    I don’t change it often because I don’t use a lot of grease. I learned how to do it better today. Thank you

    Good video, thanks for teaching folks. Some young person will watch this and get life long knowledge on using a useful tool for machinery. I have seen the aftermath of a guy taking a hand operated gun apart with spring tension in it. Luckily he was wearing safety glasses and did not get the thin lubriplate grease in eyes. Very comical once we knew he was ok. Right after this grease hit him his pocket radio went off and it was the boss calling. That made us laugh even harder. This was a 40 year old in the oilfield, i think he knew better but just got sidetracked without thinking about the what if part of task could be. I still have a grease gun i use on riding mower that i got when about age 20. I am 63 now and still use it. Thanks again for your great videos. I like the air bleed fitting on your lincoln grease gun. Mine does not have that.

      I have a little problem on the priming also (hand pump here). But, that is the way my Dad showed me. Now have a little better method for removing the air.

    Good video, I have seen people fight with those things too. I normally just unscrew the top off first, but will do your method next time. I also like those LockNLube Grease Gun Couplers.

    A very good video MM1 surprising how many people do not know how grease guns need to be vented and a great idea on cleaning prior to refilling the OLD MAN @ EP over and out.

      No need for a bleeder screw/air release, just leave the same exact end slightly loose where you just put the new tube into(Pump end, not Plunger end). Release the plunger into the new tube and pump the handle a couple times. Grease should be coming out of the hose end at this point. Finish tightening the threaded pump end. Go to work. : ) So in the beginning where MM1 loosened the pump end to break the vacuum, you're now using the same procedure to exhaust the small amount of air in the void between the new grease and the pump by pushing the plunger in and then tightening the pump end completely. Harder to type than to do...LOL

      @@bushmaster2936
      Yep i do the same thing as that as well as putting the plunger end in a vise and tighten securely then lift and lock the rod before i un-thread the business end and swap out the cartridge
      Don`t forget gloves just in case the unexpected happens

    • @bushmaster2936
      @bushmaster2936 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PinBall3 Due to an injury, I gently clamp the pump end by it's flat surfaces into the vise, just tight enough to hold it in place. Then I loosen the barrel from the pump enough to break the vacuum when I draw back on the plunger. Finish unscrewing the barrel from the pump, remove empty tube, install new tube and reverse procedure, leaving the barrel just loose enough to burp the air from it when I push the plunger in. Finish tightening, remove from vise and skip off into the sunset ! LOL
