As an Aggie, I can assure you we like traditions. The 12th man, the war hymnal, midnight yell, overpaying coaches with 1 good year from the former coaches recruits, going 8-4 (usually). Why would we want to break traditions? Speaking of, we finally get the second best team in the second worse conference again. I'd lose to UGA every year as long as we beat that team from Austin.

I know. I'm not sure how I feel about this. There's a reason conferences went to the division format. I'm hoping they revisit this idea in the near future. There's no reason you couldn't have 4 divisions with another tier of playoffs for the conference title.

I discovered SEC shorts last year, since then, I've devoured as many of them as possible. Now, for the first time, I get to watch them as they come out, and I couldn't be more excited! 2023 is off to a great start.
Sometimes they add things to the CC, so Ill watch them twice - once without CC turned on, once with it turned on. Brilliant way to increase view count!
Yeah, but I foresee problems with staying at 8 conference games. I predict some goofy issue, like for who is the #2 team, such as the next two teams have the same w-l, but each lost to a conference opponent that the other beat. And the w-l records (conference and total) of those other teams are the same. Problem. Now the same can happen with a 9 game schedule, but there is one more game to make it less likely.
@@ownpetard8379 Basketball doesn't have divisions and they still are able to determine seeding in the SEC Tournament. There might be some complicated tiebreaker rules, but they'll figure it out.

SEC Shorts should do a bit with Missouri and Texas A&M welcoming in Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC. Something with them changing the schedule for 2024 in the night so that Texas has to play Georgia and Oklahoma has to play Alabama while Missouri writes Georgia off their schedule and A&M takes off Alabama. Finally, A&M and Missouri are free from their yearly beat downs from their SEC East/West division leaders of the past.

I'm kind of glad college football is changing in some ways as it has been the same format for a long time. However, this season will be bittersweet as it is the last "normal season" for the SEC and college football. I will miss the divisions. It will take some getting used to, but I/we eventually will get used to it.

In all fairness, A&M has only played Kentucky 3 times in their history. I guess now that will likely never change with the addition of 2 more schools.

"UT" is Tennessee. The University of Tennessee was a school before Texas was a state.
