    so helpful, thanks for the review!
    About to book our honeymoon.
    Is it worth booking the option where you have both breakfast and dinner is included? Or would you recommend to just get breakfast, and pay for lunch & dinner separately as we wish (possibly also outside of the resort somewhere?).
    We plan on staying at Hilton Moorea 5 days and then Four Seasons Bora Bora another 5 days

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steven! Thanks for your comment. So the half board deal is usually a good deal and then you feel less pressure at the hotel. We love a good half board package. I would recommend looking at the cost of the package add on per night and divide it by two. If it is more than $250, it would be worth reviewing some menus to see if you would spend that on dinner. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    • @ucismixmaster1
      @ucismixmaster1 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how much you eat. If you both always eat an appetizer, entree and desert then the dinner can be a good deal. However, in most cases the dinner packages will cost more than you would spend at dinner a la carte. We reviewed all the menus for lunch and dinner and compared prices to the meal package and found that even if we chose the most expensive items each meal (which may be excluded from the meal plan) it would cost about the same as the meal package for Four Seasons.

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a very good point - thank you for the feedback. We agree, it’s good to look at what the cost is of the meal plans versus the items on the menu you like 100%. If you get a deal through Costco travel or similar it can be a great deal but not always

      @VoyagerGuru  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey jade!! Thanks for reaching out :) we don’t yet have a comparison but that’s a great idea for a future video. So they all offer a little something different. Conrad will be the most “removed” in that it doesn’t face Otemanu the same way the others do. St regis, intercon and le bora bora basically are the same when it comes to location so it’ll come down to your interests, loyalty program and basically room type you want to book. If you need some help picking feel free to DM me in Instagram or email me at team@voyagerguru.com :) also I’m happy to look into any benefits/offers we have through our partner networks that don’t cost you anything extra :). - maren

      Hi Dana! thank you so much for your comment!! So the resort has a daytime boat into Vaitape thats about $30 a person I believe and it leaves in the morning and comes back around 3pm so that is a great option. We used our credit card most places. At PPT we took our 200 dollars in francs in spending money for tips and purchases at the market where they don't take cash. The ATM in the airport is the easiest place to grab some cash :)

      hey there! It really is hit or miss during rainy season - we were there this year in february and the weather was amazing. however, we have been in other years in february and had more rain - it really depends on the year. If February is your only shot, I say go for it! It's absolutely beautiful, even if it rains :). Your best bet will be summer months, but then again, it can rain any time.

      Hi there! thanks for your comment! We have not yet stayed at St. Regis, but some of the amenities I like about St. Regis is that they offer bicycles and also butlers. These additions would be amazing at Four Seasons, but are unfortunately not available. The location of both are wonderful (they're right next to eachother) so in that sense you cannot go wrong. Thanks for the review. How about the snorkeling experience at Four Seasons Resort? I can see there is no house reef at all under overwater bungalow. How much is the snorkeling tour?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andy! Thanks for your comment! So the reef is actually inside the lagoon on the land-side. They have a very extensive and beautiful protected area for swimming and you can even find octopus!! It really is stunning. You can wind along a very very calm channel that follows the walkways and land-area of the resort.

      @@VoyagerGuru Wow thanks for the prompt reply, much appreciated. I wonder if you guys can include snorkeling and scuba diving experience in your review of island vacation in the future. In my perspective, most of the time I would like to enjoy the natural wonders, especially vibrant and rich marine life during island vacation. I totally agree the views of Bora Bora and Mount Otemanu are just unbeatable. However, I have seen a lots of reviews of Bora Bora in that snorkeling at all luxury resorts are not good, compared to other top island vacation destinations in particular. Instead, you have to book guided snorkeling tours which are expensive and time-consuming, although it is not very impressive. The most attractive thing to me is the Skydive of Bora Bora and enjoy breathtaking views of the gorgeous natural landscape and turquoise waters. Personally I believe Bora Bora is more suitable for honeymoons than families😃 Finally, thanks for sharing your experience again and keep it up.

    We're going there next. Would you rather have an overwater bungalow facing the mountain or one with a pool. I heard you can't have both. And from some of the scenes, it looks as if there is some mountain view in a pool bungalow. Also, do the bungalow views get better the farther out into the water you are or does it not matter? Thank you in advance.

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Sounds awesome!! So a number of the overwater pool villas have a great mountain view, actually. Of course the suites on the end cap have great mountain views, but even the ones in the center of the U have good views facing the mountain. Regarding the view and how it changes, i'd say not necessarily. The view from some of the most central villas are fantastic due to the angle it has on the mountain. I will say, definitely book lagoon view or mountain view because beach view wasn't amazing because some are very close to the beach.
      Regarding dinner, I would say $100 per person at a minimum if you are ordering a few cocktails and an entree.

    Just finished watching the "Le Bora Bora" video before this one. out of those two which do you recommend more?
    EDIT: experiencing local food is a huge thing for us, and I just saw towards the end of this you mention that. Does Le Bora Bora have better options for local cuisine than the Four Seasons?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment! Le bora bora definitely seemed to have way more local cuisine. Part of their motto as a brand is to try and really lean into the culture and they did a good job of that overall. Four seasons we found a lot of times wondering why they had an Asian restaurant or Mediterranean when really they should have leaned in more to local fresh cuisine. We were disappointed they didn’t really have any poisson Cru, which is a staple of the cuisine! If local cuisine is important I’d say go with le bora bora 👌🏼. Also the rooms are super funky and cool with a nice modern tahitian vibe

    Had to ask, which type of over water bungalows are the private ones?? Just curious if it is the lagoon view or mountain view!!

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lagoon and Mountain View will be similar on privacy. Overall, four seasons does a good job with their privacy walls and making sure you can’t really see into the villas. I’d say the further out on the jetty you are, the more private it is because people won’t go swimming out there. The least private patios are the one bedroom suites with the lounge pagoda that is in full view of the neighbors. But lagoon and mountain will be similar - not total privacy, but pretty private compared to other hotels we’ve been to in BOB

      Hi Jo, we really liked the four seasons. The goal of our reviews is to evaluate what travelers can expect from their stay to have the best experience possible. This hotel will be an amazing experience, as long as you know what to expect. It’s in a pristine location with gorgeous rooms on a gorgeous property. The downsides of the property are the service and the food which are not comparable to what one would expect from a four seasons property anywhere in the world, particularly at this price point. That said, we certainly had a great time and met many others who did as well :)

    How would you rate the Four Seasons Bora Bora compared to the luxury resorts in the Maldives? Also is the water that same gorgeous turquoise as seen in the Maldives?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there! thanks for your comment :). It's a great question. So the two locations are totally different- Bora Bora has this incredible mountain view and culturally is a fantastic place to visit. There's a lot of opportunity to leave the resort to go into town, which is makes it quite different from the Maldives. the Maldives primarily has a "one island one hotel" concept so its fantastic if you don't mind staying in one place. From a purely amenities and resort perspective, no where in the world has the same caliber of hotels as the Maldives. When you compare the rate of a room at any of the 5 stars on Bora Bora to one of the dozens of 5 stars in the Maldives, you will find that Maldives is not only cheaper but you get WAY more bang for you buck. If you're looking purely for the better hotel, I would say Maldives 100%.

Regarding your january trip, that sounds wonderful!! Gili is VERY close to Malé so I would not recommend it. I stayed at Soneva Fushi and not Jani, but I can say if you are doing 2 resorts, Soneva Jani is a very worthwhile experience because the rooms are unlike anything you will see in your entire life!! Truly!!! Also, if you coupled it with Ritz Carlton, you would get two of the most unique experiences. Also, Ritz is a boat ride from Malé so it would be very easy transition to take the seaplane to Jani and then a 45 minute boat to the Ritz.

    5:40 “Lighting Experience”? Say what?….. get serious

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Serious as a can be! You might think it’s a joke, but top luxury hotels, and frankly even lower tier hotels take lighting very seriously. There’s a huge difference between wandering around your room for 10 minutes looking for light switches, and tapping “night mode” to dim the lights, close the blinds and set your door to do not disturb 🤷‍♂️ What makes a luxury resort 5 star are those details.
