@@piussetyo he just points out the statement@6:16.the narrator said it is 2nd largest helicopter.it is the largest MASS produced helicopter but 2nd largest helicopter EVER produced.the largest ever goes to v-12 which only 2 units were produced.i think many people are not aware of this.hence they complain about its size rank.it has nothing to do with its price.

Mi-8M (exported as Mi-17) is my favourite for 90% of the tasks. NH-90 is superior to certain tasks, so both, please! Helicopters are among the best products to buy from Russia. Mi-8M is a reliable work horse with huge numbers produced and exported to all over the world, including many NATO countries.

I was just thinking ALL of our helicopters are 2-4 times more expensive than Russia’s equivalents, alligator to Apache, super stallion to that airline lifting MI, 1/3 to 1/4th the cost of the closest helo on the Us military, care is nearly twice the soldiers , liftable weight is insanely more, I know our tech and sensors etc are greater on a lot of our helos but the alligator is nose to nose with the AH64 and a fraction of the cost with amazing tech. I dunno, I worry putting all our eggs in the sensor / fly by wire basket, we’re spending $130M per f35 and russia is cranking out the latest SU 4.5 gen aircraft that are amazing performers in large numbers . Minimizing our # of aircraft to have super tech replacements that rely 100% on sensors, AI computer flight systems , aircraft that can not be flown without the AI and these supercomputers aboard. Meanwhile Russians building a massive Airforce of amazing fighters that can take off, land , fly in any condition, can literally land with no gear on a snow flat , be jacked up lower the gear and take off again. Can be flown 100% without its computer systems when our f35 hits a bird it has to have service done that’s resicilusly expensive to maintain the stealth aspect. When they cancelled the SU-57 5th gen project after 10 amazing units, they dumped them money into cheap scramblers, jammers, EMP, Blocker tech, satellite destroying surface to air missiles, etc. when that SU30 flew over the US destroyer ost year with the new latest and insanely expensive missile defense system doing a routine low flyover that we do to each other with wings light , the defense system was armed jsut to track the aircraft for just testing obviously not going to fire on a weoponless SU and as it got close the turrets started to turn to acquire the target and then the entire system went dark. Even manually trying to operate the targeting screens were black, they tried to reset the system with the onboard Raytheon contractors and couldn’t after 3 tries and had to return to port for service where it sat for 3 1/2 weeks. Our most advanced destroyer /naval fleet protector /iron dome like system suppose to protect the fleet and Carrier especially went dark seconds before the Russian Sukhoi flies over with a second one circling observing??? The next day the Russian Air Force spokesperson “tweeted” yes tweeted that a new weapon system jamming device was successfully tested snouts a Sukhoi flying over a “western” destroyer visibly shutting down the missile rack turret nearly immidately. He said the jamming pod is relatively very inexpensive and is begging mass production for installation on aircraft, ships. Submarines, ground vehicles , hand held troop units and experimentation with small drone vehicles the fly and also others thst are underwater submersible drones small enough to not be detected that can maneuver relatively close to ships and jam systems. A single jammer pod on a 4th gen fighter jet shuts spent he most advanced and expensive new missile defense system responsible for the naval fleet protection??????? Had that been an Act of war with a wings light aircraft buzzing and jamming the system , then some long range ship destroying missiles fired from land or multiple incoming jets, the fleet would have suffered crazy losses. With hacking tech scrambling emps I’m legitimately worried about where were going. ALL new military aircraft and fighting vehicles to be fly by wire and unman capable by 2025 is taking out all our vehicles that can operate without tech, the A10 winding down, the F16, F15 and 18 4th gen aircraft , helicopters , everything that can fly regardless of some jamming pod being retired . I don’t understand why when we already HAVE ALL of the airframes and vehicles why we don’t keep half in service with the new stuff. The A10 JUST was upgraded massively with the latest sensors , more armor, range and power with new weapon systems and they’ll be retired soon? The cheapest aircraft to maintain , most reliable , a tank on the sky built to sustain heavy damage and continue fight and recently hugely updated and hell , let’s scrap em! At the very least I wish we’d not retire the super hornets , F16’s A10’s etc and move them stateside with the national guard. Im The event of an invasion or a war when EMP and jammer tech renders our new stuff useless or our satellites are all blown out of the sky at least we’d have still have the second largest Air Force when losing all our new vehicles. I hate that this multi sensor system plan was responsible for the the Marines announcing the use of the main battle tank (Abrams) jsut upgraded latest block and now an entire branch eliminating it banking on laser guided weapons that may not operate of some EMP tech works? Clearly our department of defense and congress has weighed this possibility and maybe they have some combative measures or something but if there’s one thing we know. Russia and China are genius hacker nations . I also worry about unmanned attack helicopters, fighter jets fighter jet drones. Predator drones operating on AI, could get us in a world war quick if an AI Attack drone decides a SU-27 comming to push it out is dangerous and fires on it. I’ve figured our military is prepared for all this BUT that destroyers defense system was the biggest example of what I fear and fives me NO confidence that were ready for a full fly by wire combat arsenal. Unmanned smaller electric tanks, etc, if we can’t protect a naval fleet with the most expensive and advanced defense system we’ve ever employed against a single fighter with a jammer pod, how the hell are we going to fend against this stuff in drone vehicles? Anyone with knowledge about it I’d love to have my mind set at ease but it’s really concerning.

Well I could write out the US and the latest block Abrams from that one. The US Marines announced they are ACTUALLY DISCONTINUING USE OF THE MBT MAIN BATTLE TANK COMPLETELY! As in no more used , the Abrams Marine main battle tanks will no longer be used in the Marines and the US Army is cutting their tank battalions in half as well and Artillary being cut way down along with fight force size????? We HAVE ALL OUR ABRAMS TANKS AND CREWS ALREADY WITH A RECENT BLOCK UPDATE, WHY DISCONTINUE USE??? I could understand if we were talking about purchasing all new tank battalions and putting cost elsewhere but we have them already and the trained men, I think it’s SO damn assenine the Marines and Army are doing this banking on laser guided missiles. If Russia ever invaded the US or moved west in an invasion of Europe they have the largest number of MBTs in the world, so we well cut our numbers down by 4/5ths!!???? Which would make our battalions useless and so outnumbered we’d be no help to NATO. Every big military is developing the latest new MBT’s and we’re retiring entire branch battalions??? I don’t get it. Maybe I’m wrong and if in that event the F35 targets it’s 16 tanks and fires all with multi sensor battlefield guidance and take out all 16 but we have no proof this concept we are banking on is going to dominate a massively armed military power like Russia. The first time in history a military is leaving conventional battle /combat vehicles and airframes in large numbers to go to crazy expensive super high tech AI functioning drive by wire vehicles in much smaller numbers and 5 times the cost. In the event of a superpower war with Russia or a China or both, The US will either dominate the war with never before seen success OR russia and China’s development of EMP , jammers, scramblers , blockers , satelite destroying missiles , hypersonic missiles will eff up electronic sensor signals , data, onboard AI computers and all our super tech will fall out of the sky and with no mechanical conventional equipment and smaller military force , we would be rolled over so easily in that event. Scary stuff. But back to your request, the Abrams would be on that list at the top along with Russian MBTs but we will officially be out of the Main Battle Tank game. The only military superpower to be eliminating it in a world where then next threat is a Russian and maybe Chinese invasion or much more likely , one of our or NATOs super advanced AI drones or AI flying F35 decides to launch all 16 missiles at 16 targets its picked or the number of a nuclear weapons int the world that terrorist organizations want to use to start war between the superpowers, or crazy North Korean Lim Jung Un or Iranian President decides to launch a massive nuclear strike against the US or nato. These leaders can solely order a full launch and they could easily be crazy enough to suicide it, we see this all the time with Isis. Say Kim Jung Un gets Cancer and dying a miserable death and decides hey I’m A God, so I’m ordering the mass launch of all our Nukes and suiciding the world since I can’t be here. I truly thing that’s the one of her largest possibilities of how the next world war will begin. Although if that happened and he mass launches all of their Intercontinental Nukes at Japan, Sourh Korea, the US Nato allies, the world is over, literally , even if we don’t launch a single retaliatory nuke. North Korea and Iran both have enough nuclear missiles to end the world. Fulll nuclear winter and spread of mass radiation with the trade winds and atmosphere to the entire planet refuting Earth uninhabitable a a couple million years and killing all life on earth. mr. Tesla and a few will get up to the space station with supplies to live our life , US governent leaders will go to the Colorado Nuclear fallout bunker and live our life there while we all die miserable painful deaths . We ought to be focusing on hypersonic missiles that will take out intercontinental Nukes in the atmosphere instead of all the Bs were focusing on.

Or $80M ????? Good lord it’s resiculous!!!! US contractors building our military equipment are literally raping the American people and military massively overcharging our governent for everything they build. $6M for a single defense missile on a destroyer ???? $80M for a helicopter that lifts a fraction of the Russian king that hauls nearly twice the men and can transport a military cargo jet, all for $25M? Our $130M F35 a piece verses the latest Sukhoi fighter at $25M or even the concealed SU-57 5th gen F35/f22 competitor that was extremely impressive at ONLY $42M US equivalent!?!?! It’s on par with the tech of the F22 and 35, faster, flies higher, all sheathed all condition jet that could land and take off in snow on makeshift runways, advanced thrust vectoring , stealth, I’m a Patriot and LOVE our military and equipment BUT if Russian contractors can build the contested larger more capable SU-57 5th gen F35 competition for nearly a $100M LESS A PIECE we are getting raped on the F35! Hell if India hadn’t pulled out of their 130 unit order of SU57’s Russia was procuring their entire SU57 squadrons off that deal and we would have been equally matched in the air . Our Allies buying F35’s wouldn’t have the advantage they do now. I think we should have scrapped the F35 and made a deal with Russia to order twice the number in SU57’s lol jj obviously the US involvement with India in breaking that deal was carefully deviously orchestrated to completely destroy Russia’s 5th gen program which we did and thereby leaving Russia with 10 total units and no money left in the program so they had to scrap it. A cheap shot by us but a smart one. Can u imagine how angry Putin must have been watching their entire massive wing of 5th gen fighters go up in flames with one broken deal that we aided in with a mysterious donation of some tech and funds which many think was the US strengthening relations with India , sharing some tech for the development of their own 5th gen fighter but most importantly canceling Russia’s entire program. Ouch. It was unrealistic which was why they were buying 130 SU57’s but then suddenly by deadline cancel the entire order and mysteriously have a few key tech pieces that made the 5th gen program randomly now doable when it wasn’t a realistic consideration prior. Many think the US shared some stealth tech , some AI supercomputer /sensor tech information they needed but all seem to say the information is definitely scaled back or information where the US has a back door to maintain a superior fighter. Who knows but your point of choosing the $24M over the triple cost US equivalent lol

Huge helicopters are very inefficient, Russia is made to manufacture these due to a lack of proper airfields. Similar situation with huge off-road trucks. Russia has no roads to carry stuff so "impressive" off-road vehicles are a must not a wonder of engineering. It's in fact the lack of engineering in building roads.

Anyone have any idea why our attack helicopters and the replacements comming our still are not utilizing ejection systems for pilot survivability like Russia’s Helos (Alligator) if it’s going down the airframe is a total loss and won’t fly again, so why keep our pilots strapped to a doomed aircraft? These crumple cockpits cause more broken backs and necks than anything in a crash, watching the blade ejection concept on the Alligator they have nearly 100% survivability of pilot and gunner when hit by a projectile or have System failures. Seems like a no brainer to me.

I’ve gotta say I’m very impressed with Russia’s $25M MI that can lift so much more than the King Stalion or Chinook , transports 85 loaded soldiers and costs 1/3 the king stallion. 3 of these could bring in 250 men, a shitload more equipment or heavier combat vehicles , for the cost of one king stallion that lifts a fraction of one MI and carries 55. Russia knows how to stretch their dollar and take advantage of their personnel size, massive amounts of equipment etc. like the Amazing SU-57 5th gen fighter sadly canceled after 10 units, more capable in a number of ways that the F35 , all sheathed all comdtion 5th gen fighter that can take off and land even in snow and makeshift runways, faster, flies higher, more maneuverable, bigger payload and $42M per unit versed $90-130M per F35. I do t even think that it’s necessarily just Russia stretching the buck, Sukhoi is a Russian patriot company, they’d rather have the best military for their mother country possible and is willing to sacrifice massive profit to accomplish , maybe Russia has put some fear in their eyes too with persuasion to keep cost down but in the US, military contractors rape our governent and people. The big CEOs and chairman high ups make insane profits off the US and we jsut pay it and take the kick to the balls! It’s rediculous!!!! Companies like Raytheon make insane profits on single missile when Russia and China buy the equivalent for the smallest fraction of the cost. The SU57 is thought by many experts to be better Than the F35 in about every way and costs 1/3 of one so it’s 100% possible to build the F35 at a relative cost! Profiting SO largely off the American public and military for our own countries military equipment should not be tolerated! They could cut large amounts of cost down, stop fluffing numbers in the R&D program cost to keep our country safe. If these contractors would cut even 10% of their personal profits out we could add that much more equipment to our force.

Wait until the next gen fly by wire replacements for the Blackhawk and attack helicopters get pricing. With our US defense contracting greedy ass high ups making insane profits I’m betting the next get replacements that are already in testing are going to be resiciiusly prices especially considering their incorporating some stealth tech and lastest fly by wire and sensor tech. I was able to see them in Dubai at the defense show and good Lord they are the most advanced looking airframes I’ve ever seen , capable of having no pilot on board , crazy , but I can’t imagine the costs that will come with these push rotor next gen helos! Bit worried it’s going to be relatively the same jump from a Super Hornet to F35 going Blackhawk to the new replacements. King stallion is bad ass too! But a $65-$70M helo that transports 55 with a fraction of the weight transport of the MI ,...the 85 soldier airframe carrying a jet lol and costs 1/3 of this? I know the tech and sensor packages are beyond the Mi but man that’s expensive! The Alligator cost compared to an Apache same thing and some say more advanced? Just seems like the unbelievable amount of money we spend in military equipment could stretch further if the pockets of the top directors of these companies weren’t being so heavily lined. The profits made in US contracted equipment is insane and irritates me a lot. Wish the CEO,s and top execs of these companies would be Patriots and knock off some of the proffit to get more equipment for the same cost. Raytheon and other missile and ordinance /weapon system company’s are the worst offenders. The cost of any of our missiles is so insanely priced it’s angering! Russia and Chinas comparables again are a fraction of the cost.

I like The RAF's AW101 Merlins most but I'm biased, because I'm English and because it's the best helicopter in its class closely followed by the NH-90 and the Sikorsky Blackhawks, I also like them in that order too.
When the UK replaces it's AW101s in 2030+ we should either set out requirements and out a competition of British/US/European helicopter manufacturing companies like Airbus and Sikorsky or Boeing, creating competition for the best design and price for what we need in a utility multirole, multimissions helicopter for mission requirements such as SF's insertion, commando strike capabilities, troop transport, med-evac, even an attack version for interdiction and anti-tank missions, something like the Augusta Westland 101 Merlin, but Better, which will be hard to beat but we'll beat it.
