Forgetting trumps plans for public servants and planting seeds for a conservative future we are moving to a world where the west is gone. I live in Czech Republic and find it scary that come Jan this year Ukraine will be handed over to Putin. With Kim getting nuclear weapons from Putin now Seoul will be looking at this election with worry. The people of Taiwan similarly. The same Trump who moved the embassy to Jerusalem and implemented a muslim bas is not going to handle the Gaza situation with much tact. We in Canada, UK, NZ and Australia know how to replace leaders: it's done all the time in parliamentary versions of democracy. It is so much more difficult for the Americans: they retained a monarchical element in the Presidency: fixed term, pardon power, not elected at the local constituency level. Creates a tendency for Presidents to feel driven to finish their terms. No parliamentarian would think this way: we think only of winning, losing, what's good for the party. We can rotate back to being a back-bencher. It's just a job.

Rory and Alastair, you are doing a great public service by continuing to recognize this emergency publicly and calling for Biden to step down. This, despite the pressure. The comments from Democratic party leaders have been devastating for me and other life-long Democrats. The idea that we should accept a leader with cognitive issues because he has a good team is offensive to voters. As a lifelong Democrat, I am angry and inclined to vote Green.
