The Merryweather setup can be addressed with the sub's guided missile system. Just sit down, fire one off and guide it right to the Merryweather building roof where the helicopter is waiting for you and blow it up. Then do it again. Most I've ever had to repeat is 3 times.
Another option is after you blow up the helicopter, finish the other prep items (except the approach vehicle), then when you select the weapon prep 9/10 times you will get an office building.
About #7: Avoiding the Merryweather HQ setup mission. There's a better and faster way to avoid it than changing lobbies. If you get the Merryweather HQ setup mission, you can go to your Kosatka's missile station and just launch a missile towards Merryweather HQ and blow up the helicopter as it sits on top of the building at the docks. This will immediately fail the mission. Then you can just go back over to the Heist table and launch that weapons mission again until you get the CEO office one. Even with the missile station cool down timer, you can just still keep blowing up the Merryweather HQ helicopter over and over again if you keep getting that mission since there are 2 missile stations on your Kosatka.
In saying this if you dont have the guided missiles active, you can park the sub right next to the merryweather depot and just use a missile or even the sparrow to blow up the heli. Super easy
That is not all the bolt cutter locations... Each item (bolt cutters, grappling hook, guard clothing) have 16 spawn locations and will always spawn at 4 of those locations. *note, you can and will still alert the guards in disguise, you have a timer, a few seconds, that you can pass through their vision before they alert. But it does make you impervious to cameras, which makes killing the power pointless.
Watching you run around Cayo Perico has stopped me from freezing up in the set up / heist. I've learnt to trust myself, especially with the guard vision cone. I do it the exact same way every time (Longfin / main dock arrival / airstrip loot / drainage tunnel / motorbike and swim), but it's made going to both warehouses on the airstrip a lot more comfortable if I don't get the right combination in the main one. I also keep messing up the motorbike jump behind the guard tower in the setup, but I don't panic and get spotted. Thank you for this and all the other helpful hints you've given in your videos. The nightclub hint about getting in the lift to change escorting a VIP home to throwing out a drunk has saved me a huge amount of time when I'm nipping in to pick up my money and boost the popularity.
@JimShadyUK , bro if you go wid velum approach (instead of longfin) land directly on the airstrip , loot in the hanger, get a boat behind the airstrip go to drainage tunnel, get your primary, and swim, dats elite also everytime i go solo, wid out killing any guard in the compound. its on record in videos every time i go solo very easy and quick.

However, because I've been grinding for a while and have other businesses (and doing Cayo Perico), the money came back pretty fast - so even if I never drove it again, I wouldn't hate myself for wasting money. I have room to play around, so maybe it's time to try some other approaches. I'll let you know how I get on - and thank you for the tip!
Something I don't see anyone point out is the fact that secondary loot is worth more or less depending on your main target. Based off my testing, If your target is the pink diamond a pile of coke will be worth about 220k, but if your target is the tequila, a pile of coke is worth about 270k. Making it more crucial to get good secondary loot when you have the tequila.
If I ever hear Pavel say "Detecting multiple Leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever you are doing is worth it?" I'll turn back to the island and meet the guards :-)
I've heard that voiceline by pavel 2 times. wish i knew bout this sooner. I think i caught a glimpse of it tho. it was at the point i jumped off my longfin to go through the drainage tunnel

The chopper always goes to one of three places, you can fly ahead of them and wipe out everyone before they get there to make it quicker

It makes the guards less accurate and also they shoot at you less because they'll be sickly and holding their stomachs. Pretty sure it also reduces their health. I don't think it changes anything regarding stealth.
For the Merryweather HQ setup mission, you can spawn your kosatka close to the helicopter location. if you get that mission, just launch the missile from your sub and destroy the helicopter. It will save you time and usually after destroying halicopers two times, you'll get your weapons from skyscrapers.
Having the guided missiles is the best way to skip the Merryweather missions. I usually park my kosatka at Elysian island and use the missiles to blow up the helicopter on top of the Hanger. By far the fastest method to skip these missions and a great investment imo.
The fact that the island has heavy slip N fall barriers around the shores is aggravating. Some spots you would have no issue getting over, but the game will just activate a trigger that just makes your character slip and fall
I'm level 250 and done hundreds of cayo perico heist and never knew about the poison! Also spin the wheel idea is to use the satchel charge over any stealthy entrance routes. Will make it that more challenging, maybe even more fun??? I know it would be entertaining for the viewers.
For the Bolt Cutters, Guard Clothes and Grappling Hook there are four each item spawn on the Island that you can find during the Scope Out. You can check the locations that you find on the Heist Finale screen. During the Heist Finale, if walk close enough to any of them it will appear on your map. For the guard clothes, everyone can change their clothes at the same spot.

I've done it this exact way around when it 1st came out and for some reason 1 guard was on the map close the horse track and I couldn't enter the avenger until I flew back and got him then fly back again, I'm only adding this as a heads up that it could happen to anyone, I just stay away from that set up.
I personally love to poison the guards because it makes it a hell of a lot easier for me if things get heavy. I’ve also memorized every single location of where the disguises spawn, I honestly don’t remember how many in all but the Max you can get is four on your recon run also there’s five locations where the guard truck spawns but the compound one is the worst by far.

If you got the sub buy the sparrow make sure its got the guided rockets,spawn kasatka west side of airport if you get merry hq just fly over (30 seconds away( blow up heli go back restart😂 much quicker

bro six times getting same merryweather prep, why not complete in a first time only, save time for the session changes and trying the attempt b2b for getting a different location, if i get one i just do dat , or sometimes i blew dat chopper and it gave me different location
I have never really done the Cayo Perico heist, but intend on getting started soon; having bought the Kosatka & sparrow for my characters for all 3 of my accounts. It seems very intimidating- which is part of why I've never tackled it.
Personally I think that it is the easiest heist to do especially solo. Have one of your friends help you to learn how to do it. It's just a matter of finding a good route and learning which guards to whack and witch ones to avoid. Many videos on it
You can shoot the helicopter with your submarine guided missile on the merry weather set up mission (so you dont have to change lobbies). I used to skip it but after skipping it 6 times in a row I might as well just do it 😂
I bought the Kosatka guided missiles exclusively for shooting the helicopter from the Merryweather setup. I don't know if it's faster but it's damn satisfying
Avoid Merryweather by blowing up the chopper with guided missile. You don't have to change lobby's or move or any of that.just go back n forth till you get downtown.
I actually like the Merryweather HQ mission. You can quickly tell which one of the three locations the Heli is heading to. So as soon as you trigger the Heli to take off I simply start heading directly north and after a short while I check the map to see where they are heading. I then fly to the location and land just far enough away so as not to be detected by the guards on the ground. Then I get my sniper rifle and head shot all the guards before the Merryweather Heli arrives. Then I wait for it to land and use my heavy sniper rifle, which has explosive rounds to hit destroy the heli without them shooting back. Then just go to the Avenger, get the weapons, jump out and parachute back down to where my helicopter is and away I go. With the skyscraper ones I like to use the flare gun and listen to the sweet music of the guards burning to death 😁
@Pits Taste Good You can actually go into the office without being detected by half the guards. - Before walking through the door, shoot it open and take out the guard by the desk, then the one on the right side. - Walk through the door and shoot the door open on the left side and shoot the guard there - Walk in, shoot the next door and shoot the guard next to the computer - Hug the left side as much as you can and no one will notice you

I dont know if u know this or not,but the easy way to handle Merriweather, is fast travel to last spot on the list. Then use guided missiles to take down the chopper.u then will fail.repeat till u get an office bldg.easy ad 1,2,3.

I’ve had 0 spawns for disguise. Kinda sucks. It’s okay tho… I come in on the boat… take as much coke and cash as I can and then get the primary and then I dip… stealth is the go to way to play the mission
I did the cayo perico 3 times since Ï bought kosatka yesterday I picked up the combat shotgun but not the golden gun are there anymore special weapons?
alternative to starting a new session, if you have bought the guided missile launchers for your sub you can use those and blow up the helicopter, it will fail the setup and you ca retry for the penris building. I have used this method of reset on 17 different heists and on average i use 5 missiles.
a quick tip for the merrywheather mission. this mission chance varies on the distance of the docks. if you are closer to the docks, the merry wheather prep will be almost guaranteed. if you are farther, you have lesser chance to get it
Dat spelling of Poison tho. The powder just makes the enemy shoot less accurately. If you have the missiles on your sub, you can use that to destroy the merryweather heli to fail the mission, then start it again to try for the better mission.
I do a stray where I first scale out the airport for poor , then go to the communications tower. After I check the cctv footage, I just jump off the tower to my death. And I just get instantly teleported to the place
There is a simpler way to do the Merryweather chopper mission is to go to locations. There are about 4 locations where it can be 1 near the airstrip on sandy shores, top of the lake on sandy shores, and finally, one near the oceans where the train crashed in the Dax mission (forgot what it called)
Hi first time commenting but i found a map for treasure on cayo perico island. you can search for treasure 1 per real day and it s 30,000 dollars and on the map you can see the lockness monster
with the merryweather weapon source mission if you fast travel the kosatka to elysian island location then the game will always give office set up cus it deems merryweather too close so therefore too easy. idk but its worked for me last 10 cayo pericos
I just did cayo earlier, after i got the primary target i got up using the elevator but one of the guards cone of vision filled the entire minimap, my stealth has been ruined.
7:03 my method is to park the kosatka within torpedo lock in range and start the setup mission, if i happen to get Merryweather i either sit down and fire a few torpedoes that are locked in to the helicopter, which due to me being so close to it that it takes off and helps the torpedoes to hit more accurately, or i run to my sparrow and unload all my missiles , and go back into my sub within 30 or so seconds , i find it takes less time then going to a different lobby.
11:01 wait thats rare? i feel like ive gotten that voice prompt at least 12 out of the 20 times i've done the heist, I will definitely be looking out for this now
There's quite a bit of dialogue to unlock while scoping the island by taking pictures of different Easter eggs.....I also stole a jet on the aircraft carrier during the heist and obviously the ait defenses shred me to pieces...oh maybe the treasure chests ? Anyway cool video !!

yep it’s a huge change because if you get the pink diamonds your secondary loot doesn’t matter as much

When you start a new lobby to avoid the merrywether mission don't forget to set ur spawn location to kosatka to speed things up

i think the poisoning is not actually changing their routes but instead making them have less health
Their aim gets worse and they set the alarm later
Ya but the problem with going ahead of them is that the valkyrie has that explosive cannon and can obliterate you in seconds

You can also use a metal detector to dig up treasure on the island during your surveillance mission.

Bolt cutters allow you to silently cut the chains, so it doesn't alert nearby guards.

You can shoot the helicopter with your submarine guided missile on the merry weather set up mission (so you dont have to change lobbies). I used to skip it but after skipping it 6 times in a row I might as well just do it 😂
I bought the Kosatka guided missiles exclusively for shooting the helicopter from the Merryweather setup. I don't know if it's faster but it's damn satisfying
Avoid Merryweather by blowing up the chopper with guided missile. You don't have to change lobby's or move or any of that.just go back n forth till you get downtown.
I actually like the Merryweather HQ mission. You can quickly tell which one of the three locations the Heli is heading to. So as soon as you trigger the Heli to take off I simply start heading directly north and after a short while I check the map to see where they are heading. I then fly to the location and land just far enough away so as not to be detected by the guards on the ground. Then I get my sniper rifle and head shot all the guards before the Merryweather Heli arrives. Then I wait for it to land and use my heavy sniper rifle, which has explosive rounds to hit destroy the heli without them shooting back. Then just go to the Avenger, get the weapons, jump out and parachute back down to where my helicopter is and away I go.
With the skyscraper ones I like to use the flare gun and listen to the sweet music of the guards burning to death 😁
Me walk into office and mini gun go boom. Done in less than two minutes.
@Pits Taste Good You can actually go into the office without being detected by half the guards.
- Before walking through the door, shoot it open and take out the guard by the desk, then the one on the right side.
- Walk through the door and shoot the door open on the left side and shoot the guard there
- Walk in, shoot the next door and shoot the guard next to the computer
- Hug the left side as much as you can and no one will notice you

if you would do cayo as a duo could one dive stright down and disabel the air defenses and then you could just fly in the compound
Disabling air defenses only disables them on airstrip, does not affect compound.

Considering all the money that Rockstar/Rocksteady has made from this game they should bump the take to 3M or if not than you would only need to set up once for good and be able to run the heist every 30 minutes 🤷♂️
I ALWAYS use the cutting powder, it makes doing the heist SO MUCH easier.
I dont know if u know this or not,but the easy way to handle Merriweather, is fast travel to last spot on the list. Then use guided missiles to take down the chopper.u then will fail.repeat till u get an office bldg.easy ad 1,2,3.

I’ve had 0 spawns for disguise. Kinda sucks. It’s okay tho… I come in on the boat… take as much coke and cash as I can and then get the primary and then I dip… stealth is the go to way to play the mission
I did the cayo perico 3 times since Ï bought kosatka yesterday I picked up the combat shotgun but not the golden gun are there anymore special weapons?
alternative to starting a new session, if you have bought the guided missile launchers for your sub you can use those and blow up the helicopter, it will fail the setup and you ca retry for the penris building. I have used this method of reset on 17 different heists and on average i use 5 missiles.
Move your sub near to merryweather building and then use your missiles to take out the helicopter. simples. :)
a quick tip for the merrywheather mission. this mission chance varies on the distance of the docks. if you are closer to the docks, the merry wheather prep will be almost guaranteed. if you are farther, you have lesser chance to get it

The powder just makes the enemy shoot less accurately.
If you have the missiles on your sub, you can use that to destroy the merryweather heli to fail the mission, then start it again to try for the better mission.
I do a stray where I first scale out the airport for poor , then go to the communications tower. After I check the cctv footage, I just jump off the tower to my death. And I just get instantly teleported to the place
I got the lochnes dialougue like 10 times but i saw the lochnes itself only once. I did cayo 134 times

it's faster to destroy it and come back to sub unless you have god like internet
for weapon mission I jus quit the session and I change the category pf weapon work all time I do .
There is a simpler way to do the Merryweather chopper mission is to go to locations. There are about 4 locations where it can be 1 near the airstrip on sandy shores, top of the lake on sandy shores, and finally, one near the oceans where the train crashed in the Dax mission (forgot what it called)

Hi first time commenting but i found a map for treasure on cayo perico island. you can search for treasure 1 per real day and it s 30,000 dollars and on the map you can see the lockness monster
can't you just pull your parachute at the very last moment?(The can you skydive in to the compound one)
For guns I move my sub to the top/mid left side of the map, then I start weapons prep, I usually get the towers. I hate Merryweather setup also

Nessie isn't that rare if the voice promp is the key ... I get that every Cayo run as I swim from compound to airstrip after looting main target

with the merryweather weapon source mission if you fast travel the kosatka to elysian island location then the game will always give office set up cus it deems merryweather too close so therefore too easy. idk but its worked for me last 10 cayo pericos

I just did cayo earlier, after i got the primary target i got up using the elevator but one of the guards cone of vision filled the entire minimap, my stealth has been ruined.
7:03 my method is to park the kosatka within torpedo lock in range and start the setup mission, if i happen to get Merryweather i either sit down and fire a few torpedoes that are locked in to the helicopter, which due to me being so close to it that it takes off and helps the torpedoes to hit more accurately, or i run to my sparrow and unload all my missiles , and go back into my sub within 30 or so seconds , i find it takes less time then going to a different lobby.

Optionally i preffer using the sub to fast travel near merryweather hq and use the manual guidance missile to blow their shit up out of pure spite

There's quite a bit of dialogue to unlock while scoping the island by taking pictures of different Easter eggs.....I also stole a jet on the aircraft carrier during the heist and obviously the ait defenses shred me to pieces...oh maybe the treasure chests ? Anyway cool video !!
