Meh. Everyone and their dog has heard that particular spoiler. It's like the reveal that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father. Personally, the knowledge never hampered my ability to enjoy the film. Because the film is not about that particular mystery at all. It's just a framing device that provides us with a reason to travel throughout the life of Charles Foster Kane to witness his rise and fall, which is what the film is *really* about. I've even heard Welles say that he didnt like having that Mcguffin in the story and that it might have been better if we never learned what Rosebud was at all, just as the reporters never do. Then, it IS a nice affirmation of what the man had really been chasing after all his life...so who knows, really? What I do know is, is that most everyone knows what Rosebud is despite never having seen the film and that knowing what it is doesnt detract from the film or one's ability to enjoy it at all. Though, yes, it WOULD have been nice to be able to go into that film blind. But when a film is as iconic as Citizen Kane is, people living in modern times just have to accept that such a thing simply is not possible. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ruth Warrick was a scream... remember her as Aunt Phoebe in All My Children?
