Great tips - as a morning person too, I feel this is the best time of the day. My favourite thing to do (call we weird if you like!) is to be in a city very early in the am, when all the trucks (lorries) are delivering and the city is waking up. Something really special about being in a huge bustling city with hardly anyone about!
I find that planning your outfit or what makeup your going to wear the next day helps alot too, it puts your mind at rest so your not thinking about what you should wear when trying to get to sleep and also just gets you excited to put the outfit or makeup on when the alarm goes off in the morning! I don't know if this is just me bcos im a fashion/makeup fanatic but works for me:) xo
I just adore your vids Anna and this is no exception. I have been watching for years and I love all your content! Its really obvious that you try to create thoughtful, original subject matter. Thanks for your hard work.
I'm an early bird too. I find that it helps to set an alarm 15 min before I need to go to bed. This gives me enough time for bedtime rituals and keeps me from staying up too late. Love your videos, Anna! :)
Agreed! That helps a lot. Also,I dont like to wake up and have to get up immediately so I set a couple od alarms that are 10-15 minutes apart so I can gradually wake up.
Very helpful tips Anna! My favourite tip is to write a to do list for the next day before bed. I feel like it saves so much time in the morning and clears my (overworked) brain :) xx
i became a morning person while i was in uni.. i used to wake up early to study and felt so productive so i kept at it in general. i don't even sleep in on the weekends either bc i find that it throughs my routine off! great vid xo
Anna, in just so in awe of you! You are just one of those people who really has their sh*t together and you're trying to teach my your ways! Thank you!
Loved your comment about kids! I love waking up early and am a definite morning person, and that helps with a baby who likes to wake up before the alarm. My sister is a night owl and her baby makes her life a definite struggle!
Great tips, I agree with all of them! I usually wake up around 7am and it's so great to take full advantage of the morning and get your stuff done before midday... then RELAX! I must prefer it this way round rather than moping about and then staying up late with work.
Anna, you are such an inspiration...not only for getting up early, but your infectious positivity! I cannot help but smile throughout your entire video:)
Definitely gonna try and go to bed early this morning, and wake up early tomorrow! Been struggling so much with waking up early but this has motivated me! x
LOVE mornings, totally agree that for me anyway, my best work gets done early in the day. This video was great Anna, your whole set up is looking really good at the moment and your hair is looking so beaut and sleek!
For me what gets me up in the morning is: Not going to bed too ridiculously late Having a gentle alarm like folk music or bird song rather than a harsh jarring alarm noise which startles me Drinking a large glass of water the moment I get up Going for a short walk outside. Even just a 5 minute stroll in the fresh air and even in the rain, I feel so much more in tune with the day!
Your breakfast looks so yummy! This video has definitely given me some motivation to get up a little earlier, thanks for the tips Anna! Also, your hair looks lovely straight! :) xx
i incorporated your tips, especially going to bed early and alarm tricks, it is working for me and i feel that i get alot of things done. thanks so much.
i'm the type to need some music in the morning. i wake up at 530 for work at 7, monday through friday, and i play some music on my phone at my makeup desk while i get ready i have a playlist i made myself on spotify that has some really good upbeat songs, and those usually throw me into a good mood! although my body wants to crash at 2 pm, i can't since i work as a nanny. i do all these tips too - trying very hard to read instead of scrolling on the phone. that's one thing i've gotta work on! thank you for sharing these anna :D
So not a morning person by nature, but brilliant bootcamp & barre classes (ranging from a 5.45 start to a 6:30 start) mean I've gotten myself into the habit. They're my thing to look forward to! I lay out my gear the night before so make sure I get dressed, fill up my drink bottle and leave the house right away, which leaves no room for sneaky 'sack it off' thoughts. 5 minutes down the road and I feel great. Summer time/Daylight Saving ended in Sydney today, too - which should make an early night & early start **that** bit easier tomorrow!
Yes Anna! I so needed this. I suck at actually getting out of bed early in the morning but feel so much better when I actually do it. These tips really helped. Will put them to work tomorrow 😊👍🏼
Thank you so so much for this vlog Anna. I'm totally the same- I'm a morning person and pretty done by 1pm. I run my business from home, and collect my daughter from school at 3.20 anyway, so need to wrap up anyway by around 2ish for some lunch and dinner prepping. I set my alarm 15 minutes early this morning, and that was a great way to get me started and focused for my day. I'm definitely going to continue this practice and like you said, feel like a boss for getting through my to do list by midday!💪🏽
I used to sleep in till 10-11AM, but I'm totally a morning person now! I just hate the feeling of getting up and immediately having to get ready and start my day. I get up early, take care of my pets, fix my breakfast and just enjoy some time for myself while I watch some Netflix and enjoy my coffee. It makes me feel relaxed and like I'm not rushing through my day without any time for myself!
Just one question, 7am is late for you??? I will never be a morning person, I seriously don't understand the benefits...like I need to sleep until 10 am at least, or I look like a zombie!
There's a feature on iPhone and iPad called night shift. It sort of replaces that blue light of the screen with a more yellowish tone, and is supposed to help with sleep. Tried it last night and quite liked it! ☺️
Oh Anna, I love that you're so enthusiastic about being a morning person! I can't see a time when I'd ever naturally be a morning person. I've tried various things but honestly it feels very biological! My husband is the total opposite and sometimes it makes things tough! May give some of your tips a go and try to move more in the morning direction!
Great video Anna! I am with you on 'First Dates' haha. I am addicted but I catch up the day after. 10pm viewing is waaay too late for me if i want to get up fresh(ish) in the morning :) x
As a fellow morning person, I can attest that a good morning starts the night before! :) Couldn't be without my ear plugs lol. By the way, LOVE your straight hair - so chic!
Extra tip : The night before, make an actual list of what you want to accomplish the next day. It helps to see it written down, and also it motivates you to actually start working instead of thinking "oh,it's still early, I've got time" ( a.k.a. procrastination, a.k.a. story of my life!) If you make a decision to wake up early you might as well be productive!💪🏻
That's a great idea!:)I'll try it tonight, thanks! P.s.:You look lovely Ana,great video! Maybe yYpu could do a video about some "Routines"! Like how do you plan for holiday, what you do before, prepare or how do you organize your home, styling, some storage ideas!:)
My natural time to go to bed is 2am... and then sleep till noon... but actually I have to get up at 6:30am so I really have to change my rythm again...
During my engineering uni days, I used to work very long hours throughout the night and early mornings to finish all my projects and I definitely do not miss that type of schedule. I have completely converted to being a morning person now and I usually get up at 6am so I can be at the office by 7.30am. Because I work in research and have a very flexible work schedule, it means I can avoid tube rush hour in London (horribleeee!), get all my work done by lunch time and leave earlier than all my colleagues ahah :D I personally don't like to scroll social media in the morning, it just adds unnecessary stress to my morning, so I keep my phone on airplane mode until I get to the tube or the office :) Your videos are amazing, I always enjoy watching them. Beijinhos (kisses in Portuguese) :D
My Dad was the same. Now my youngest (who has autism which even needs melatonin to help him settle) likes a very early start and not much sleep too I have learnt to enjoy those early hours...well the ones after 4am lol Loving your videos Anna. Thank you!:)x
By mid afternoon, I'm sooooooo over it as well! The only thing is that I am a full time mama to a 2 year old energetic little girl, and a part time online student who stays up way too late at night. Going to bed with a book at 10 o'clock would do me good. Thanks for the inspiration! 📖💤
I'm currently finishing up university (will be done in August woo!) and am waitressing part time in the evenings to help pay for school, but I'm already really excited to be done and to switch over to a more regular schedule so that I can re-become a morning person.
I don't mind waking up early. I usually wake up one hour before I have to go to work and I love all my morning rituals :) especially now that spring arrived and it's nice and warm outside :) xoxo
I REALLY NEEDED THIS THANK YOUUUUU!!! my exams are in 29 days and i really wanna study in the morning so thank you thank youuu hahahaha your videos are always on point!
I really get you. I'm a morning-person as well. I get up every morning at 5 am. I have to drive to work at 6:50 am, so this gives me quite some time to start the day slowly. I hate being in a rush in the morning and I love having time to enjoy my morning-coffee with youtube videos or an episode of something on netflix. This also gives me time to sometimes going to the gym in the morning at 5:30 or leaving for work that earlier, if I need some time to finish someting up. :-)
Great tips - as a morning person too, I feel this is the best time of the day. My favourite thing to do (call we weird if you like!) is to be in a city very early in the am, when all the trucks (lorries) are delivering and the city is waking up. Same here! 😍😂

your hair looks incredible in this video Anna!
Your hair looks AMAZING!!!!!!!
I think its really cute how you just naturally talk about Marc a bit in every video I guess bc he's such a huge part in your life ... you're goals :)
Such helpful tips!!! I've been slowly becoming a morning person and it's making me feel much more productive!
Anna....absolutely loving your content these days!! Xx
Drink a bunch of water when you wake up so if you are Tempted to go back to bed you have to pee. Sounds weird but it works!
🙌🏽
Agreed! That helps a lot. Also,I dont like to wake up and have to get up immediately so I set a couple od alarms that are 10-15 minutes apart so I can gradually wake up.
+charlie lou I will definitely be trying this!! haha
Haha!! Watching this and had a massive nap today when Mr AMR took the baby for a walk.
Very helpful tips Anna! My favourite tip is to write a to do list for the next day before bed. I feel like it saves so much time in the morning and clears my (overworked) brain :) xx

loving the straight hair Anna!
finally updated that hair
Your hair looks amazing!!
Anna, in just so in awe of you! You are just one of those people who really has their sh*t together and you're trying to teach my your ways! Thank you!
Loved your comment about kids! I love waking up early and am a definite morning person, and that helps with a baby who likes to wake up before the alarm. My sister is a night owl and her baby makes her life a definite struggle!
how do you deal with an evening social life? how would for example going for drinks/late dinner impact your routine?
Great tips, I agree with all of them! I usually wake up around 7am and it's so great to take full advantage of the morning and get your stuff done before midday... then RELAX! I must prefer it this way round rather than moping about and then staying up late with work.
Mornings are the best.
Your hair looks amazing straight! Thanks for the tips I'm trying to make my morning a more productive time of the day :D
Anna, you are such an inspiration...not only for getting up early, but your infectious positivity! I cannot help but smile throughout your entire video:)
I'm watching this at 2am and feeling very inadequate!
Definitely gonna try and go to bed early this morning, and wake up early tomorrow! Been struggling so much with waking up early but this has motivated me! x
Love your videos! I use a diffuser for essential oils every night. The one I have by my bed turns itself off after two hours. It's perfect!
LOVE mornings, totally agree that for me anyway, my best work gets done early in the day. This video was great Anna, your whole set up is looking really good at the moment and your hair is looking so beaut and sleek!
It's so nice seeing ur hair straight once in a while!
Another good tip on getting up is working out in the morning! It's the best and really wakes you up!
For me what gets me up in the morning is:
Not going to bed too ridiculously late
Having a gentle alarm like folk music or bird song rather than a harsh jarring alarm noise which startles me
Drinking a large glass of water the moment I get up
Going for a short walk outside. Even just a 5 minute stroll in the fresh air and even in the rain, I feel so much more in tune with the day!
+Philippa Wood This is great advice!
Loved this video Anna! xx
