything. It was perfect how he ended it with his portrayal of Niles. Not much he could do to make it any better. i.e. why mess with perfection we already have. However, should there be a good script he wasn't opposed to making a cameo appearance. So never say never. The worst thing a beloved supporting character could do, is to come back in a new show to take the limelight away from new characters trying to get themselves solidified in their roles. An actor of a bigger ego, wouldn't have taken such a step back and David should be applauded as such. We're only two episodes in...give it a chance. LOVE the guy playing David (Niles and Daphne's son). He's got potential and was a good choice by the producers and Kelsey to fill that gap...give him at least two more episodes before passing judgment. I think by the end of this season we're all going to love it.
