man the old F1 tune was perfect
Actually the tune was taken from the song ‘The Chain’ by Fleetwood Mac.
:9:45 so in 25 years ferrari hasn't learned anything. they still lose races in the pit.
The 1982 Monaco GP was similar. James Hunt saying “well we’re waiting here for a winner but we don’t seem to be getting one!”
I was a big big fan of the Minardi team back in the days. And I remember when Badoer falled on his knees crying I was too! So heartbreaking. But at the end, Marc Genè made it and bring that point home.
Always loved the underdogs and always will

Classic. I can only imagine the reactions from the fans at the time they were watching this race live
was one of those seeing this all live, one of the painful moments had to be seeing Badoer retire with few laps to go
Stewart became Jaguar then Red Bull 😊 what a dramatic race.
same old ferrari mucking up pit stops 😂
one of my fav races ever as I was a big Minardi fan as I loved to support the underdogs and Marc Gene was my fav driver for them so was delighted when he scored some points
Heart break for badoer tho :(
Still hurts that Frentzen didn't win that race.
Would have been such a surprise for the championship if a Jordan could be in the race for champion until the last race.

Always a joy to hear dear old Murray's commentary. Still can't believe he's gone.
the most annoying commentary voice ever, always transmided stres and anxiousity.
he was like was in some pain and always screaming like a little girl with a high pinch voice
@@natazezedude. Out of line. The man was a god, I'm sorry your undeveloped kiddie-ears cant appreciate that. 5 second penalty
@@natazeze First, learn to spell. Second, don't be a moron. Murray was a legend and enough people have said so that I'm happy to tell you how wrong you are. Agree with Sagittarius - apart from 5 second penalty - you should be black flagged.
@@SAGITTARlUS 5 second penalty? Nah, my friend, @natazeze has to start from the pit
@@Trek001 you know what. Agreed
The 5 drivers jumping the start was due to some teams working out the sequencing of when the lights would go out. The FIA got wind of this and decided to change the sequencing to test this theory. The result, busted...
Ferrari 2023: "Making Major Malmisorganisationproblem great again."
Great job well put together. And thanks for bringing back classic race .👏

Amazing to see marshals on the track pushing a car under waved yellows, then the tractor drives up!!
Ah, the days when F1 sounded like F1. Great race.

This is my favourite race that I've watched unfold live, it had everything I could think to make it interesting =D
That race reminded me on a race at Imola....where all the cars stranded due to fuel consumption during the final 10 laps. Or Monaco....when only six cars arrived at the finish.....
Lovely video! Just a suggestion, when cutting to your audio try and slowly lower the main audio, the cuts are too abrupt in my opinion, btw be careful of copyright strikes!
Thanks for the tip!
Ferrari was Ferrari even back in the 90s
Videos about old F1. You've got a new subscriber!! Hopefully there's some 1980's and very early 1990's F1 stuff as well.......
Welcome!
Now there's a truck on the track... Marvelous...
Even in 1999 Ferrari again being Ferrari 🤣

I never saw the replay but I remember the win for Stewart Ford.. I knew it was a rain affected race but I never knew it was like this.
Jarno Truli . The master of defensive driving . No doubt Rubens was quicker , but the Truli train was on the track .
On dry track Rubens would probably have flown past but outside racing line the track was damp, meaning massive risk going off racing line.

the real "F1 Race That NOBODY Wanted to Win" was GP monaco 1996 ^_-
good video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@JoeF1 went and watch most of youre videos. they are incredibly entertaining. could use a lil bit better mic but thats honestly just knitpicking. keep up the great work, i cant wait to watch this channel grow
To use my own quote from me "The greatest F1 race of all time". From the about 500 I've seen anyway. And if there was a law that everyone should watch one race in their lifetime, this would be it.
Or mandatory
It's one of the best for sure! In general F1 1999 Season was great. If you're interested you can watch its highlights with modern graphics and 25-points system on my channel🙂
F1 just doesn't have the same excitement and drama without Murray calling the action.
crazy race! watching this back im shocked at the safety standards and not even a yellow with cars on the track, tractor just off it
weve come along way
No matter who says that a more recent race was "crazy" . Show them this one. They're wrong.
Hill and Frantzen both retired because they forgot to turn off their cheat launch system. Damon details this in his book...
The cheating wasn’t about the retirements. It was at the first start, that’s why several drivers jumped the start, because they figured out, that if they send a signal to the drivers ears they can have perfect starts. That’s why they changed the sequence to a random interval start.
Frentzen forgot to switch of the pit mode and thought the car lost power.
@@viktorvargha7903 It was both. Several teams found out the frequency of the lights. Jordan also had other cheats in this race.
I suspect what happened was that Ferrari decided no way was Irvine going to be champion that year, instead they'd wait for Michael's return

My favourite ever race
Frentzen would have won the title in 1999 if he’d won this race.

This race is like a f1 career mode race in changeable conditions😂😂
The race commentators were making me laugh at how energetic they were calling the race. They didn’t let up on the excitement the entire race.
This was the golden era of F1 nowadays it's predictable and boring with 1 team dominating
Well, Ferrari and Michael were pretty dominant - Eddie not so much despite the luck of Michael's broken leg!
Well done Johnny & Rubins & Stewert
First win for red bull racing that we know today
Commentary is not the same without Murray Walker!
Minardi 💔
Frentzen robbed. Badoer robbed. Stewart made up for 3 years of bad luck. Hakkinen drove like he wanted to be on the beach, but plucked two points out of nowhere
Oh and Ferrari 😅
Ralf Schumacher was robbed aswell, second time a race win got away from him, although (imo) he proved his calibre this year, single handedly carrying the Williams team through the season, kind of like Alex Albon this season!
I wish Senna was alive at that race.
where is Michael Schumacher tho, why he wasn't driving then?
He broke his leg at silverstone so he missed some races to recover
Broken right fibula and only missed six races. SIX! That’s just bonkers!
Wish we can turn back time to the good old days when our mama sing us to sleep but now were stressed out
maybe it's me getting old but even if i remember the 80's F1 which i still think was the best the 90s weren't that bad. Was still watchable. After that i started watching motogp only.
That error is probably what lost Irvine the championship. Had he finished 6th with Häkkinen 7th, he'd have entered the final race 7 points ahead, meaning his 3rd place there would have clinched him the title.
Also, had Häkkinen (with more victories to his name) trailed by 5 or 6 rather than 4 points going into the final race, M. Schumacher would have probably let Irvine past to give him the title.
Unluckily for Irvine, he would have also won the title under most other scoring systems, with the 1961-90 distribution also setting up a "let Eddie pass for the championship" moment, and of course the 2003 and 2010 systems would have made Irvine a champion.
Essentially, the luckier man won. Irvine - in his only competitive season - was driving a Ferrari marred by a lack of car development after Schumacher's injury, whilst Häkkinen had a superior car but making some glaring mistakes that made him seem a shadow of his 1998 campaign and he just came through.
