Part three of the Comb Ridge Ruins hiking adventure off Butler Wash Road near Bluff Utah. Cold Spring Cave is a short trail, around two miles round trip and these ruins are magnificent. Many ancient native American artifacts can be found throughout the area like grinding stones where the ancients sharpened tools and ground seeds and corn. Other more mysterious relics scatter the area as well. Petroglyphs and pictographs are also prevalent. Butler wash road is an amazing overland location with plenty of dispersed camping spots and hiking trails all along comb ridge. These ruins date back more than a thousand years so treat the area with respect.

I enjoyed watching this video showing Cold Spring Cave hike. It's so amazing to get a glimpse into how ancient humans lived 1k years ago. I imagine that they were hunters, grew their own produce and survived living in a cave. There must have been some trees and quite a few animals to sustain human life back then. It's quite an interesting area that evokes many questions on why they lived there. Thanks for this interesting video and I look forward to more of your travels.

@@sarahmanning525 that’s very kind, thank you. Yeah, these places just make the imagination go wild about what life back then must have been.

How fascinating it must have been for the folks who lived there to walk up that canyon, find that shelter, and even more so ...to find that life-sustaining seep. I wonder if they were happy, happier than folks today, or what the energy and life was like for them in such a place.

Happiness, that’s a good question. Like, I wonder if that was a concept that even occurred to them?🤔 I always figured they were so busy just trying to stay alive that there wasn’t time for stuff like that. Interesting.
