The Ms. Swan and Stuart were my favorite skits. When Stuart goes look what I can do and jumps up and kicks his feet lol the nostalgia is great with these
When the Pretty Lovely Beauty Nail Shop gets robbed and the police are trying to question her, she adds, "he look ... lika man! Not like dat loser over there!" I'm dead every time!
I think the beauty of Miss Swan is that she's always trying to blend-in but her strong accent (and a possible hearing handicap) keeps her alienated, though she never gives up, because she loves the U.S.A. ... and we love her!
I always thought that accent was pure fiction, but there was a filmmaker a few years ago who interviewed her Asian aunts who were raised in Hawaii and I swear, all of them sounded exactly like Miss Swan. It's a peculiar combination of accents.
Stuart and his Mom at the DMV (renewing her drivers lic) with Ms Swan either in line (in front of them or behind the window) now THAT would've been challenging & insanely-hilarious to attempt !
I don't see why they don't just make a comeback maybe in film form and do this today. Pretty sure everyone from most of these skits is still alive, if Jackass and Eric Andre can do it, why not MAD?
The worst was if a cassette had a wrinkle somewhere in it and the VCR "ate" the tape and then you try to eject it from the machine but the result is a godawful tangled up mess. I do not miss that, LOL.
0:29 Lol I wonder if it’s a coincidence or on purpose that out of all the the film aisle signs, Ms. Swan pops up in front of “Foreign” films. Since the ongoing joke is that we don’t know where she’s really from. 😅 🤔
We had a chain video store in Canada called “Gone Hollywood” and they had an adults section right next to the kids section and the popcorn machine. Even in the 90s they still had 47 cent Tuesday rentals (including new releases) and plus free popcorn I mean can you imagine 2 movies and a popcorn for a buck these days.
@@zencompton8744 yes but uploaded at a later date obviously, my point to S. Nonaka was that even if this was recorded 14 years ago (which it was longer than that) video stores were still a thing lol

"Little boys who aren't polite give the pro-choice movement a reason to exist." "Little boys who eavesdrop deserve to hear the truth and the truth is always devastating." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, I remember we had to rent portable VHS player along with the tapes because we didn't have one in the mid to late 90's. And its funny to remember how exciting it was to look through the tapes to try and find something that looked interesting, and it could be either good or bad or something inbetween. That was before looking for grades on IMDB was a thing. Crazy times.
I still use some of the bits, like Michael Richards' hair standing on end - if something is really shockingly unreal or scary, I shove my hand under the hair on top of my head , and lift it to look just like his did when he was psyched out.
True, with The Time Warp sequence and such. But Prom Night was probably the best answer for "spooky and also dancing". Lots of disco dancing there. And it's more scary than Rocky Horror.
I still use the whole "he look ah like a man" lol. Also,my hubs and I are avid VHS collectors and yes,we watch them. Perfect for when there is a storm and crazy weather,or that nostalgic tracking. :p
My mom and I loved these Miss Swan sketches so much, especially the line "He looka like a man." 😆
