I agree that we need to tackle this issue but the main problem that a good majority of people on fixed or low incomes face is that good, healthy, and quality food is expensive, and unhealthy, processed food is cheap or always seems to be on sale. When people are paying more than 60% of their income on rent or mortgages for a decent place to live and then have utilities on top of that...it doesn't leave much wiggle room for groceries. If the government stopped the price gouging in housing and utilities, that would leave the tenants more money to make healthier grocery choices.

Really glad Canada is getting involved!! Thank you Jamie and Trudeau!! Get rid of the crap in our foods!!! Help farmers! Less salt. GMO should be GONE ...which the PC Govt brought in so probably Can't get rid of :( ... at least label it ALL. Cheap, good foods! Tax the heck out of bad foods. Home Economics for kids. The list goes on. And it is not totally about kids being over weight!! Bad food effects us all, on so many levels!!

Poor little Canadian children. No more duck fat in their pancakes. I weep.

Tackling childhood obesity by making sure no one can afford groceries here. Thanks, Justin!

Great job Jamie, thank you for continuing to get the message out.
I really hope that the government steps up and gets involved. Only the government can help set standards in which the food industry would have to adhere. If it is continued to be left to their own devices - it is about bottom line, not about health and what is ethical and responsible.
