Meron kaming skylight at gamit namin ay tempered glass na 1/2" ang kapal. medyo may kamahalan pero nakakatipid talaga kasi di mo kailangan magbukas ng ilaw. makikita mo pa ang beauty ng sky.
nag install kami ng skylight sa roofdeck 3rd floor tapat sa hagdan from ground to 2nd floor, sulit sa liwanag grabe hahaha downside is yun nga my heat precipitation medyo mainit pag 11 to 2pm pero ok lng kasi usually during that time nasa kitchen or tulog sa tanghali hahaha cost din is around 20 to 30k for 15mm fiberglass 4x8ft size, tapos custom frame, just need to waterproof it para sure na walang leak pag rainy season... thanks architect :D
but you have to give emphasis also at its cons..besides its cost efficiency, youl have to look at its maintenance cost regardless of its materials ..kailangan nyo frequently nalilinis yan. we are in a humid country and honestly maalikabok at nagmamantsa pag naulan .and also..its location..ask for a professional advice..maybe the location of its placement will not only give you a natural light but also emits heat that could be uncomfortable to you and perhaps will make you spend miore by adding mechanical cooling devices..analyze po maige baka hindi naman po talaga kelangan..palakihan nalang pi ang bintana
@@bulbol1 Agree panyero. Only for those na applicable ito. like yung makikitid talaga ang lote na harap likod lang ang bintana at cannot afford to lose valuable space to have a central lightwell
Yeah its case to case, ganun naman talaga ang architecture and design. Yung architect ko na ang gagawa ng solution niyan hehe 😅😅😅 I can chip in on solution too, I studied Interior Architecture and Design. Maraming solutions kung heat and watermarks lang ang problem. Mas pinoproblema ko pa nga yung leaks kaysa dun sa heat and watermarks.
fyi lang po sir..most skylight frames arr constructed in situ..and before attaching it to the building nakaaply na po ang h2o proof around the area of installation so ung possibilty of leakage arre out of the issue na po kasi ung flow ng water from the skylight will be driectly sliding thru it and nasasalo na sa edges ng connection ng frames..ndi po small deal ang dirt and watermarks kasi it would hamper the clear vision of the sky just like the author is describing when looking up.and heat factor is also a big determinant..if yiu want to achieve minimal cost because of the absence of physical light but on the other hand ul spend buying AC.. ganun din..maraming approach for sure but we as architects oversee the effect of our approach before implemwnting it..
Architect, ang ganda ng mga content mo.. Natututo kami araw-araw.. 2 days ago pa lang ako nag-subscribe sayo pero nasa 10 videos na napananuod ko. Papanuorin ko pa yung iba.. hehe :-D
This is one of trendy features that are nice to look at photos but not practical. In the Philippines where heat and rainfall are on extreme levels, a sky light must be avoided. If your windows are well placed and the building has good cross ventilation and light reception, u don’t need one. Spare the trouble of maintaining one. In addition to the cons given, light exposure in the long run can fade the color or walls, floors and more so furniture.

pero unlike metal ang downside nya po eh nagiging brittle sya (like crackers) in a short span of 5yrs..kasi ung material eh ndi ginawa to withstand unforgiving weather conditions..

Architect any other option po for material ng Skylight? Yung polycarb po kasi maingay talaga pagumuulan. Meron po bang medyo sound resilient. Salamat po. Kudos sa mga content nyo.
Skylight is very practical. Make sure your skylight is manananggal-proof and Aswang-proof.
Peg ko ang solar tube sir ED. I’ve been looking into this for a while and you are the first architect to ever mention this! 👏👏👏

For me, the pros outweights the cons . Honestly, I don't mind the extra cost kasi in the longrun mas makakatipid ka sa kuryente, it's sustainable.

Sir what is the minimum distance ng skylight from a firewall?
It can be right after a firewall as long as the is a vertical barrier wit a height of 400mm minimum from the topmost portion of the skylight finish.
