Tbf death really doesn’t matter that much in the show. If you die then you can just train in Otherworld for a time until you get brought back, and depending if you’ve died before then it’d be with the Namekian dragonballs sure, but you still come back. That’s why nothing really feels worth anything past Frieza. Because death is just an easy fix. They’ve done it countless times every saga. BBEG comes, kills a few nameless people, maybe fights some of the Z fighters, vegeta gets his ass kicked, Goku wins. That’s the formal after Cell

People really underestimate how much control Krillin has over his ki and power level. It would make him an almost perfect assassin but he chose to become a police officer instead.

Asians in a nutshell
I miss stuff like this where the Z Fighters would try to blend in. This tournament and later Gohan in highschool trying to keep his powers hidden. These gods walking among common men thing was just enjoyable.
Need more of that. This whole massive scope of angels and destroyers and multiuniversal threats just feel like a lot of fluff with little substance.
Honestly what made dragon ball really interesting was how the main characters interact with the real world would attempt to blend in. No matter how much I despise what they did do gohan after defeating cell and bojak particularly start of buu saga where they made his character stop training, it was kind of enjoyable to see him try to blend in while in school arguably great saiyaman was possibly the worst thing they could've done with gohan. Tournament saga was actually the most interesting cause it had the most earthlings in it.

But in reality if you were 4 years old got your ass kicked then got kidnapped by your uncle. To then watch your dad die trying to save you, then get your ass kicked repeatedly by piccolo be forced to camp outside make your own food and get chased by dinosaurs. Then train with piccolo for 2 years to get stronger to get beaten up by Nappa watch Tien get his hand chopped off watch Yamcha die, watch piccolo die and powerless to do something about it get your ass kicked by vegeta. Watch as your dad gets his ass kicked by vegeta. Watch your dad become nearly crippled by vegeta. Go to namek while image training with krillen. Get ass kicked by vegeta again. Gets kneck broken by Recoom, Watch vegeta get killed by frieza, watch krillen get killed by frieza, watch piccolo get killed by frieza. Get back to earth see frieza again. Watches his dad have heart virus in near death state once again. Then after all of it trains in lookout gets stronger becomes the strongest character in the verse gets overconfident with power to watch your dad sacrifice himself for your mistake and at this point it's implied that goku is permanently dead and won't be back. Defeat Cell, Defeat bojack Canon or not. Would you stop training after becoming the strongest in the galaxy after seeing the amount of life threatening and world ending threats that gohan saw in his childhood. Gohan was meant to be the prodigy in reality he would've still been in top form/shape while balancing his studies arguably becoming one of the strongest and smartest fighters in dragon ball arguably one of the smartest characters on earth besides bulma and Dr Gero
