If you want to learn how to play Sleeping Gods then Meeple University does it best! Stella & Tarrant do an excellent job in teaching each step from set up to finale in a easy to understand way. The teaching is thorough and very clear and will get you up and playing very quickly. Great job!

I was never so hyped for a board game like for this one. Thank you so much for your video. Every little piece of information helps me a lot getting over the waiting time for my own copy. Im one of those poor guys from europe who has to wait for some month longer and even longer since I was to late to bake this on kickstarter and since I have to wait for the german version. My wife and I already did enjoy the pnp-prequel but we had the feeling that was nothing compared to the rich world of the full game. So hyped for it!!

Let’s all be honest with each other here - I’m personally excited about this game - but not at all excited to teach it to anyone who is casually into board games - aka all the family members we’ve subjected to board games in quarantine :). Example: “Oh, your block only works on counter attacks not enemy attack rounds”; “oh, you can’t do all that damage given the enemy is flying and you didn’t use a ranged weapon, as indicated by this little arrow on a different player board you don’t have”
you said during combat both players control captain odessa, however in the rule but i think its states that the active player controls her during combat

Haven't when through the whole Event deck on the ship the first time yet. When I do go through the whole deck (on the ship) and set up the Event deck for the next Campaign (is that what it is called?), do I build an Event deck from new Event cards, or use those same ones each time? Hey after watching your video we decided to get this game and try it out ... everything seems to make sense until we came across a monster card that has the (I ) symbol on the heart icon ( looking more like the roman letter 1) what does that mean? because the heart symbols on monsters that represent monsters' health usually don't have any number on them unless it needs more than one damage to be placed to cover it ... what was even weirder is this monster had both versions... the heart with roman letter (I )as well as heart with nothing on it ... thank you
The number 1 reason to NOT buy Sleeping Gods is that you should wait for a reprint. That will save you days of figuring out and fixing the various bugs and errata. Red raven games not only fcuked up in the QA department, they also refused to send replacements to backers. So avoid getting ended up with a broken product.
Ultimately it's up to your group's preference, as the rules allow for fully collaborative decisions or for the active player to take charge without changing the game. I suggest you share the choices but allow the active player to break any ties.
Jonathan, that is correct. Ability cards can be played to support another player's test/action, but cannot be equipped into another player's character.
@@MeepleUniversity page 17 of the rulebook the first bullet point suggests you can equip a card anywhere. The only restriction is not equipping during tests or combat

This game sound absulutly amazing but there is one thing that bothers me and sounds meh, the way it assigns damages and status tokens, open to abuse and creating grief ... a reckless player may assign all damages to another player's crew members bothers me ... wish the game had an actual fleshed-out system for selecting crew who gets wounds depending on their actual actions in that event rather than random players choice ... that always kills the vibe for me in games and cause grief!
