  • Stourbridge is a market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands, England, situated on the River Stour. Historically in Worcestershire, it was the centre of British glass making during the Industrial Revolution.
The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Great Britain, continental Europe, and the United States, in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840.

As a Brit born and raised in Stourbridge but have lived in the US for 52 years I loved this video.
I have taken this journey MANY times in the 1950s and 60s, things have changed but so much as I do not recognize places. My wife was also born and raised in Stourbridge, we did have some heated opinions as to exactly where we were at some points during the journey.
Also, thank you for not adding one of those GODAWFUL sound tracks that other video producers use, those sound tracks make you want to SCREAM after a few moments.
    Again thanks for the memories.
We both worked in Birmingham during the 1960s and remember the city fondly.
We have been back to England MANY times to visit our families who we are still very close to, England is still HOME.

My wife and I were born and raised in Stourbridge, we were born in 1941 and 1942, I went to King Edwards and my wife to Halesowen Grammar.
I got into the Computer industry in 1962, I worked for Honeywell best known for their thermostats but a huge company that was also a computer manufacturer as well.
I was hired by a US company in 1970 and came to the USA, we lived in Chicago where we prospered and expanded our family with a daughter. I have had a marvelous career working for companies like Hewlett Packard and the internet pioneers 3Com and Cisco Systems. Then working for Silicon Valley startups, great fun. We have kept a very close connection with our families in England and have visited MANY TIMES. More recently the visits have sadly been for funerals.
This video was WONDERFUL, my wife and I both worked in Birmingham in the 1960s and knew the city VERY WELL. We travelled both by bus and train MANY TIMES.
Although we followed the video fairly well we got lost several times, when we reached Brum we were truly LOST.
Thanks again for the memories, didn’t someone else say that?
My only criticism is that there was no narrative which would have been of immense value as well as preventing the heated arguments as we both claimed to know exactly where every scene was, only to be proved that memories can be very misleading.
    Thanks again.

I and my wife were born in Stourbridge in 1942 and 1941 and we still I still consider it as part of Worcestershire, we consider ourselves as proud natives of Worcestershire.
We have lived in the USA since 1970 and have visited our families MANY times but England is still HOME.

@@oldedwardian1778 Yes but the Boundaries changed in 1970 and Stourbridge is now a part of the West Midlands County, Worcestershire starts at the edge of Halesowen now.

This otherwise good video is spoiled by a foreign body on the camera screen.
