For those who don't know, this song isn't just about Paparazzi, but the music industry as a whole. The male producer/manager figure who tricks her into trusting him represents her first manager who SA'd her which resulted in a pregnancy. She had to make the choice to terminate or lose everything she'd worked for. She references this betrayal a lot throughout her career, but this is really the first time she clapped back. It was her big 'fuck you' to him after she broke out and had solidified herself. The transformation she goes through in the video, represents how she built herself back up after the trauma he and the industry as a whole inflicted on her. She fought back, clawed her way to the top & made herself a star. The other girls laying dead around the grounds are his/the industry's other victims and she's getting revenge on her own and their behalf. In the end, she plays him at his own game & kills his career. So many other little hidden messages, as with most of her songs/clips. 'My lashes are dry, purple teardrops I cry - it don't have a price'. Purple teardrops are a reference to drug use and sex with strangers - both common themes of the music scene. So much to unpack in a single song, it often takes me a long time to fully appreciate the little hidden meanings in her work. Some still remains a mystery and I kind of love that lol

I don't think it's about lady diana. More the power the paparazzi have over the famous. Bad publicity will 'kill' their career. The video shows how the pap got photo evidence of their sexual antics and lady gagas fame was damaged as a result, whilst the bf fame soared (he used her to get fame for himself). Showing her dead, then in a wheel chair and slowly getting better (positive publicity and fame). Then she kills her boyfriends fame and career and the pap love her for it. This song isn’t about falling in love with a boy/girl and becoming their stalker. The subject of this song/video is fame itself. Lady gaga wanted to show the violent side of fame. Both she and her boyfriend are chasing fame like it's a lover to the point where it gets destructive. To them, the paparazzi hold the key to fame, or at least they're the thermometer of relevance. So these photographers are the prey of celebrities, not the predators. All while dead models pose as if they were in magazine covers, glamorizing the death of celebrities; She was very interested in this topic since the death of princess Diana who died after being chased by paparazzi. And to think how this video came out around the death of Micheal Jackson and a bit later, the death of Alexander McQueen and Whitney Houston, all of which were huge influences to her, and all of which were destroyed by fame.
For those who don't know, this song isn't just about Paparazzi, but the music industry as a whole. The song that made me understand that she was an artist really worth my time to follow her journey.
By the way Stream Disease!
Possibly the best pop chorus of all time and I'm not even joking.

ScoobyDerp How expressive. Thank you for the tip!
This song isn’t about falling in love with a boy/girl and becoming their stalker. The subject of this song/video is fame itself. Lady gaga wanted to show the violent side of fame. Both she and her boyfriend are chasing fame like it's a lover to the point where it gets destructive. To them, the paparazzi hold the key to fame, or at least they're the thermometer of relevance. So these photographers are the prey of celebrities, not the predators. All while dead models pose as if they were in magazine covers, glamorizing the death of celebrities;
She was very interested in this topic since the death of princess Diana who died after being chased by paparazzi. And to think how this video came out around the death of Micheal Jackson and a bit later, the death of Alexander McQueen and Whitney Houston, all of which were huge influences to her, and all of which were destroyed by fame.
Fabio Silva shut up
Wasn’t she in a car crash
