What inspires me when singing this song? Here's my story. I lost my mother to cancer when I was eight years old and whenever I perform "Never Get To Heaven" she is on my mind. The scene in PLL is very close to my heart since I can relate to what Ali and Jason's characters are going through. I miss my mom very much but I'm incredibly lucky that my dad remarried years later to the most amazing woman :)
My mom died of cancer when I was eleven (24 years old now). I've now spent more than half of my life without her. Even though I know she's in a better place, there is always that part of me that wishes she were still here. But, I always tell myself whenever I have a show or performance, at least I always have one person in the audience, because I know she's listening.
I lost my mother to breast cancer when i was 6. im 16 now and im still trying to cope with it. Sometimes i cry myself to sleep. Sometimes i feel like i dont want to continue life bc i didnt ask to be here and its like i have nobody. I feel like i was deprived from my childhood. Although, my mother wasnt the greatest she was trying to keep a roof over our head and food in our mouths. We went from abandoned houses to homeless shelters ect. i just wish i had a regular childhood.

As far as pll when alison realizes her mother's dead and she never get to ask her why or reconcile is truly tragic.
