As a millennials this fascinates me to see my city in my grandparents time when they were alive and well with family and jobs
The rivers were so filthy back then! Remember those pretzels being spread with mustard like that? Memories!
Great footage!
Everyone is looking down at their phones... I mean newspapers.
The Smart Phone = Alien newspaper
Right, if there weren't the phones, there were the newspapers; but then, just like now, everyone was looking down.
I wasn't born yet but I just want to see how the city looked thru my parents eyes
Grew up in Philadelphia and lived in Center City in the 60s.
I love Philly 🥰
Its not the same place it was in the video.
I saw Nan Duskin on Walnut Street wow that was an amazing place to shop. I miss the old Philly.
This might as well be a video of Atlantis. Philadelphia is now just a giant Kensington
Crazy to see the footage of the riverfront before I-95
Yummy pretzel with lots of mustard. 😄
I love lots of mustard too its the little things cold cut samitches smile. Little bottles of coke for us kids my folks had a schmits shaffers or ballentine they kept us cool in the summer taking us to that fountain to play in yeah its the little things. Signed 29th and york st
@@yeoldewomynofportlandorego6905 wonderful memories ❤ yes! And the Samiches most definitely 👍
🤔 Way too much salt on that pretzel 😵🥵
My childhood home is in here!
Thanks for sharing
Loved those pretzels with Gudens mustard heavy on top. Pretzel men with their carts would come down the streets of South Philly every day.
That pretzel was 5 cents each. the picture was two of them together.
Looks peaceful and clean. Far shot from it's current state.
I miss Philadelphia
We would love to have you back. 😄😄😄😄🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
@@creolelady4096 I pray for it - if it is God’s will ❤️
@@lilianahorjea8183 well, where do you live, now?!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US PHILADELPHIA PA FISHTOWN PEOPLE........ ROBBIE PHILADELPHIA PA FISHTOWN
Not one person doing the dope lean.
Because they were put in mental institutions back then
I-76 by 30th street and no traffic lol
Crazy how it looks exactly like it does today.
Except the people are darker.
John Miller black people were already there ya ditz, and the areas they showed in this video have the exact same demographic
@@JokersAce0 Ok, don't get black lives matter on me.
John Miller Then don't get ignorant on us. See how that works?!
@@johnny1963ify brown people never started that slogan fool. Your people did
Just found this video. At the 23 second mark when the video first starts there is a man that looks exactly like Jack Webb (Sgt. Joe Friday) from Dragnet. Maybe its him?
No it's not him!
Seems like just the right amount of diversity.
Too much mustard on that pretzel.
This film is strange, no cohesion.
The caucasians did tremendous harm to this city?
woopi fuckin DOO
Where are the brown people????
I am 67 back then, they didn't have us too much on film. Unless the police were mistreating us. Then we would make the news. I can remember so much growing up as a child.
Who the hell cares? Do you watch videos of the Harlem Renaissance and say, "Where are all the white people?" Piss off.
@creolelady4096 hi what was it like for you and your family during that time period. I'm really curious if you dont mind my asking.
This is before they destroyed it.
