Villa Park is just iconic. There's bigger and shinier stadiums nowadays but if you ever watched your club in a semi final there you cant help getting all nostalgic. Downside is the pubs around the stadium are either closed or home fans only. Best to drink in central Birmingham and catch the train to Witton. Sutton towncentre is also really good and on the main line to Villa Park. Remember to get off at Witton. Aston station is mostly Villa fans but if you do try it the walk up to the stadium when the Holte End comes into view is pretty awesome.
Villa park for me . As I say to my wife size isn't everything and I'm a bit of a traditionalist bring back the FA cup simi finals on neutral grounds and villa park was the best for that
Villa park is iconic & deserves your 3rd place ,for me it's number 1,but i am a Villa fan. There aren't so many traditional style football grounds nowadays, many clubs have moved into soulless bowls & some grounds have been rebuilt & have lost their charm, but Villa park has kept many old style features & also modernized, but it's class & popular with other clubs fans aswell & holds the record for most FA cup semi finals at 55,love it!.... up the fuck'in Villa!!! 😊
Forest fan…..similarities between Ipswich and Forest grounds….old school and similar capacity….albeit city ground getting upgraded…..Villa Park the best for me closely followed by Anfield……hate the soulless bowls…..Good luck Town!!
St James' Park is my favourite away ground. Favourite London ground is Craven Cottage, partly because of its location. I like Goodison because it has a raw edge to it, especially when the air raid siren goes off. Hopefully that raw atmosphere will make the transition to the new stadium.
THE CITY GROUND I'M A FOREST SUPPORTER BUT I LOVE VILLA PARK ATMOSPHERE SECOND TO NONE HATE THESE FRUIT BOWL MONSTROSITIES WEMBLEY EVEN GOT A HANDLE 😅😅 PORTMAN ROAD AS WELL I GREW UP NEAR IPSWICH AND WENT TO MOST HOME GAMES FROM 78 TO 84 PLUS I WAS A JNR BLUE YES I SUPPORT FOREST ANOTHER STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY ❓⚽🥅🏐
Nice list Ben - I agree with most of it. As a Villa fan, Villa park is great in the stands and the stadium is iconic, but fan facilities are poor in the ground generally and there were no away fan pubs around the stadium last year, so 3rd is about right. Newcastle should be higher but I agree with you about the away fan seating. I love the Fulham day out experience. Old Trafford is a dump full of tourists with a leaking roof. I’ve heard Spurs is great but not been myself yet. I believe Bournemouth are planning a new stadium on what is currently their training ground.
Town fan here so obviously Portman Road. Of the 15 in the prem I’ve been to 6 have moved. Of the remainder I’d have to say villa is my favourite. Holt end is very impressive.
Ben, I used to watch you all the time when Villa were down in the depths of the Champ, spot on with your knowledge of the league. Only recently have I been reintroduced to your content, absolutely brilliant stuff. More Prem vids too please! Keep up the great work.
Everton could have been a bit higher. You are wrong about the new stadium being an identikit stadium it is on a par with Spurs, has the steepest closest stands in Europe, is on the riverfront and a stones throw from the City centre so will be number one next year. it also has a street of 4 pubs inside the West stand
Agree with most of this, but would have had Goodison much higher. I’m an Ipswich fan but the atmosphere at Everton is the best I’ve seen as an away fan. 1985 6th round of the Cup was incredible. Also a big shout to Villa Park and city ground. Proper stadiums.
no arguments about Goodison Park's position in the list but the calling the new Everton stadium 'identikit' is a bit off - there isn't another that looks anything like it!
Fulham fan (nobody asked, I know) love villa park and having been to Anfield and Old Trafford I can honestly say I think you have your top 5 right maybe not in that order?
The dell had a crazy atmosphere but I do quite like saint mary's. A few changes to the seating arangements for this coming season as well so perhaps it can move up that list a little!
Forest fan, City Ground is iconic, fabulous location and caters well for away fans but Villa Park takes some beating ……we need traditional away ends brought back 🙏.
Yep Villa Park, for mwe a full Holte end and the noise it generatres sends a shiver down your spine and Arhibald Leitches beautiful iconic architecture Hope they get the North satnd redeveloped and the capcity back up above 50,000,
Spurs ground is simply amazing and it won’t be easy for another Club to get near to it really - simply because Spurs were able to do what they have done by buying some of the surrounding property which is why the pitch isn’t on exactly the same sight - they paid way over and above the money it would cost to re-build a new ground usually because they secured a lot of the money via long term loans set at very low interest rates - it’s going to be a difficult act to follow - if you haven’t been there then make the effort because it is an almost unique experience - now all they need is a better team to play there but looking at the progression they made last year in terms of totally re-building a side - they are also ahead of plan there too - the quality in depth of the PL just gets better and better every year - few easy games nowadays for anyone
Taking Fulham out of the equation, my top 5 of those I have visited are Anfield, Old Trafford, Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Molineux. Really want to add Spurs, Ipswich and Villa
Definitely try and get back to the Emirates this season if you can. It's a completely different vibe now. A much better day out for a neutral (if you can get your hands on tickets!)
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is by far the best in the premier league. Now all we need is a team worthy of it. Yes I am bias but come on, it’s so obviously the best stadium. In terms of atmosphere it’s unbelievable, I thought white Hart Lane’s atmosphere was amazing but this trumps it. They might not be premier league, but I always loved a Monday night game at Carrow Road Norwich.
I strongly disagree about your criticism of the Ethiad. When I went there it was absolutely brilliant….but then again,it was the Foo Fighters and not City ha ha.
Old Trafford 2nd is a joke. If you had to choose a stadium for atmosphere, location, size and history then it has to be St James Park… If you ask every away fan this is up there with the best away day….
Old Trafford is one of the worst in the country as proved by the roof leaking like a swimming pool It’s horrible to get too and out of aswell as an away fan
The Southampton and Leicester stadiums are awful, couldn't the architects have used some imagination. Bournemouth could do with a bigger stadium, maybe a 20k, any plans for that? Other than that, kind of agree with the ranking there.
For an away fan wolves is shite as is Newcastle … really difficult to create an atmosphere when spread across length / high up in the ground .. put us in a corner and atmosphere will be ratcheted up with already noisy home fans
SJP number one by far, how can you rate Villa Park so high, it's a very poor stadium looks like 4 separate stands. Spurs is nowhere near as good as Atlanta stadium, it's a corporate commercial stadium with no soul. You talk about character but rank Spurs as number one soulless
I absolutely love Villa Park, a unique fusion of the traditional & modern.
Everton’s new stadium is anything but an “identikit” stadium!
correct
I thought that too...
Forest!
Villa park for me . As I say to my wife size isn't everything and I'm a bit of a traditionalist bring back the FA cup simi finals on neutral grounds and villa park was the best for that
Portman Road is the best because it's the most convenient for visiting my Mum in Norfolk. Tottenham will never say that. 😉 Great stuff, cheers!
Some football grounds were absolute dumps and needed modernising/rebuilding. Stamford Bridge is one example. Villa Park is certainly impressive.
Villa Park by a wide margin, so glad they are not moving but improving on it further.
It’s up there but no wide margins 😅
Forest fan…..similarities between Ipswich and Forest grounds….old school and similar capacity….albeit city ground getting upgraded…..Villa Park the best for me closely followed by Anfield……hate the soulless bowls…..Good luck Town!!

I'd of put West Ham at 20, it's so sterile. Upton Park was a great atmosphere!
Agree Upton park Ipswich fan
Town fan here so obviously Portman Road. Of the 15 in the prem I’ve been to 6 have moved. Of the remainder I’d have to say villa is my favourite. Holt end is very impressive.
Evertons new stadium is far from identikit. Have you seen it ?
Ben, I used to watch you all the time when Villa were down in the depths of the Champ, spot on with your knowledge of the league. Only recently have I been reintroduced to your content, absolutely brilliant stuff. More Prem vids too please! Keep up the great work.
Spurs' ground - for me - is an events venue, not a football ground. Villa Park would be top for me.
On par with spurs, I don’t think so. Great stadium it will be but not on par with spurs.
Man Utd at 2nd when it's roof is less stable than my house 🤣
Man Utd at 2 cracked me up it's an absolute dump 😂
Top list Benji. Portman road has been the Theatre of Dreams the last two seasons for me..
Agree with most of this, but would have had Goodison much higher. I’m an Ipswich fan but the atmosphere at Everton is the best I’ve seen as an away fan. 1985 6th round of the Cup was incredible. Also a big shout to Villa Park and city ground. Proper stadiums.
I agree with most of these. I’d have my team (Forest) a bit higher but totally agree on spurs being the best stadium
City Ground, Nottingham ❤️🤍
Happy to be 20th. Feels very quaint community home town type of place. Can understand why other teams hate it though, (not that that bothers me)
The Dell was a stadium the bigger clubs feared to go, st Mary's is @ least twice the size & very clear and modern thank you
Forest and Villa.
no arguments about Goodison Park's position in the list but the calling the new Everton stadium 'identikit' is a bit off - there isn't another that looks anything like it!

Leicesters is a identikit stadium evertons new one is nothing like one
good vid. 14th for king power is being kind imo
The world famous City Ground COYR great video 🎉
Top 3 I’ve visited in last 3 seasons… not done all grounds btw. Best Forest, then arsenal then villa…. Worst by far palace
Forest fan, City Ground is iconic, fabulous location and caters well for away fans but Villa Park takes some beating ……we need traditional away ends brought back 🙏.
Yep Villa Park, for mwe a full Holte end and the noise it generatres sends a shiver down your spine and Arhibald Leitches beautiful iconic architecture

Fair video but 1 point, Everton's new stadium is no way identikit.
Portman Road ❤
Worst I have seen is Westham by far
Definitely try and get back to the Emirates this season if you can. It's a completely different vibe now. A much better day out for a neutral (if you can get your hands on tickets!)
Forest would of gone second, old Trafford is a shed now
Great review. I think White Hart Lane would rank as a top NFL stadium as well.
St Mary's was opened before the King Power Just saying
Portman Road has changed very little in the fifty years I’ve been going
Apart from about 20 years ago when they built two new stands...
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is by far the best in the premier league. Now all we need is a team worthy of it. Yes I am bias but come on, it’s so obviously the best stadium. Would but Bournemouth well in front of West Ham. Vitality has great atmosphere. WH is dreadful in all aspects.
West Ham is worst by a country mile
I strongly disagree about your criticism of the Ethiad. When I went there it was absolutely brilliant….but then again,it was the Foo Fighters and not City ha ha.
Palace and west ham in bottom 3 🙏🏻
Bournemouth Chairman plans to build a new stadium by the end of the decade where the current training ground is.
There is nothing identikit about Bramley Moore
You need a more up to date photo of Anfield now the Anfield Rd end has been expanded.
Craven Cottage should be top three - I mean how many clubs have preserved their iconic buildings like Fulham has with the cottage?
There is a difference between football grounds and stadiums. I'm sure most West Ham fans prefer the former.
Old Trafford 2nd is a joke. If you had to choose a stadium for atmosphere, location, size and history then it has to be St James Park… If you ask every away fan this is up there with the best away day….
Leeds fan here, I like Arsenal's stadium.
Villa Park.
Old Trafford is one of the worst in the country as proved by the roof leaking like a swimming pool
It’s horrible to get too and out of aswell as an away fan
If they want to keep the spurs feel in the stadium, they might as well shape it as a bottle 😂😂
The Southampton and Leicester stadiums are awful, couldn't the architects have used some imagination. Bournemouth could do with a bigger stadium, maybe a 20k, any plans for that? Other than that, kind of agree with the ranking there.

Wolves
Why does the Brian Clough stand need work?
Think he got it confused with the Main Stand (Peter Taylor stand).
He definitely meant the Peter Taylor stand
VILLA VILLA PARK
Ipswich Town Portman Road blue army 💙 Nottingham forest old grounds similar fans loyal from are European nights under great management 💙 👍
Spurs is the best by a country mile. Villa Park also strong
London ⬇️ Stadium
Crystal Palace should be top 10, fans always singing
tottenham hotspur stadium simply the best coys
SJP number one by far, how can you rate Villa Park so high, it's a very poor stadium looks like 4 separate stands.

@@BVking509 Villa Park is an historic stadium.
@@chrishunt112 Yes it's historic, it's old, dilapidated, ugly, In the middle of a Muslim enclave, falling down. It's badly designed and stinks of piss
As an ITFC fan I still find it difficult to accept that we’re in these ‘Premier League Pod’s’ - absolutely fantastic! 🏟️🤩
