I have a Cancer reoccurance. They are claiming a pre-existing condition due to routine follow up appointment after my 5 year Cancer Free period. She advised me on when the standard follow-up mammogram was and they are denying based on that. We provided letters that I was not being treated for or active cancer at that time.

I was diagnosed with B cell Non Hodgekin Lymphoma last month, the doctor notes stated that I cannot work for 6 months. I work for the USPS and cannot lift boxes due to a medport placed in my chest for chemo treatment. Can I claim for Disability right now or do I need to wait for a year? Thank you

You should inquire with your benefits department to determine whether you have a long term disability insurance. If you have a disability insurance policy in place then it depends when that policy became effective but you should be able to make a claim if you a policy in place.
