- This is a playable Mettaton NEO 2.0 fight based on animation(?) by A Huge Pancake.
This is an actual encounter created in the "Create Your Frisk v0.6.4" by me.
I tried very hard to not to miss any small details which in this battle are enough. All sprites were also redrawn by me from the original video (which was the hardest part I think).
When I saw this fan-made I was amazed and to my dissapointment it was impossible to play. So I decided to recreate it myself. And to my surprise it turned out pretty well. (considering that this is my first encounter, and I never done them before).
Yes. That's right. This is my first encounter. I used some parts of the Mettaton NEO fight by 'StrykerX' to begin with. And also I used the yellow soul library by him.

Boy, this mod sure makes Mettaton NEO be more than just a mere pushover. But considering how difficult Sans is, it's pretty much understandable why in the actual game, Mettaton NEO was designed to be defeated so easily; you'll need as many healing items as you can carry for the Sans battle.
Here's how the NEO fight should work: *Battle begins*
Mettaton is still in his box form and tells you he reconsidered using the NEO form since he knows he wouldn't survive
However,if you press "Fight" ,the shell surprisingly cracks,forcing NEO to come out
He will then put you into 1 long turn of Bullet Hell,turn that will end once his Blaster overheats,leaving him vulnerable,and then you go for the kill
You can't waste items if you just never get the chance to heal

I think the main reason Toby wanted him to die so easily is to really sell to the player how powerful you are before the fight with sans. Like there’s no one who could possibly stand in your way, then it hits you with surprise at how strong sans is and that you know for sure that with just one hit on him you win, but he dodges.

That was the point. You're not supposed to enjoy the genocide run. It's an unfulfilling chore broken up by two fights designed to kill you over and over.

@@AhmOOO haven’t done genocide in 5 years, but from what I remember, the shops are just abandoned, you just take what they had in stock rather than buying stuff. Again I don’t really remember very well, so correct me if I’m wrong
Wow just wow, you actually went out of your way to make such a good mettaton neo animation into a playable fight. And my god does it look fantastic, the attacks look just how they were in the animation and it’s clear a ton of effort was out into this for even your first battle. Impressive work my guy, you have really outdone yourself.

Undertale Genocide could’ve thrown 3 full on bosses at you after passing the core, giving Mettaton Neo and actual fight, Sans, and the normal Asgore fight, or a Genocide version of Asgore.
I mean, perhaps after finishing all chapters of Deltarune, Mayby Toby will start working on an actuall hard mode

the fight mechanics, sprites, and animations are all incredible! the only issue i have is the grammar and typos that seem to plague the dialogue, that's the only issue imo but other than that it's perfect. well done!

Gotta admit, you make this boss look WAY easier than it is. Still really fun to play this, though! Love the creative attacks and fair challenge it provides!

My favorite attack is the dance floor one where the legs dance to attack! The one arm cannon attack in sync with the music is super cool too, but that’s just a preference.
Bro, some of these people think that the NEO battle in Undertale was bad, and I KINDA get that, I mean, it wasn’t a fight, but I think that it’s just showing your brutal power, that even mettaton NEO, which would’ve been a huge obstacle for you in pacifist, isn’t a challenge. His death is a show of all the power you have, your inhuman strength, and how not even NEO can beat you. You killed so many people, and seeing something so intimidating be overwhelmed and destroyed in a single strike is emotional.

I think Toby Fox wanted to do something like this, but he did not because it would be very frustrating to people trying to go genocide having 3 tough bosses to defeat

If it really did make Genocide more frustrating, he would have added a Mettaton NEO fight. Genocide is SUPPOSED to be frustrating. Ever wonder why the two hardest bosses are in the same route?
This is EPIC! and does anyone know why Toby didnt bother with Mettaton NEOs fight? I dont know the details.
I think he didn't wanted player to spend all of items before the sans fight, or it was just that he wanted to show how merciless and powerful player is at this point and how genocide is bad.

@@Quasarel I think it's more to remove any fun you can possibly have for doing Genocide. When you are seeing Mettaton Neo for the first time, you expect an actual hard fight instead of literally slaughtering him, which gives you an unsatisfaction.
I don't think it's due to Sans at all. First because he could pretty well add another hard boss just before Sans (tho not as hard as him) and you can just pretty much get any healing item you need.
The bits of the other bosses music in the background is such an amazing detail. I love it.
That's just part of the music. I love it so much, but the arrangement would've fit a lot better in genocide Asgore battle if you think about it.
Fun fact: It is impossible to have a one-hit run in this fight.

@@FadMickit wasn’t really the Human Eradication Device doing that damage. It was the box cutting attack with the sword right before it that leaves you with bleeding damage until you heal. Doesn’t matter if you don’t get hit by it, it WILL leave you bleeding. Good luck healing before that first drop of blood falls!

some attacks have a bigger hitbox than the sprite itself, there was many times where i dodge attacks but still hurt me (and no, i'm not talking about the time where mett takes your hp by 1, this happens too in the beginning)

I think that the best way to do a real representation of what metatton neo could have been, is making it a 1hit enemy, i mean, that kills you in just one hit, based on how high their attack is

I cant get this mod to work properly, when i load it several sprites dont appear as well as dialouge, no music, and the things that do appear have a delay that happens

why couldn’t they just make mettaton deal karma damage, to separate his NEO appearance from the rest of his appearances other than his NEO appearance just being his dark side, and his legs not attached to his hip joints, like how is this guy gonna sit, not to mention that his NEO form is the only form in which he is able to fly. And how is he switching his left hand and right hand and even both to micro his hand cannon, if he can switch hands to hand cannons, can he conceal it until he’s gonna use it again.
