    That R8 is by far the best

    I used to have a R58 plaintop sold it to a guy from montreal he flew here in Edmonton to pick it up. Biggest regret and I will never forget. Now I owned a 59 murphy lab I will tell you its life changing first all my savings are gone 2nd its the best les paul I’ve ever owned and its more than enough and actually stops me from looking for other guitars. 3rd its my forever guitar 😊

      The Murphy labs are nice. The binding is able to be worked in more. I was originally going to pick up a heavily aged ‘57 or ‘59… but didn’t bond that well with them. Bonded perfectly with the ‘59 VOS. It’s a shame because the ‘57 Murphy Lab looks AMAZING!!! Cheers -Ryan

    Thank you for the hard work you put into these series. I bought a used Gibson GC Traditional pro V in translucent ebony for 1800. The color is unique and one of my favorites. It has the tradbucker pickups. I'm not good on guitar at all.. but I frckn absolutely love it. I really like the A symmetrical neck its very subtle but makes a noticeable difference in comfort. It's my first real Gibson LP. I owned a ephiphone custom silverburst that was pretty awesome too but that d shape neck wasn't my fave.

      Name of the game is always “What keeps you coming back”. Whether that’s neck, weight, feel, etc… that’s the whole point! Glad you bond with your V! Cheers -Ryan

    For me weight is the most important thing and finding a good guitar with a good price, good sound and low weight is what is really difficult. especially if it's a Gibson

    I have an LP tribute, one studio HP 2016, one classic 2019, one standard 60, one standard 50 goldtop, one LP slash standard and one LP Kirk Hammett Standard. Those are all great guitars (I own also a LPJ TV yellow). But 5 months ago I’ve bought an R8 VOS like the one you’ve played in the video. The Gibson Custom Shop is on a different level for the feeling that those guitars can give you and the custom buckers are so creamy. I love all my LP…they gave me a great inspiration when I play and they improved me to be a better guitarist. This could be strange but after the R8 in mine personal preferences there are the standard 60 and the Tribute. This one is more brilliant than the other Gibson USA and for the price is a great guitar!

      100%! My entire life changed when I tried my '58! It was an expensive mistake, but one I am glad that I made! I'm picking up a '56 on Sunday to go along with my '57, '58, and '59. They just feel completely different! Cheers -Ryan

      It’s on the list. I am, however, gutting my collection. Kind of cleaning things up. So I am selling my Classic with P90s and have 2 people trying to sell their guitars to buy it. So as long as I can find the time before it sells (It can take MONTHS to sell) then I will make that comparison. Cheers -Ryan

    Amazing video!!! Congrats! My question is… One of the new Epiphones in collaboration with Gibson 1959 from 2024 with custombuckers? Or a used Gibson Studio 490R and 498T??

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try both a see what suits you best. Some people really can’t get along with poly finish guitars, but the Epiphone has some good specs… Studios are pretty solid. But on the resale side… people will always offer Les because “It’s not a Standard”. But it’s always best to play them both and see what works best for you. Cheers -Ryan

      @@Crypticmaskguitar I agree, poly is too sticky in my opinion, and nitro ages way better for my taste. Hoever theres some nice Epiphones… the new collaboration with Gibson 2024 and the Adam Jones collection sounds astonishing too. Thanks for your reply! BTW I love your channel and your content! 😃

    They in my ears all sounded pretty much the same. But I have to go by neck size. So in my price range I will take the Tribute. Studio has slim taper and is just not the neck for me.

      Price range is always important. The Tribute has that nice rounded neck. In between slim taper and the beautiful club necks. Cheers -Ryan

    Try to do a blind test, I bet it very hard to know what is what

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Blind tests and Les Paul’s are easy to tell the differences. What you feel in your body when playing really gives it away. The increased low end on weight relived and satin finished guitars is very evident. When it comes to the VOS guitars they ring out like one giant piece… USA range does not come close to that feeling. If the VOS guitars didn’t do that then I would have a lot more money in my bank account! Maybe someone who has never played a Les Paul before couldn’t tell what is what blindfolded… but an experienced player will know the difference instantly. Cheers -Ryan

      @@Crypticmaskguitar I mean have another player play them continuously and guess which Les Paul it is :)

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So basically an inexperienced player… that would be like asking me what Strandberg guitar is what. I’m pretty sure most would get a VOS guitar over a USA guitar. They just ring as one giant piece, whereas the USA don’t. But then again who knows. I just know I was PISSED that the VOS felt like they do. I was really hoping that they felt just a little better than USA. Cheers -Ryan
