I bought my parents 73 road runner in ‘81 and had it for ten years. Paint was peeling and engine wiring kept turning to dust but it was an awesome machine.... 400 with 4 spd pistol grip
In 1973, I bought a new Roadrunner just like the one in the video...Wish I still had it today. After having it for 15 years, my wife totaled it...Not her fault. No injuries. Some 16 year old kid in mom's Bonneville T-boned it running a stop sign.
This was my all time favorite car that I owned. Had a 318/904 satellite swapped to a 360/727 and later on 440/727. 255/60/15 on the back 245/60/15 on the front. It handled like it was on rails. I loved that car. It spent more time sideways than straight. picked it up for 500 bucks because the guy that did the 360 swap apparently couldn't put a timing light on it and see it was way off. the 90's were a great time for picking up old Mopars. we got so many Furys, Imperials, new yorkers, Darts. Nowadays every Mopar owner thinks they have a 20,000 dollar car even though they need 25k worth of restoration.
..you can thank Barrett-Jackson for that🙄...ps, I had a 74 big block road runner ..it had that sunroof option..wish i still had it...back in 1980 when i got it all of the muscle cars that are "way expensive" now were just 10 year old used car that got bad gas mileage..and could be bought cheap.
I grew up in the 1970's and 1980's and I remember the cars that came out of Detroit from Chrysler, General Motors, and Ford, Models include the Fairmont, Mirada and Chevette and Cordoba.
If you're on a highway and Roadrunner goes beep beep... Just step aside or you might end up in a heap! Road Runner Road Runner never bothers anyone, just runnin' down the road is his idea of havin' fun!
1973, the beginning of Detroit"s big three woes and motorists nightmares with the V8' s with the looming oil embargo and long lines at the time. It is also romoured that there was really no oil and gas shortage at all that they just shut off the spiget.
I bought a friend's 73 blue roadrunner , it was a automatic but the car just had 90,000 miles and was never wrecked. I gave 100.00 for it. It just needed plug wires
I saw something odd around 1981, I was in the market for a car and I looked at one that was an E-body, it appeared to be a Cuda but was badged inside and out as a Satellite. It was very minty and appeared to be bone stock. I was never able to find out what the story was on that car. At first, I wasn't going to buy it because the price was more than I intended to spend but the next day I changed my mind, unfortunately, I was too late it sold shortly after I looked at it. I have asked various people who are knowledgable about Mopar but no one has heard of an E-body Satellite. If anyone knows anything about this I would like to hear about it (or theories).
There was NO E Body Satellite, what you probably saw was someone switches decals... I saw plenty of that growing up guys making fake Trans-Ams out of Firebirds and putting Decals of a Roadrunner on Satellites...
@@TheSpritz0 I thought of that but the dash pad had a medallion molded into it that would have been hard to fake, and why bother. A Firebird made to look like a Trans Am is worth more, especially if it is sold fraudulently. Car companies sometimes make "concept cars", and I have wondered if it might have been one of those.
@@alfredmorency8296 Possibly, but I am a Mopar guy being so since I bought my Dodge Mirada in 1983 and there is just no reference for an E-Body Satellite, and BOTH models (Cuda and Satellite died in 1974, none made after that) so any migration to another body would hav been market duplication- UNLESS it was made for the MEXICAN market. I have seen K-Cars called VOLARE or DART, LeBarons called MAGNUM, etc...
I always liked the front of the '73-74 Satellite coupe but the back looks like a completely different car. They should've used the same front clip on sedans and wagons.
You park one that close to the ocean and it's going to disintegrate into rust in about 14 minutes. Those early 70's Chrysler products were notorious for rusting out in months, not years.
You kidding me ?? I'll double down on "that's a Chevy" my satellite didn't rust up until 38yrs later ! You must be from the east coast were everything rust even your balls lol
I've owned them all, they all rusted away in the north east states. I hated when they started making cars with plastic body parts, but plastic doesn't rust.
Bought my first 73 RR back in 1975 when I was an 18 year old kid. I've owned three RR/Satty's in my 66 years on this planet. Looking for another one!
They get these cars at Maple Motors in Hendersonville Tennessee every now and then but they go quick

That was one of my most favorite cars I had one and now my brother's got it great car

My dad had a 73 Satellite Sebring Plus with the 318. Was quite the car in the day. Wish I still had it. Sold it not long after he passed.
Love me some Mopar😍
The Satellite wagon looks good to me.

I use to have a Satellite it was blue on blue with a 318 it ran great wish I still had that car
Me too. It was 69. I also wish I still had it.

Have one, light green,dark green int,white top😉
I bought a new 1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. I still have the window sticker, $4236.00!
Which engine?
My Mother’s parents had a 1973 Plymouth Satellite Custom (4 door sedan) the color of it was green with a white roof.
😎

They were no oil shortage! It was all about GRAD
73 Road Runner GTX 440
Never seen one 71ROAD RUNNER GTX.
They did not make one!
Wearing heels with a stickshift....and not depressing the clutch on a panic stop...yup...
Nice cars
I love those hand cranked windows. Power windows and locks wear out after about 80,000 miles these days. And they're hard to fix.
What car does that?
Excellent video quality.

I owned the satelite sebring Sundance with a 318 .
Not necessarily the car, but the promo film has at least one hole in it.

Kinda prefer the '71 but I'm biased since I had a '71 Satellite Sebring. ;)
That loop front bumper was everything!
That red roadrunner I think was a 340 with pistolgrip 4 speed and sunroof rare car
The end of the muscle car era. Roadrunner? Yes, 175 hp. Notice how the four speed was shown, but no burnout, not even on the grass. Very sad, indeed.
I had a 74 Road Runner. Damn nice car, but I hated those ugly rubber bumper guards.
I have one for sale in Idaho 74 Sebring plus
This is a scam. I went to dealer they said they're not selling this anymore. Please flag
Obviously a bait and switch
BRILLIANT 🤣🤣
Roadrunner got you again BEEP BEEP!! WILE E!! brought to you by ACME
Offerup app in my area...one comes up running for $3000 . GONE! before i even hit the bank..😢
Considering the styling of the '68-'72, they dropped the ball on the '73. It looks thrown together.
The only thing I hated about my 73 Road Runner is that you could not roll the back windows down and the two sided knob radio was terrible.
