Drinking liquid makes you full she avoided it because the meal was already heavy soup would’ve made it worse

The first thing I would've done was mix the rice with everything else in the bowl making it much easier to eat. I say this because there's a rice dish I have delivered to my place once in a while and it has a lot of white rice under the three meats, tomatoes and lettuce. It's awesome that way.
super eaters mainly save the carbs for the end so they can shovel in as much as they can of the other stuff first

I do believe I would have scooped some of that soup to go on top of all that rice. Just something to change up the flavor and make it easier to get the rice down.
