Question: Will the Cromwell tank and all of its upgrades ever become a light tank? Because all cruiser tanks before it, such as the crusader and A13, are classified in game as light tanks. Cruiser tanks were often used in reconnaissance missions, just like all light tanks. Why are they still medium tanks, if they are so fast and were used as light tanks all the time in real life?
Tank classes of different countries' doctrines are far from identical and so WT has to pick the class they best fit into. For example, Panther was never designated by WW2 Germans as medium tank, it was as heavy as IS-2, so all Allies considered it a Heavy Tank and if you'd go by its design requirements, you'd call it a Tank Destroyer.

However, the fact that the cromwell has 64mm of straight armor is undeniable, and that amount of armor is pretty average for 3.3-3.7. But, in terms of effective armor, its way lower than everything else. And then there are the descendents, such as the Avenger, Comet, and Charioteer, have way less armor compared to everything else. Even Oxy said that the Charioteer is essentially a light tank, but without the light tank abilities. So even if the Cromwells do not get scouting, at least the Comet and Charioteer probably should due to their near non existent armor and high speed.

Its simple, Thats because in general you Earn more RP in both RB and SB than in AB , It depends a lot on the battle and the circumstances but as a general rule you can think it like this, Every destroyed enemy in RB and SB equals around 2 AB destroyed enemies, Keep in mind its very relative as not all players tend to have an average performance on diffent modes. It also depends on the vehicle RP multiplaiers. So my point being, Actions that will give you around 4,000RP in arcade will probably give around 8,000RP in both RB and SB. This is a RAW calculation and there's lots of things to take into consideration do NOT consider this to be ALL cases but yea, Long answer shortened: RB & SB Have the potential to earn much more RP Overall which is NOT ALWAYS the case as some players might make more by solely playing more faster AB matches in the same time. Conclusion: Depends highly on the player and its performance, Its not a punishment its a balance feature. If RB and SB would give the same amount of crew points it would be very easy to rack em up in no time. And please dont give me that "ArCaDeeeEE BatLleESs ItZ EaSieeeR" bollocks its not ,Its different As i gets "Easier" in ways it gets harder on others.
@@moxxibiturbo it definitely is a punishment to sim and RB players... the nations where i started in warthunder playing arcade all have much higher crews in both air and ground crew skills than the nations which i have basically solely played RB and Sim in. These comparisons are at top tier (where arguably these crew skill differences matter the most) and the later of which on average are not even half the level of my later focused nations. Gaijin just continues to make the grind longer and less enjoyable tbh.
Besides TurboDrinker's points, each sucessive mode makes more crew skill types irrelevant. Once you're out of AB, you don't need crew visions, driving via manual transmission removes the needed for the driver skill of gear changing, etc.
Looks like I got something right Bruce! I always train up targeting skills on my tank crews. I've commonly also trained up range finding. I figured that being able to attack as accurately as possible was the most important thing!

that used to be the case, back in the early days of war thunder it was very realistic, but the problem was that it was TOO realistic.. if you had almost ANY tank and drove full speed to a tree , which you CAN and WILL destroy, it will knock your crew out and you died.... the tree would fall but your tank would be dead... it used to be very sensitive.. nowadays its muted down a lot, you can still injure your crew by momentum, but very slight damage
@@petrkdn8224 In cramped light tanks you can still knock out your crew by hitting an object too hard, and if you’re going fast enough (usually demonstrated in the CDK) you can kill your crew from impact damage in a Maus.

it shows little red arrows on the edge of the screen, but only for new "unseen" tanks, basically tanks not in your field of vision but not completly behind you... your sides basically... also works vertically for planes and helis

they are planning on it, but in a computational way, its an extremely hard mechanic to add if you don't want it to be buggy so please give them some time, they will eventually add them
Gaijin added them temporarily in two events, first in 2018 called "Silent Thunder" and again in 2020 as "The Phantom Menace" it worked pretty well and was fun, but no news since then
@@sharkbait1389 gaijin has always made events to test the efficiency of game mechanics and thus program and improve them. they took their time to add VTOL, and it worked, they went slowly with Volumetric, and it improved the game a lot (there's still a few things to fix in volumetric) they added ground breaking but it took time because they didnt want to be sll buggy and make the players deform water and asphalt like it was dirt. same case, carriers must be tested in events, and we need to give them time so they can do a nice job

The cromwell 1 does not need to be a light tank in game, although i think it did used to be a few years ago before the south african vehicles

By what i have seen it helps you spot helicopters on RB, Since when one spawn and gets high enough a red arrow shows on the side of the screen

only some planes have it, mostly german WW2 planes, modern planes and other nations dont have ammo counters

Just divide the pounds by half and you get a rough estimate of the bombs weight in kg
for conversion… 1kg is equivalent to 2.2lbs

@@thecodeofreality Ahh, always wondered if it was like a crain that the Russians would use to park rights in front of the dock and then put things like shells or large quantities of food on there if it was too heavy for crew to load on or if the water was too shallow.
