Where the old meets the new | MB O530 G Citaro facelift | TüBus Linie 5 (w/ commentary & spotting)

Already a month ago TüBus (Stadtwerke Tübingen) bought 7 brand-new MAN 19C EfficientHybrid buses and I did as soon as I could an extended review of them (check it out on the channel!).
This time I am going old-school (not that much but you get the idea;). This is one of the oldest TüBus in the entire fleet: a Mercedes-Benz 0530 Citaro G (C1 with a facelift) of 2009. The bus features no LCD monitors for the stops but an old dot-matrix. These buses are a rare sight nowadays, as they are constantly getting taken out of action (decommissioned). These are the older 0530 Citaro buses (2006-2009) that are up to Euro 5 EEV emission standard before the newer ones (2013-2016 and 2017-2020) came. Some of the older buses were retrofitted with colored screens instead of the dot-matrix panel but some others didn't. I have to say after all these years the dot-matrix panels do seem more reliable than the LCD panels and still work very good (except on this one!). It's a shame that many LCD screens in newer buses tend to have burned pixels and partially not work or being "in german: kaputt!".
With the arrival of newer buses, such as the MANs, these will be soon obsolete and probably only used on rare occasions (for example to substitute for a bus that's on service...)

Αν σου πω ότι πάντα το ξεχνώ και το γράφω 0530 (όχι ότι πολλοί το καταλαβαίνουν αλλά οκ!). Ευχαριστώ για την επισήμανση! Όχι δικά μου. Εεε εντάξει αυτά έχουν κάνει κοντά στο 1 εκατομμύριο χλμ τόσα χρόνια, βέβαια είναι αρκετά καλά συντηρημένα, ακόμα και τα πιο παλιά. Και η ηλικία τους φαίνεται αρκετά... Αν και είναι λίγο παραπάνω από δεκαετίας (αυτό παθαίνεις όταν συνηθίζεις στις κούτες, εκτιμάς λιγότερο τα παλαιότερα...).
