Yes it was. where are they now? Well , the First 900 Ninja was not a success, causing the detuning of the GPZ750E1 TURBO ALLOWING THE BIGGER SLOWER LESS STABLLE water buffalo to claim fame.
Since last night I am keep watching your channel, I feel like m still in college watching all beautiful motorcycle and living with them. It's👍 for channel and 👍👍👍 for Ken.
Thanks for that! I owned that bike, the silver version back in Enfield, CT. Less the Kerker exhaust. Lots of folks had that exhaust back in the day. What a great bike, sold it. :(
It reminds me of my 91 Katana 750 with V&H pipes...that thing was a rocket ship! We live N of Detroit & the 4th of July fireworks on the Detroit River are some of the best in the Country. A group of us rode down on our bikes 1 yr...on the way home we were so jacked up from the show, we made what should've been a 30 minute ride home in 15 minutes up I-75, not sure how we didn't get killed.
Had a 1983 GPZ that looked just like that, even put on on a Kerker pipe about 2 months after buying it new. Loved riding the Griffith park canyon and Azusa canyon in Southern California! Made it out to the Rock Store on Mulholland Hwy a few times for lunch!🥰 Made a lot of Good memories with that bike, with many a good looking woman on the back! At 6'2", long rides were not the most fun!😬 Flat out up the 5 fwy to Burbank coming from a party in Newport Beach, tucked down on the tank with only my right hand on the throttle, speedo read 135mph!😁 Oh Yeah, to be 21 and good looking again!😏😁 Mike in San Diego.🌞🎸🚀🖖
This bike sounds absolutely fantastic ! And that '80s look is kinda growing on me. :D I've been really enjoying watching all the new content you've been uploading lately !
Love it. Back to the idea of if you raffle off a bike. I think a Honda trail 70 or 90 would be perfect. Full grown man or kid could ride it and have a good time.
Top gun came out in 1986. Maverick rode the gpz 900. Does any one know what year the bike was? 85? Looks very similar . i think Tommy cruises bike had a lower ferring too. Love you senior. It's 4 am and im geeking out on this bike. Beautiful 👍
The actual Top Gun bikes in the movie were 1984 GPz 900's, painted to look similar but not exactly like the 85's. 2 bikes were sold to Paramount Studios by the dealership in california. They were then repainted and stickered up like what you saw in the movie.
Better than my nearly new Kawa.750 turbo, 84, got a planted 161mph, thought it was in top gun, turns out that was a GPZ900R. You're GPZ sounds So good, nearly as good as my late beloved 05 GSF 650i.Bandit, one very careful, cautious owner, who basically ran it in for 15,000 miles, throttle response, Acceleration, was immediate, quicker than an Arcade game, 58, 59 times more biking joy, than my nearly new KAWASAKI 750turbo. 19 months Blessed biking joy, called Bandit Time. At least I got a PhD Masters Degree, in Bandit Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical, Sadly now a HOPEFULLY only, semi retired Banditateer FEKKIN Banditaholic, ruined for any other bike. AND I'm not even lying.
I'm still kicking myself for selling mine....but I figured my luck was running out....alot of guys crashing back then..... probably still r....yaa I'm 57 still running full throttle
Forgot what got my attention, Uni track GPZ 84 ??, turbo was uni track. 85 Got an ex demonstrator GPZ550,. uni track, fuel inj. Imagine how Special the GPZ 750,nice 4 into1, FUEL INJ. WOW, probably nearly as good as, my late beloved 05 650i Bandit. GT750 shaft drive, was my favourite Kawa. Planted 140 mph. All day long. But Sod that, top end stuff, all about the Acceleration.GT 750, FAST AS EVER NEEDED,unless a proper race.
Maybe its just me but those old bikes sounded so much better with a free flowing pipe, than the new stuff with a free flowing pipe
Love the gpz lines.
Those 4-cyl Kawasaki’s from the 80’s always sounded sweet ! Classic bikes. Thank you.
One of the best sounding bikes I have ever heard.
Those bikes were fast and comfortable I don't care how old they are and super reliable
You get the SICKEST bikes Ken! Such an amazing channel (and museum)! Bless your soul for documenting, preserving (and selling) these timeless pieces!
The "top gun" bike was the gpz900r
Yes it was. where are they now? Well , the First 900 Ninja was not a success, causing the detuning of the GPZ750E1 TURBO ALLOWING THE BIGGER SLOWER LESS STABLLE water buffalo to claim fame.
Nope. It was actually a GPZ750r! The water cooled 750 version of the 900.
The GPz900r was the Top Gun and was water cooled. The engine on this 750cc bike is air cooled!
I loved mine 815 big bore kit yosh stage 3 cams 36 mm flat slide carbs hindle exhaust ...... what a bike
"I could listen to this thing all day long" - I might put the video on loop and do that...
Top gun was the Gpz900r
That is awesome!!!!! I love the bikes from my high school years. Fast, sporty, but not too much plastic.....kind of like the naked bikes now. 🙂👍
nice bike, the bike from Top Gun was a GPZ 900?
Yes it was.
I had that exact same bike! Freaking rocket ship! A friend of mine had a GPZ Turbo! Double freaking rocket ship!
Since last night I am keep watching your channel, I feel like m still in college watching all beautiful motorcycle and living with them. It's👍 for channel and 👍👍👍 for Ken.
Kerker rules, crisp sound says it best.life has just begun for this maverick.
Thanks for that! I owned that bike, the silver version back in Enfield, CT. Less the Kerker exhaust. Lots of folks had that exhaust back in the day. What a great bike, sold it. :(

It's a mint GPz750, but top gun had an 85 ZX900R Ninja :)
Had a 1983 GPZ that looked just like that, even put on on a Kerker pipe about 2 months after buying it new.
Loved riding the Griffith park canyon and Azusa canyon in Southern California!

GPZ900R Ninja is the Bike from Top Gun …. Gruß kawalotzi
I rode one of those for a couple years while my gsxr 1100 was wounded. I found some 750 gpz turbo wheels they are red and put them on it. Nice
Sheet!!!, My nearly new '84 Kawasaki 750 turbo, no 4 -1 exhaust, which sounds GLORIOUS,
Love the GeePee's. I owned 2 of this model, the A1 and an A3. I was so brassed off when I had to sell them.
Nothing sounds like a Kirker! Badass
Kerker exhaust sound Mint! Timeless styling.
still love the way the old bikes sound
That firecracker 🧨 red pops! Nice. 🏁👍
This bike sounds absolutely fantastic ! And that '80s look is kinda growing on me. :D I've been really enjoying watching all the new content you've been uploading lately !

I wanna say top gun was an 85 ninja 900A
Had an 1983 GPZ 750 in 1986, had 1,200 miles on it and paid $1,500 from Ralph LeGendre in Meriden
What are my favorite motorcycles I had to 550 GPS in high School
Looks like my old bike, it was mint, with same kerker. Sold it to a guy from East Haven in 1996
That's my kind of bike. Absolutely beautiful!!!
sounds better than my 2017 zx 10 RR
so many were ridden into the ground good to see one still alive wow
Love it. Back to the idea of if you raffle off a bike. I think a Honda trail 70 or 90 would be perfect. Full grown man or kid could ride it and have a good time.
Excellent idea
Killer! I had exact bike in silver. Beat the hell out of it and never had a problem with it.
Not Top Gun as not GPZ900R. Had the GPZ1100 and that was a blast to ride in straight lines.
Cool bike, you know what would be a cool bike to get is an older maico atk 700 smoker
I had a 1983 GPz 550 jetted with a 4 into 1 Kerker and man that bike was fast
That was the bike to have still is
Nice bike. Timeless looks really.

Bikes in those days had an individual look and character
I’ve got a 600 ninja same year!
Someone in my neighborhood was selling one of these for just under 2gs and I wish I had a garage. Damn.
Forgot what got my attention, Uni track GPZ 84 ??, turbo was uni track. 85 Got an ex demonstrator GPZ550,. uni track, fuel inj. Imagine how Special the GPZ 750,nice 4 into1, FUEL INJ. Cool Bike, my cousin had one. Top Gun was 1986 though... :)
It was a joy to ride but it had some issues with the tail mounted computer.

Can I buy this bike from you? I had the same bike, in the 80’s.
If you're looking for a bike that you always wanted, buy one serviced and ready for Kaplan's cycles.
