@@BloodMoonRoseseh i mean dont get me wrong its a bad album but not offensively bad. These albums were def more deserving. Not since Sia’s Music Album has there been a worse quality drop for an artist like Popular Monster. Going From the absolute peak of his career in the Popular Monster song to ruining that song entirely all with a ‘new album’ is legit shocking.
One of the best things of 2024 was just seeing everyone coming together to verbally decimate Popular Monster and Ronnie Radke. Genuinely one of the most grating, painful, and outright loathsome albums I’ve ever heard whose existence is nothing more than a self-insert fanfic about how Ronnie Radke is this cool badass fighting against cancel culture, masking the fact that he’s a egotistical manchild who can’t accept that people hate him for being human trash that claims his mix of stale octanecore and youtube lyrical rap is “”innovative””.
Falling in Reverse is definitely the worst album I've heard in 2024. I didn't listen to many of the absolute worst from last year but that one was torture
ill never understand why people still feature French Montana on songs considering A: no one likes him B: he drags the energy down to a halt everytime he shows up on a song
Falling In Reverse made really good music back when Jacky Vincent, Derek Jones, and Ryan Seaman we’re in the band and I just feel that Ronnie never gave them the credit that they deserve especially Jacky. Still sad about the departure of both Jacky and Ryan, and the passing of Derek as well.
I love how this is the second year in a row where you have an album on your Worst Albums list that appeared on my other favorite YT music critic Mic The Snare’s Best Albums list that
I didn’t know Jason Derulo released something last year. Well, it’s best not to go any further into that. Taylor Swift’s downfall is pretty disheartening, honestly. It’s hard to believe that this is the same person who made Speak Now and 1989. Also, that intro, though. LOL!
Wow, Dear Joe just sounds horrendous. It's a crime against music. That's the worst album of the year by far. Don't get me wrong, I hate Ronnie and Falling In Reverse. But I expect garbage albums from them. I was truly not prepared for anything as bad as Dear Joe. I can't believe it was even allowed to be made.
I also think the Taylor Swift bubble is real, I think some fans are SO INLOVE with the Eras tour and her past music that she can literally do no wrong with anything new she puts out.
Earlier today I saw a meme of MGK, Drake and Taylor Swift and one other person I didn’t recognize saying they’re the four horsemen of “I’m not listening to that album”. I sent it to my friend asking who the other person was. He said Ice Spice, to which I replied “who?” Based on the clips I heard in this video I didn’t miss a damn thing!!
It just hit me: I’m a Christian metal head (like real metal like Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Gojira, etc) and I’ve never actually owned or listened to an entire Skillet album
If I had a nickel for every majorly disappointing piece of media named Y2K released in 2024, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice
Thanks Jon for keeping me informed about what I dodged this year! Half of those I only know by name... and it will stay that way, judging by the awful music clips I heard 😝. Another year that makes me happy to be an indie underrated music fan.
Considering the inauguration line-up, I think you might want to add those onto a list as artists/bands that you should not listen to. (Also, Crash, if your reading this, remove the lid on your bin, because I think there's room for more artists/bands you want to avoid listening to or talking about.)
Popular Monster is the first Falling in Reverse album I’ve ever listened to in entirety and I say under absolutely no uncertainty that it will be my last
Nah you’re not!! I think for this one in particular maybe it really boils down to sense of humor? For me I’m just really far removed from the type of stuff Em laid down on DOSS but to each their own ofc!
@ it’s far from Eminem's best, and I am more of a rock fan so I don’t have as high standards when it comes to rap, so I didn’t hate the album at all, and I love Houdini and Fuel Tho I do agree that older Eminem blows new Eminem out of the water by a long shot
I really feel like it boiled down to the execution of the concept, which I didn't like. Eminem played the Slim Shady part too straight and pushed that side of him to insufferable levels not seen on his previous works. After listening to the Geordie Greep album, which played the loser behavior in a far more theatrical and hilarious way (attempting to poke fun at people who behave like that in the process), I can't give the Eminem album much praise in comparison. It felt like listening to a mini Tom MacDonald, who a portion of Eminem's fans are sadly fans of, and probably ate this album up unironically believing everything Slim Shady was spewing out on the album.
Well, here goes. My bottom 6 worst: 6. Katy Perry - 143 5. Ice Spice - Y2K 4. Falling in Reverse - Popular Monster 3. MGK and Trippie Red - Genre Sadboy 2. Glass Animals - I Love You So Fucking Much 1. (The Artist Formerly Known as Kan)ye (West) - Vultures 2 Fortunately, we got a lot of better music last year. Still, it's wild to see how far former legends like Ye and Katy Perry have fallen. And please, please, please, can we leave behind the lame "alt rock" from bands like Glass Animals that doesn't sound alt or rock?
The worst album of 2024 that I’ve actually sat down and listened to was ‘Happenings’ by Kasabian. Pretty unfortunate considering I love their first five albums and the two after were a step down but still pretty good, this new one isn’t it at all, mostly just TikTok-ified club rock besides a couple of good songs
I do like me some Taylor Swift so this may seem biased, but I honestly don't mind TTPD. I wouldn't say it's close to being her best work, but I certainly don't hate it. It kinda grew on me a bit and some songs I genuinely love. It reminds me a bit of Reputation, except I wouldn't say there's a lot, if any songs I genuinely hate on this one.
My personal hot take is that I didn’t hate the Glass Animals album, but this is coming from a non-GA fan. It’s far from inventive, but I found it fun nonetheless. Cheers to another dumpster video in the books.
Damn Megan not even making the list. WAIT! Katy's not in here. Wow this year was bad ☠️⚰️ (It wasn't at all. I'm excited to see your Best Albums list (great vid btw))
TTPD literally has " The Black Dog", "The Albatross", "Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus", "imgonnagetyouback", "How Did It End?" "I Look In People's Windows", "The Prophecy" and "I Hate It Here"" though, which are masterpieces.
I feel like i'm the only one who doesn't actually hates cxoxo, sure, i wouldn't say it's great either, but i do like parts of the album and i do like the aesthetic and the production (mainly because it makes me remember of that period in 2000s where R&B started to have more electronic elements in it), i think it definitely had the potential to be her best album if it wasn't so disjointed, short and if she had taken some inspiration from artists like ciara and jazmine sullivan (also, if it didn't had two Drake features on it, definitely her worst decision this year)
I’m a huge glass animals fan and i was really disappointed with ILYSFM. it lacks the heart, momentum and unique-ness that their past albums (namely HTBAHB) had. There are a few songs i really like but most of the songs feel like they’re trying too hard to make another heat waves. I love dave’s vocals on legit every other album but here it sounds lackluster and stands out in a bad way. I will say that I saw the band live during their tour for this album back in august and the songs are significantly better live! I can’t hate the album because it was my first concert. But, it’s still a let down. please check out how to be a human being if you can!
as much as i love blondie’s music, ttpd was such a fucking slog. i don’t mind the dessner tracks but her and jack have settled into a musical echo chamber and refuse to do anything other than c major synth soundscapes that sound the exact same. and christ, it absolutely did not need to be a two hour long double album either.
I haven't heard most of these, but still I'm throwing a dishonorable mention in the ring. That being the latest Ghostface Killah album. What a fuckin disappointment. Starts off decent before plummeting into non stop bad ideas and low effort bs. Not the worst thing ever, but for one of the greatest rappers of all time, some dog shit no doubt.
My Worst Albums of the year in no particular order: Kanye west - Vultures 1&2: the degradation of Kanye since Donda has been genuinely depressing as he was one of my favorite music artists of all time. Like I know he has been a problematic person long before but the levels it’s reached recently is insane and his music has become SOO BAD. I haven’t listened to any of the vultures albums all the way through but the songs I have heard are genuinely abysmal. The fact Carnival is Kanye’s first non-feature number 1 since Stronger is genuinely baffling to me. How the hell is this dude still as successful as he is despite being a Nazi and music not even being good anymore. I like to just pretend he just retired and hasn’t done anything of note after Donda and that this was all a bad dream. Lil Uzi vert - Eternal Atake 2: I actually liked lil uzis music quite a lot, it wasn’t lyrical but I thought his songs were fun. This new album he made sounds like legit brain rot. I don’t know why he had to attach the name of one of his best albums to it, cause it sounds nothing like eternal atake. It was so bad that many of his fans agreed with fantano when he gave it a 2/10 which is really all you need to know cause they were pissed when he gave the original a 4/10. Glass Animals - I love you so f**king much: I didn’t find it as agonizing as you, I just found it boring, I forgot what the songs sound like, pretty disappointing cause I do like glass animals but this album didn’t click with me. At least they kind off sound like an actual band again since dreamland sounded nothing like a band. As for an album I disagree with you putting on your list. I actually enjoyed a fair bit of the Tortured Poets Department. There were forgettable boring songs on that album but the songs that hit really hit for me. I did go through a breakup around the time that album and Fortnight especially was just a song I really felt around that time. It’s still one of her weaker albums but I don’t think it’s that bad, I also really love the title track, guilty as sin and I can do it with a broken heart. There are other songs I enjoyed but it is way too long. I’m not one who gets there enjoyment of Taylor Swift by overly examining her personal life, I just like songs I think are good. I always enjoy these end of year lists, I’ve been waiting for this one. ❤️
The Jax album was such a weird listen. I’d never followed her closely, but I checked out her album last summer out of curiosity. There were a couple songs that I thought were pretty decent (mainly I choose violence, like my father, and superbad), but that was pretty much it. The interludes are excessive, and killed what little flow the album had. Not to mention that most of them are extremely unfunny, and really don’t belong on an album. The only one I really enjoyed was “pour one out for me”. Maybe some would work fine as quirky joke songs in her TikToks, but they just don’t fit here. The only constant nursery rhyme interpolations, and pop culture/meme references and samples are also way overdone. References can work well sometimes, but there’s way too many here. I wanted to like this more, but it’s such a convoluted mess. She’s trying so hard to be quirky, and it honestly kept me from liking this more.
i respect your opinion but tpd doesn’t deserve to be on this list like at all yes it’s a very long and at times disjointed and cringe lyrics the songs that hit HIT and neither does cxoxo
Revolution was mid. Bad but also mid. Once was enough for me. Popular Monster I never got to review but seeing the crazy FIR fans/Ronnie worshipers defend anything they put out as if it’s the best thing ever to exist, I’d rather stay far away from anything FIR related.
I was, going to defend Eminem's Album but Im off the Eminem new Album high. I like the Lead Single Houdini. That was a Song that gave us all the hope that this was going to be an album in the same relm of his first 3 albums. Fuel was an unexpected Collab that I loved, JID is one of the very very few modern Rap artists i love and the song is awesome. Toby is good but definitely collab heavy. I just don't think its a song i would go back and intentionally listen to again. Brand New dance is ok if you like the same style of song that the Just Lose it off of his Album Encore. Just a more terrible style of it. The rest are unlistenable. Somebody save me is the only self refection aimed at talking to his kids but i feel like jelly Roll takes up to much of the song and Eminem could of done more for it.

A lot of different sunglasses in the video. Those were trashy albums.
lol Falling In Reverse makes it every year they release an album
But their last album was 2017…
@artvjon true, can't believe its been that long lol
1:31 oh damn
I hated the em album
Where is Linkin Park from zero that album is so bad
despite liking or not this LP, there was really worse this year
It's in the dishonorable mentions in the video description
From Zero is actually good.
It’s really bad, but not quite top 10 bad for me
Popular Monster was great
🤣
