I'm not getting really good marks but I think I prepared as much as I could and tried to give my best and now I don't regret. It's like I'm okay with the fact that I made such silly mistakes cuz I don't expect and don't want myself to be perfect all the time. It's not that this was the last exam afterall.
Same with mine yesterday I gave up doing maths and I don't regret it.. as I knew I didn't expect to score much because there was someone who had definitely worked hard in the past of the prep. Days! Like fr I tried to score 40 just by practicing 4 four days ...man I had been sick to think that... anyways my heart is too much light as maths is over.. I'll focus on other subjects and improve....now I believe that everything we get or do wrong becomes an experience and helps us not to do it twice..my lesson is to never wait for the last moment!

A maths teacher here. For Q 3 iii, PB = 100/ tan 40. There are 2 ways to calculate this. The complex but obvious way is to read the value of tan 40 = 0.8391 from trig table and then calculate 100/0.8391 = 119.175 ~ 119.18 m. [This division is complex. Also must not round off the value 0.8391 from trig table, will lose accuracy]. But the simpler method is 100/tan40 = 100 cot40 = 100 cot(90-50) = 100 tan50. [Using complementary angles relation learnt in 9th grade; need to convert to tan as trig tables mostly will only have tan values]. Read tan 50= 1.1918 from trig table, hence PB= 119.18 m. [No calculation required at all!]. For next subpart, PD = 100/ root 3. Again 2 methods, complex method is to substitute root 3 = 1.732 and calculate 100/1.732 = 57.736 ~ 57.74 m; easier method is to rationalize the denominator by multiplying root 3 in numerator and denominator, so we get (100 root 3) / 3. Here we substitute root 3 = 1.732, to get 173.2/3, and do a relatively easy division to get 57.733~ 57.73 m. The point is, if the simpler methods are taught, practiced and applied, then the question can be solved with more speed and accuracy, otherwise it will be lengthy and chances of making error will be high. Also Q 6 iv, estimated median from ogive always has a small range of acceptable answers, in this case 35 or 36 both are okay. [It can be confirmed once Icse releases the answer key].

In question 4 (iii) I named the figure as Boat will i lose marks for it
The paper was easy as compared to previous years. Some of the questions were direct from specimen papers.
