The car chucks remind me of the smaller door chucks from the breaching videos. Those chucks grow up so fast.

Greta video! A little side note. When using the step cribbing the way that you are in this video, think about how much less friction you’ll be getting with the steps facing the ground (has potential of slipping). Everyone’s go to move with step cribbing is to flip it and use it as a wedge. Just grab some 4x4 or 6x6 wedges. Not knocking on what you’re doing, just wanted to share a little knowledge of what I’ve done and seen on runs. Keep doing what you’re doing and stay salty my friends!✌🏻

Now how do you open the hood to secure the battery?

Many times were just doing this "quick" procedure to assist the victim out of the vehicle and not to set up for extrication. Either way stabilization is our first priority - Not that disconnecting the battery isn't a concern (to reduce undeployed air bag activation and fire hazards), but the reality is that batteries can be in A LOT of different locations. If we can pop the hood before placing the front strut on the clean side we will, but we won't delay it looking for the battery.

@@DALEGPEKEL Makes sense, it's another tool in the box, not a standard procedure.

Why do y’all wear the belts around the turnout coats?

It's a utility and escape belt - Which allows Firefighters to carry tools and equipment as well as to attach a rope systems for self rescue or victim rescue. Thanks for your question!
