It's not about morality, it's about religion. You clearly know nothing of Islam or any other religion for that matter else you wouldn't expect a woman to interact with a man yet you decided to judge them for being "immoral".
@@davidabdollahi7906 there is nothing special about religion other than an organisation of mass mental disorder patients. And for them to mandate their own mental disorder on everyone is immoral and a threat to humanity.

this movie is a masterpiece. if you haven't seen it, especially if you're an art/animation nerd, you're selling yourself short. it's beautiful and timeless. this scene is a perfect example of how the movie balances the funny, more human parts of marjane's life growing up, while also showing the utter devastation the war has had on her life, family, culture.
Can I ask, who were those women (in an historical context)? Were they part of a kind of discipline committee, a religious police of the time in Iran? Or were they just average citizens, taking it upon themselves to force morality on those they considered lax? I'm wondering what sort of power they had to take the girl with them in the first place, and where they were going to take her if she hadn't convinced them otherwise.
They are just our normal police and we still have them , they are always in streets watching out women and so if they don’t have a good hijab , they will take them to police station and stuff , they can take you to police station for so many dumb reasons and no one can say a shit , if you resist going with them , they will even beat you and hurt you physically, they even beat young girls and children, it’s so painful:(
Women's branch of Islamic police. They arrest people who are not wearing the hijab right, or acting in un-islamic ways. The penalty is usually either a large fine (equivalent to a couple month's rent), or failing that, physical punishment (lashes, beatings).

To my knowledge it was just "generic Iron maiden sounding music" since the actual royalties needed to use an Iron Maiden song were too high. Apparently they just threw together a song which sounded like them for that scene, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's just those 20 seconds of music, not a full song.
I don't think it's from an actual Iron Maiden song. I read somewhere that because of copyright, the film has to create their own "Iron Maiden" song, even though it's really short just for this once scene.
"They were guardians of the revolution, the women's branch, this group had been added in 1982, to arrest women who were improperly veiled." taken from the book
As far as I know the movie is a french production/adaptation of a graphic novel of the same name.
