Just beat this game recently and had a great time with it! I understand people dislike it cuz it doesn't play like the ps2 games, but it was made specifically for the psp and I feel like it played very well for the console it was made for. The core Jak gameplay is still there, even though they had to simplify it a bit. The story, while not amazing, was still pretty solid! Here's hoping we get a new Jak game in the future. I love this franchise!
I’ve seen some playthroughs, and while it is a bit different, it doesn’t completely change the core gameplay, and it expands on the plot and gives Keira some much needed character development. Still hard to forgive what she was like in Jak 2. I dunno. Heck, the critics adored it when it came out.
It may not be the best Jak and Daxter game. But its certainly a great game especially for a PSP game. Great variety of gameplay (airships, special abilities, daxter minigames etc). Cutscenes are very well animated for a psp game (daxter is very expressive). Voice acting and music is pretty high stadard aswell....overall ticks all the boxes for me at least for a great game.
they should've finished development on uncharted 2, then work on this game. the studio that made this doesn't have the magic touch that naughty dog has on the games

That’s crazy I never knew Lost Frontier existed til a couple days ago. Just by my examination Jak 2 was definitely the best game. I really wish they could make another Jak 4 n make it like Jak 2 but unfortunately that’s not possible RIP JAK
Well, I can tell you that most of the people who throw shit at this game have not played it for more than 5 minutes, and as for the best Jak for me, it is the first one, I have a great affection for him since the city of JAK 2 for me has aged fatally, it's really uncomfortable to drive around the city with vehicles, it has too many curves, I prefer the map of the first game.
I'd say Jak 2 probably is the best overall, closely followed by Jak 1, but I did have a lot of fun with this one. It does a good job of combining the guns/combat of Jak 2 with eco powers and platforming more reminiscent of Jak 1, to the point where I'd say the on-foot gameplay is some of the best in the series. Any potential Jak 4 should look here for inspiration. The problem with this game is that while the core gameplay is good, there's just too much other stuff getting in the way. The airship combat isn't bad, but it dominates way too much of the game, and Dark Daxter is just completely unnecessary. The story isn't great either. I liked the twist about the dark warrior program, but otherwise it's pretty forgettable.

@@TofuProductionzPSP had no right analog stick and only R and L (not R1, R2, L1 and L2, not to mention no R3 and L3) and those were used for camera movement just like pretty much every single PSP game that allowed camera movement. The D-pad is used for the weapon/Eco menu, that literally leaves us with 4 buttons, X, ∆, [ ] and O. X is for jumping as it is with almost every platformer ever and O and [ ] are used for Jak's signature melee combat moves. So yes, ∆ is used for shooting, there was LITERALLY no other convenient alternative. Given the restrictions of the device, The Lost Frontier's buttons aren't just adequately mapped, they are PERFECTLY mapped. And yes, it does follow up the story decently, the world building especially is amazing, Lost Frontier adds tons to the world of J&D both in lore and visual variety. The Far Deep is deada$$ my favorite location in the franchise.

(He's one of my childhood friend i like this guy a lot plus he's one of my favorite videogame characters back i was young. If his english voice Phil LaMarr is still alive i totally love his french voice Pascal Renwick who died back in 2006). His French voice was more relaxing and soothing than scary.

I’ve never played the new ones before Size Matters or even this Lost Frontier, but they were great for me to learn about how cool Clank is as a super spy! Sure thing you can’t get a three-player for FFA if you have to play two like that All 4 One with Dr Nefarious.

Apparently Naughty Dog was too busy with Uncharted 2 at the time and had to let another Studio work on this. Boy does it show!
