Deep Space Nine and Voyager themes sounded so triumphant and heroic, could have been movie themes, like they're too good for TV. TNG's still my favorite though if only because it's the most nostalgic for me.
I wonder did Gene R ever guessed how huge his idea would be? I mean the foundation of Star Trek is that instead of fighting, we people start using our brains to explore the things around us and not to hurt each other!
Star Trek: Picard's theme used to be my favorite, but now it's the theme from Star Trek: Prodigy. Prodigy's opening animation and theme music stirred my soul the first time I experienced it. Beautiful!
Agreed. Opening credits are done with style and pays tribute to the original Star Trek. If you look closely, most of the images of people in the title opening are of the crew including Janeway. There's the right way, the wrong way and the Janeway! Voyager was hit and miss for me but Kate Mulgrew really made the character Janeway stand out. So far, I've watched the first 2 episodes and will say that although this show is aimed at "kids", I rather enjoyed it. Seems to capture the spirit that Gene Rodenberry was trying to illustrate. Now Discovery, don't get me started! : )
@@carter98nc Yes! My favorite was seeing Roq amongst the "rocks." I too have a soft spot for Voyager. It had quite a few ridiculous aspects, but the actors really sold it, especially Kate Mulgrew. I'm glad she's back in Prodigy.
TNG hooked me when I watched with my dad at age 5 in 1988 So nothing beats that for me but all these themes are good and give me nostalgia . not a cartoon guy though but still good.
Love seeing all the comments about loving so many of them. The Prodigy & Lower Decks one are such a fun addition to the older ones. SO GREAT. Thank you for compiling this!
I was a child of the 80s and 90s, so my Star Trek was TNG. I knew TOS from reruns and TAS from Nickelodeon. Watched DS9 and VOY, but stopped watching TV in 99, so knew nothing about ENT and forward until recently. The Prodigy theme is simply amazing, such an incredible build-up.
@@JayEeyOh, I'm working on it. I've been binge watching ST for a while now. Went through TOS, TAS, ENT, TNG, the first 10 episodes of PRO, and am now working on DS9
Nicely done. These intros all appear to be from the very first episode while the intros are usually modified a bit after the series gets rolling. Ex., you don’t see the Worm Hole in this DS9 opener. In Voyager, Chakotay and Torres are identified only by their names, without a rank. Doing so right away would give away the premise of the series.
I am really conflicted between TNG and Enterprise as my favorite series. TNG basically is Star Trek, there is no star trekkier star trek out there in my eyes. But I also really like the true sense of exploration aa less technical advanced enterprise gave us. A series where not every problem could be solved with some "revised techionbeam shield polarity trough the polentronic array or other techno babble. As for intro, TNG can't be beaten. I just really like how each intro is such a clear representation of it's time xD
Cool, thanks for that. Gave me chills from 1 jr after I was born ('87) and after that. The music immediately clicked and brought me back in the days ♡ Really cool to see the changes over the years!
I never gave it too much thought before now. But looking at the original opening credits, I see that the fast passes by the starship "Enterprise" is done from a down at the bow perspective. It may have been just the limits of special effects back then, but I wonder why the ship couldn't fly straight.
from the newer trek series, i definitely prefer the intros to Lower Decks and Prodigy because we actually get to see the damn ship flying through space XD call me old fashioned but to me, Star Trek intro means "Space Ships flying through space" and we don't really get that with Discovery and Picard. hell, we barely got it for Enterprise safe for the very end...
I love the lounge quality of the early ones😊 Also, does anyone else think there's a correlation between TNG and renaissance festivals? I was only a kid then, but seems to have been a major activity of the 90s. And TNG with all the pan flutes and Shakespeare (I know, only loosely related, buuuut....)
Lower Decks is my absolute favorite. Sometimes you can do wild stuff with animation, which works really well for the Star Trek universe, where, technically, anything goes in space! Love the theme too, and how imperfect the ship is 😆
Thank you for doing this. It is great watching these back to back as they all have different memories. TOS - This was my childhood. I was 12 when TOS first aired and I rushed home to see it every Thursday. TAS - I have just faint memories. TNG - Like many fans this holds a special place as the return of Trek and so many of us still think TNG had the best crew DSN - Great opening images and great music. Love watching that comet. Also, on any given day, my favourite series too. Likely my favourite title sequence. VOY - Very good and for me a little more special as my daughter would play it on the piano. The images were impressive too. ENT - I don't think I every hated the song but I came to like it. I also think the historical image progression was one of the best relating to the theme of a series. DIS - I thought was a weak theme with weak imagery. The imagery feels less about promoting the environment of the series but about promoting the fact we're making a TV show. PIC - I like the music but not the imagery plus hard to separate the theme from what I thought was a lackluster series. This is NOT my Jean-Luc Picard. LWD - Although my, depending on the day, second favourite series, the opening and the music is just average. It's funny like the series but the end scene with the ship's name and warping away places it seriously in the ST universe and timeline. PRO - Great music and initially great imagery. Glad they took the time on this when this could easily have been a more throw-away theme and opening.
Me too. Hard to pick my absolute favorite, but definitely my top 3 are TNG, Voyager and Enterprise. Those are the only themes I never skip when watching an episode.
My title sequence rankings. 1.Enterprise 2.The animated series 3.The original series 4.Lower Decks 5.Voyager 6.The Next Generation 7.Prodigy 8.Deep Space Nine 9.Strange New Worlds(I know it’s not on here but I had to include it) 10.Discovery 11.Short Treks 12.Picard
Well...the intro itself was really great with showing the beginnings of travel and exploration and the previous Enterprises, but the song for Enterprise (2001) didn't fit at all. Even to have a pop song. And even more so the redone version of its final season 4. Sorry, but no
@@Kaniber007 i love the first enterprise theme. It's inspiring, it's homely, it fits the tone of the show perfectly and the "humble beginnings" that it represents as a series. It's honestly beautiful and I maintain that the only reason people don't like it is because of the genre. Enterprise is a different kind of star trek, and it deserves a different kind of intro.
Great job. I really liked this. Next time, please use the second intros from DS9 and ST Enterprise. Different keys. Also, please include the french horn infused closing theme from ENT. Thanks 🖖
You really should have included the second TNG intro design at the very least, and the regular DS9 intro instead of the Emissary one (the updated intro of the later seasons would have been nice too). Using the openings from the first episode of each show doesn't always represent that show's typical title sequence.
ST:DS9 is and has always been my favorite. There's a bit of that Aaron Copland feel to it, especially the way it begins--a solo trumpet, with full brass and percussion sweeping in as the camera does the same. It's a "Fanfare for the Common Spaceman," and is majestic to me in a way the others fall short--although ST:TNG comes close. As for ST: Enterprise, FEH. The last thing I want from a Trek main title is a folk song. Yuck.
DS9 is not bad. But Enterprise was just as entertaining especially season 2 and season 3. As far as folks song, I didn't know Rod Stewart was "folk music."
TNG is the one that sticks with me the most, thanks to my aunt and my dad watching it a ton when I was growing up. Was not a fan then, but am much more a fan now!
I have a lot of respect for the Enterprise theme song. It was brave. People hate on it for being a departure from what is "expected". But things get stale if you just repeat the same old patterns. They didn't accidentally make a song. It was a deliberate choice to do something different from the usual theme tunes, with valid reasons behind that choice. Is it my favourite of all the themes? Nope. But it's not my least favourite either. It really suited that specific show. And for me, that's WAY more important than fitting pre-conceived notions of "Star Trek" in general.
Honestly, while I love ST, STG, DS9 and VOY themes (and the movie themes) I can't say I like any of them post then at all... except one. I thought I'd never find another Trek I'd love, and yet here comes Prodigy. Finally, a show that feels like the real thing. Amazing - and the amazing title credits are just the cherry on top.
Excellent compilation, thanks for posting. Just one small nit, you should have tried to show the original The Cage intro which had pretty shakey and disjointed visual effects of the Enterprise fly bys. It would have emphasized the fact it was made way way back in 1964!!!!
I love DS9 & Voyager the best out of the original series as they were the most entertaining out of em all. (And yes ive seen every Star Trek moives & Series and many of the spin offs.)
Also because of a comment below, I realized there was a change in the title sequence for Lower Decks and went and checked and the Borg attack scene changes between season one and two and changes again for season three. I had not noticed that previously.
Hmm. Never known 'Short Treks'. The intro for Lower Decks is hilarious. Appears I've given the animated shows a wide berth. Whatever criticism of the show out there, Voyager will always be my favourite theme. Thumbs up for this compilation.
I noticed in the credits for each show, with only one exception, all of them were "based on 'Star Trek' created by Gene Roddenberry." The exception was "Star Trek: Picard" which was "based on 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' created by Gene Roddenberry"
It was a direct lift from the main title for ST:TMP, but at a faster tempo and without a full orchestra treatment. th-cam.com/video/7AiSbxZYViE/w-d-xo.html
Also, now that I've listened to the whole thing (link above) there's echoes of the "Picard" theme in the quieter middle section, which makes poetic sense.
TNG will always be the flagship Star Trek show. - TOS was the predecessor - DS9 was the successor - VOY was the the remake (with a spin) - ENT was just a holodeck program taking place on TNG - STD was a failed attempt to be as different as possible to TNG - PIC was an extension of TNG - LD was a cartoon version of TNG
Does anyone here remember an online fanfic called Star Trek: Renaissance? The "hero ship" was a Phoenix Class, Enterprise-G and it looked an awful lot like the Protostar in ST: Prodigy. Especially when the ship is transformed for quantum slipstream. Edit: I had to look it up again, apparently got the letter wrong, it's not Ent-F, it's Ent-G. Whoops.
Now you gotta add Strange New Worlds. Best them since Voyager. I noticed you didn't include second TNG or DS9 openings or the special "In A Mirror, Darkly" version of the Enterprise opening
Even though the show itself was hit or miss, Voyager still has the best intro imo. That incredible theme and really iconic and beautiful imagery.
...And she looks SO GOOD with a bow wave in the edges of a stellar cloud...

Deep Space Nine and Voyager themes sounded so triumphant and heroic, could have been movie themes, like they're too good for TV. TNG's still my favorite though if only because it's the most nostalgic for me.
Honestly, “To Boldly Go…” is a requirement for me
The one at 5:30 sounds like the NBC Olympics theme
I have never skipped the intro of Prodigy!
It’s like Prodigy wants you to feel hopeful for the future

I envy you. You have so much Trek to catch up on! ENT was panned at the time but it’s better years later and when you can binge watch.
@@JayEeyOh, I'm working on it. I've been binge watching ST for a while now. Went through TOS, TAS, ENT, TNG, the first 10 episodes of PRO, and am now working on DS9
I am a big TNG/DS9 fan, but damn if the Voyager theme doesn't hit all the right notes of adventure and exploration
還有保持冷靜、人性、「關關難過關關過」堅持回家的路
Prodigy is the most epic Trek theme I've ever heard.
Well I don't know if I'd consider it epic, but the theme was written by Michael Giacchino who did the new Star Trek movies.

What a shitty zoomer take. Generic orchestra with generic CG for a generic globalist/diversity show. Star Trek is dead and has been since the 1990s.
I love all the intros; The Prodigy intro is my personal favorite. Looking forward to The Strange New Worlds intro.

@@mitchellkennedy7733 Shut up, Shilly McShillington.
I've just watched the SNW intro for the first time and it really was something else. I loved it.
@@Vespasian91 Me too.😊☺️
It's already out duder
The Cerritos has the greatest "FUCK THAT!" reaction in Star Trek history.
Star Trek will forever capture our imagination of exploration in the universe and beyond😊.
My vote is for Enterprise. That crew was more "real" and down to earth. I also love both themes.
Cool, thanks for that. Gave me chills from 1 jr after I was born ('87) and after that. The music immediately clicked and brought me back in the days ♡
Really cool to see the changes over the years!
I never gave it too much thought before now. But looking at the original opening credits, I see that the fast passes by the starship "Enterprise" is done from a down at the bow perspective. It may have been just the limits of special effects back then, but I wonder why the ship couldn't fly straight.
How Lower Decks hasn't been made into a video yet baffles the mind. It's such an amazing adaption of the star trek universe.
from the newer trek series, i definitely prefer the intros to Lower Decks and Prodigy because we actually get to see the damn ship flying through space XD
call me old fashioned but to me, Star Trek intro means "Space Ships flying through space" and we don't really get that with Discovery and Picard. hell, we barely got it for Enterprise safe for the very end...
It's hard to put words to, but i definately can understand what you're saying
Lower Decks is my absolute favorite. Sometimes you can do wild stuff with animation, which works really well for the Star Trek universe, where, technically, anything goes in space! Love the theme too, and how imperfect the ship is 😆
Star Trek Picard is some of the most beautiful music ever written for television.
Yeah right

This is outstanding. I'd love to see a re-cut adding in the Strange New Worlds opening titles
Thank you for doing this. It is great watching these back to back as they all have different memories.
TOS - This was my childhood. I was 12 when TOS first aired and I rushed home to see it every Thursday.
TAS - I have just faint memories.
TNG - Like many fans this holds a special place as the return of Trek and so many of us still think TNG had the best crew
DSN - Great opening images and great music.
I think Enterprises intro is one of my favourites to be honest.
Me too. Hard to pick my absolute favorite, but definitely my top 3 are TNG, Voyager and Enterprise. Those are the only themes I never skip when watching an episode.
My title sequence rankings.
1.Enterprise
2.The animated series
3.The original series
4.Lower Decks
5.Voyager
6.The Next Generation
7.Prodigy
8.Deep Space Nine
9.Strange New Worlds(I know it’s not on here but I had to include it)
10.Discovery
11.Short Treks
12.Picard
I think ill go back and watch all of the old ones.
Thanks for including the Animated series. It introduced me to the world of Trek
I can't wait to see and hear the Strange New Worlds intro.
Looking forward to that my dude.
I saw a snippet of it and it is CRAZY. Someone was definitely on some sort of psychedelic.
It is epic
@@Vespasian91 That it is.
looked the intro of star trek the orville. its also good i think.
Man, we really have never had a bad Star Trek intro
Nope
Well...the intro itself was really great with showing the beginnings of travel and exploration and the previous Enterprises, but the song for Enterprise (2001) didn't fit at all. Even to have a pop song. And even more so the redone version of its final season 4. Sorry, but no
@@Kaniber007 Disliking it just for BEING a pop song is invalid to me.
@@Kaniber007It would be so much better even if they used the end title theme.
ok.. im convinced.. im gonna watch Prodigy one.. that looks interesting story to follow..
You missed the intro for TOS Season 2 that extends the credits to include DeForrest Kelly as Dr. McCoy.
And TOS season 2 intro brought back the woman's voice singing along with the theme
Great job. I really liked this. Next time, please use the second intros from DS9 and ST Enterprise. Different keys.
Also, please include the french horn infused closing theme from ENT. Thanks 🖖
didn’t The Original Series theme and sequence change more than once?
You really should have included the second TNG intro design at the very least, and the regular DS9 intro instead of the Emissary one (the updated intro of the later seasons would have been nice too). Using the openings from the first episode of each show doesn't always represent that show's typical title sequence.
Deeep space 9 intro works so well
It shows you slowly nearing
Than fly bys, defiant and more
ST:DS9 is and has always been my favorite.
Yuck.
I love the DS9 introduction as well. The music really captures the isolation of the station and tells you it’s so very different from TNG.
Classical composer and singer. Listen to the closing theme with beautiful french horns.
Prodigy's gives me chills when the ship transforms to go into warp.
As a life long Trekkie I gotta agree that Prodigy hit me in the feels! 🥺🖖🏽🥲
The FULL Prodigy theme is here: th-cam.com/video/LMPZup-5E6w/w-d-xo.html
I LOVE IT!
My favorites:
1. Voyager
2. DS9
2. TNG
3. Enterprise
Funny thing is TOS was the most realistic. No sound in space so no swooshing.
i think if gene Roddenberry was alive right now he be very pleased with all the star trek series that has been so far
Por favor en español gracias
Honestly, while I love ST, STG, DS9 and VOY themes (and the movie themes) I can't say I like any of them post then at all... except one. I thought I'd never find another Trek I'd love, and yet here comes Prodigy. Finally, a show that feels like the real thing. Amazing - and the amazing title credits are just the cherry on top.
Anyone else notice they Missed the 2nd variation of the DS9 and Enterprise Theme as well as the In A Mirror Darkly Theme
🖖😎👍Very totally wonderfully really cool and very truly fabulously Awesomely well done indeed!👌.
It's high time to add Strange New Worlds to this list since it has already had 2 seasons.
Excellent compilation, thanks for posting. Just one small nit, you should have tried to show the original The Cage intro which had pretty shakey and disjointed visual effects of the Enterprise fly bys. It would have emphasized the fact it was made way way back in 1964!!!!
Why is that even a nitpick??? Jesus
@@DS9Sisko Some people take things waaay too seriously.
I love DS9 & Voyager the best out of the original series as they were the most entertaining out of em all.
(And yes ive seen every Star Trek moives & Series and many of the spin offs.)
The original series or the next generation would have to be my favorite
Also because of a comment below, I realized there was a change in the title sequence for Lower Decks and went and checked and the Borg attack scene changes between season one and two and changes again for season three. I had not noticed that previously.
Next Wednesday Star Trek will be celebrating the 55th anniversary!!!!!
Yes!! Looking forward to the celebration!!!😊
They are all great series i love them all, the one i love the most is Voyager. thanks for uploading.
You missed the second openings of each show that had them, but in the case of Enterprise that just added what amounted to war drums.
The TOS theme just encapsulates what TOS really was, a show where you always knew that the heroes will win, a beautiful adventure.
Looking forward to an update with the strange new Worlds theme added
Thank you so much for the memories
Thank You for not adding junk just a straight run......
According to my personal point of view the following had good ratings with the Star Trek series and here they are as follows:
In first place it is: Star Trek with Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike. Then in second place it is: Star Trek: The Original Series with Mr William Shatner and Mr Leonard Nimoy as Captain James T Kirk and Mr. Spock. Then in third place it is: Star Trek: The Animated Series with the same actors and finally the fourth and final series is: Star Trek: The Next Generation with a new cast of actors.
This is my personal opinion about the ratings of each and every single one of the first four series.
Please have a nice day today. ©®

Just loved it. I just wanted that the 1966 Star Trek opening to be the original version, i.e. non CGI improved. My favorite is 'Star Trek Voyager'.
Hmm. Never known 'Short Treks'. The intro for Lower Decks is hilarious. Appears I've given the animated shows a wide berth. Whatever criticism of the show out there, Voyager will always be my favourite theme.
Thumbs up for this compilation.
That Enterprise theme is just out of place. They should have used that show's ending theme as its opening / title theme.
I noticed in the credits for each show, with only one exception, all of them were "based on 'Star Trek' created by Gene Roddenberry." The exception was "Star Trek: Picard" which was "based on 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' created by Gene Roddenberry"
Very nice.
Really appreciate you using the original DS9 intro, not the stuff up one ;-)
The Next Generation has the best theme song.
I think its DS9 but I used to think that too
It was a direct lift from the main title for ST:TMP, but at a faster tempo and without a full orchestra treatment. th-cam.com/video/7AiSbxZYViE/w-d-xo.html
Also, now that I've listened to the whole thing (link above) there's echoes of the "Picard" theme in the quieter middle section, which makes poetic sense.
TNG will always be the flagship Star Trek show.
- TOS was the predecessor
- DS9 was the successor
- VOY was the the remake (with a spin)
- ENT was just a holodeck program taking place on TNG
- STD was a failed attempt to be as different as possible to TNG
- PIC was an extension of TNG
- LD was a cartoon version of TNG
Does anyone here remember an online fanfic called Star Trek: Renaissance? The "hero ship" was a Phoenix Class, Enterprise-G and it looked an awful lot like the Protostar in ST: Prodigy.
Especially when the ship is transformed for quantum slipstream.
Edit: I had to look it up again, apparently got the letter wrong, it's not Ent-F, it's Ent-G. Whoops.
Schade das der Käfig wahrscheinlich nur auf Tele5 ausgestrahlt wurde
Now you gotta add Strange New Worlds. Best them since Voyager.
I noticed you didn't include second TNG or DS9 openings or the special "In A Mirror, Darkly" version of the Enterprise opening
