Around the 13 minute mark when the pianists trade places,, the short man with white spats on is none other than Donald Lambert at a young age, 28 years old! I believe this is the earliest age his music was recorded at, and judging by the hand movements i believe he actually was playing live here unlike most videos synched with music. He is recognized in the film "Veiled Aristocrats" officially of the same year but for some reason has yet to be recognized in this film officially. I don't believe he was ever filmed again until the Newport Jazz Festival of 1960 where he participated in the "Stride All Stars" program. Simply marvelous.
@@marshunnaclark5829 I did intend that to be taken ironically (hence the quotes). Watching this film, nevertheless, I repeatedly was struck by images/motifs/choices that very strongly recalled moments from Wood works -- but given that his efforts obviously predate those of "the world's worst filmmaker", I realize that my question really should have been: Was Ed Wood, Jr. the "White Oscar Micheaux"?
@@kenlieck7756 You'd have to forgive me... irony addressed to my people creates a short fuse within me these days. If Ed Wood jr. were the "white Oscar Micheaux", then that just shows you the type of world that has been in existence. I do have to say that I haven't heard of Ed Wood Jr. I will look at his work and see what it is about. If there are stark similarities... then the answer has already been given.
I love what she just said 😊I will love to go heaven without die that's real stuff. She just make my night never Heard a saying like that before love it it just did something to me hear that 😊
They were not only tap dancing, it was mixed in, although, they were not synchronized very well. these are Cotton club girls, they're world renowned. so you don't really have much to say about their dancing. just watch it, enjoy it stop criticizing and disrespecting. this was done almost 100 years ago. be respectful!

I really appreciate what you doing.
The legendary Oscar Micheaux!
Was he "the Black Ed Wood"? This is just plain bizarre, a talkie with title cards and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
@@kenlieck7756 He wasn't the "black" anything, he was Oscar Micheaux.
