¡Guau! ... Primera vez que escucho un tema de Jazz cantado en español, que yo recuerde. Magnífica idea y gran adaptación de Montse Urán. Rita Payés en su faceta que más me gusta: la jazzistica, como vocalista y trombonista. En ella empezó, en ella se formó, en ella se hizo muy grande en su adolescencia, ... Y nunca lo ha dejado del todo, aunque ahora lo compagine con otros muchos estilos y caminos a veces un tanto discutibles. Sensacional Joan Monné, excelso pianista y arreglista, que, este sí, siempre ha tenido muy claro cual era su camino. Muy alto nivel en el resto de acompañantes, encabezados por un gran David Viñolas.
I think Rita is doing as much Jazz as ever despite the fado and the pop. I think the the number of groups she has been working with in the last three years is extraordinary. Standout is the Marti Serra album and videos, the three Kaleidoscope gigs, Lucia Fumero, Lucas Delgado, Tony Saigi, Davis Whitfield, Dmitri Baevsky, and others... I keep finding them... I think Jazz in all its forms is in her heart. I think she needs it and the creative juices it releases. I hope there is more from this studio session.

Masterful. Great musicians all, but standout in creating atmosphere, Joan Monne (always a pleasure encountering his work) and Rita, trombone, smooth and melodic and that close-miked voice! What an instrument she is cultivating there!
Not her usual Kuhnl & Hoyer trombone but a big concert one it appears. That K&H was her magic feather. It always got a kiss for luck. Maybe she realised that she could fly all by herself? (Ah! Its her first trombone while the K&H finally gets repaired after lockdown. Black duct tape can only hold for so long.)... Had to pop back for another fix of mellow. Thanks, David. Any more? This is a great outfit.
