As far as VIRGINIA, I hear a lot of people don’t consider it being south, but the people from there they think they’re southern. Virginia is a military town, so everybody from everywhere lives there. Plus, the trans Atlantic Slave Trade to North America started in Virginia, so that’s something to think about too.

virginia is the epitome of the south. where do you think the capital of the confederacy was? richmond. we just changed our street name jefferson davis to something else. and he was the president of the Confederacy. Virgina is VERY South, WE HAVE north VA, which is mainly upper class democrats and liberals and outta town politicians, which is more DC than VA. We have richmond and the virginia beach area, Everything else is rural or small towns. and virginia has a lot of forts in richmond for the military and the FBI/CIA is based in Quannico or whatever in Virginia. And norfolk is where the navy is based, so it's a navy town. But its the top of the south, beginning of it. but its south

As somebody who was raised in NC my family has been in NC since before America existed. NC is the south. If all you know about NC is where it is on the map, you have no idea about NC.

The south, to me, is where Black Americans blood spilled, and our central home. You can't change that history based on what you think, it's been around for over 400 years, at least
I'm from NYC, and the south starts from Baltimore/Maryland to Florida. Just look at the culture in each area. They all have Black American culture, but once you hit Maryland, the accents start changing, and the culture is different. The only way to understand me, is to experience it, & know Black American history
Baltimore is not the start of the south bro. Tho the Mason Dixon line separates Pennsylvania and Maryland, it is widely known that Virginia is the start of the south. People from Baltimore and D.C. do not say they from down south.

Literally, Maryland is the start of the Mason-Dixon line which means it's the south. It's not the DEEP SOUTH, it's the START of the SOUTH!
Secondly, I'm talking about culture, and lineage, not just geography. All those people in Baltimore have lineage to the CULTURE of the Black American south, they will not deny this. They all eat the same type of foods, listen to the same type of music, and even have the same accents. They just do each thing in their specific ways by each region.
Just because people associate being country with the south doesn't change the meaning it has had for over 400 years!

It's because Black Americans were a large majority in the south, and they wanted to know what area was for the free, and for slaves cause it was a money maker for the north which handle the insurance, and business aspects of slavery

I have lived everywhere from NY to Florida and currently reside in Vegas. Black culture is everywhere but the culture north of Virginia is totally different from Virginia and further south. 2 different cultures starting with wearing Timbs🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣and the north having knowledge of self but that's another convo.
